They threatened a sevearl hundred pound fine, and added £350 for an "expert witness" ...the person who evaluates all the information....with a video link from her office...it would have been £500 or more if i lost. All i got was my parking costs and petrol. Nothing for my time, after i went to the court twice due to a cock up, and took time out of my day (2 half days) They should pay my court time, prep time, and travel. Nope. This is why they send out fines, with no financial recourse when they lose...
Elijah I’ve always thought that too. I bet councils would quickly ensure traffic wardens were only issuing genuine parking tickets if they were having to pay out for wrongly issued tickets. As it stands, they may as well chance it as they’ve little to lose.

Well said Clint. AB does a good job and whilst this does ruin anyone’s day I think the guy was open and honest about his view point. I don’t think what AB did was harassment but I would imagine these traffic wardens are exposed to a lot more each day and see the precursors to it coming.

The parking maid never said that the ticket couldn't be read. He just said that it wasn't displayed the way it's supposed to be according to the rules - which don't seem to exist. I'm guessing that there was a hat between the ticket and the window, and that the guy didn't feel like leaning over to try to see it. The parking maid probably took a picture from the side - not the front.

It’s quite easy to contest the ticket. I got one in Derby last year after buying a parking ticket online and discovered that the website gave me the wrong car park. Successfully appealed.
When dealing with a "Greater fatty jobsworth" it is always a good idea to carry either a large number of McDonald's Big Mac meals or a bag of doughnuts. These can then be used to distract said jobsworth, allowing for a speedy exit before he issues a fine for having your ticket upside down, back to front and at a 45 degree angle.
Looks like a nice area with mild mannered law abiding folk, I’d love to see this warden try this kind of attitude in a rough inner city area, he wouldn’t survive a week.
The traffic Warden was 100% correct and the motorist was clearly an idiot who is just a pain in the a**e. He should be ashamed of himself for the way he treated the traffic warden. Not the best paid job in the world and he was more patient than most people would have been if faced with such a moronic motorist.
To protect myself from ever being caught in a similar situation I place the parking ticket in a clearly visible position and then take a photo of it on my phone. I then have visible proof if I were unfortunate enough to be scammed by a dodgy ( or partially sighted ) warden.

When he took photo of ticket all the warden had to do was turn the phone image upside down. Clear and plain view means unobstructed. It does not mean upside down. Then he introduced a hat was obscuring it. It is hardwork to walk around a car carrying a belly like that.
In all honesty he seemed OK compared to a few traffic wardens in my area. The bit at the end was ridiculous in regards to the suggestion of abusive behaviour but other than that he wasn’t awful.
The fact that he was overweight isn’t relative and AB doesn’t resort to such statements on his channel means given you enjoy his content you probably should follow his lead. Other than that he did offer evidence via photographs that the ticket wasn’t clear to be read. Let’s be fair he probably gets abuse every day and as such has his coping mechanisms in place from the start. In this case he was clear from the beginning.
I do Stephen. I get that people don’t like traffic wardens from the start and as such view this with interest. But he set his stall out from the beginning and made himself clear. This one however, annoys me for a number of reasons. 1) You failed to show the positioning of your ticket which would obviously help us make our minds up about who to side with on this occasion. 2) Your timing of being able to come back, find the ticket and then 'wait' around for a traffic warden to show up, who instantly remembers your ticket and can remember why you were issued the ticket - but we can leave the point as coincidence 3) You say 'do I sound like I am arguing' ... while you are arguing; I've not got the definition but it's a difference of opinion which I'm sure comes under argument. 4) I've lost count of how many tickets you have on display you say 'the ones that are upside down' 'it was in there' - so how many and where?, and you expect HIM to faff around to locate your valid ticket?... and then complain that he gives YOU work to do?... He may have seen it, he may have not, I like at not one point you say that you don't deserve a ticket, because you clearly do. Enter point 5 5) You walk over to the parking instructions but conveniently don't actually read the 'terms and conditions'. If you did it would read something like this... *and ensure that the parking ticket is clearly displayed in the windscreen of your vehicle* - perhaps saying the date and time clearly visible perhaps not. 6) Then we find out when you showed him your ticket in the photo, it's behind a hat! .. which again refer to point 1. 7) Your end comment 'Just make sure you pay attention man', then I recall other passive aggressive comments in your videos as you love to have the last word. From my perspective, you have made this encounter happen, even set up for video. You wanted him to give you the ticket. Very disingenuous, Saying that you have to make money.

Officially they say traffic wardens can’t cancel parking tickets once they’ve been issued. I got a parking ticket once when I had a permit to park clearly displayed and confronted the warden and told him I’m not wasting my time writing to the council because he’s blind and demanded he sort it out (I admit I lost my cool) and to my amazement he did cancel it! So it is certainly possible.

The guy couldn't be bothered to look properly. Just notched up another ticket for his daily tally. I drove into a car park, couldn't find a spot, drove straight out. The hire car company said I'd got a ticket and debited my credit card.
They are looking quickly for a valid ticket, they don't have time to look thoroughly on your dashboard. If you have old tickets on there or hats that are in the way your valid ticket will get missed.
They dont have time? BS they have all the time in the world to ensure they dont give tickets out incorrectly. The best one I got was officially “issued” after I had got back to my car and was standing in the local town hall complaining about it, the ticket was issued for 14:45, but I had driven a mile to the town hall parked, walked in, waited for 15 minutes before being seen and was finally seen at the time the ticket was issued for overstaying 🤦♂️
so you had an old used ticket on the drivers side, placed the new current one on the wrong side, you could not be asked to read the instructions, you kept pushing, you were told what you needed to do, but you kept pushing. IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT

What I've been doing for the past few weeks is whenever I park my car, just take a quick video of where it is parked in relation to buildings and other cars, any parking signs nearby and the condition of my car (no damaged doors or fenders etc). That way, I have proof if it gets stolen or hit or a parking ticket because the time is on the smartphone video.
I think his employer has a responsibility to his health. They should encourage him to be more thorough when looking for tickets, and don't give him a motorbike to get around, we all need our exercise.

When he took photo of ticket all the warden had to do was turn the phone image upside down. Clear and plain view means unobstructed. It does not mean upside down. Then he introduced a hat was obscuring it. It is hardwork to walk around a car carrying a belly like that.
In all honesty he seemed OK compared to a few traffic wardens in my area. The bit at the end was ridiculous in regards to the suggestion of abusive behaviour but other than that he wasn’t awful.

The fact that he was overweight isn’t relative and AB doesn’t resort to such statements on his channel means given you enjoy his content you probably should follow his lead. Other than that he did offer evidence via photographs that the ticket wasn’t clear to be read. Let’s be fair he probably gets abuse every day and as such has his coping mechanisms in place from the start. In this case he was clear from the beginning.
I do Stephen. I get that people don’t like traffic wardens from the start and as such view this with interest. But he set his stall out from the beginning and made himself clear. The abusive bit was completely over the top on his part as AB wasn’t. But I imagine he gets a lot worse in his day to day job and as such has a lower threshold. I only view this from both perspectives and the guy did his job and AB filmed it.

To be honest, some of your videos I like. This one however, annoys me for a number of reasons.
1) You failed to show the positioning of your ticket which would obviously help us make our minds up about who to side with on this occasion.
2) Your timing of being able to come back, find the ticket and then 'wait' around for a traffic warden to show up, who instantly remembers your ticket and can remember why you were issued the ticket - but we can leave the point as coincidence
3) You say 'do I sound like I am arguing' ... while you are arguing; I've not got the definition but it's a difference of opinion which I'm sure comes under argument.
4) I've lost count of how many tickets you have on display you say 'the ones that are upside down' 'it was in there' - so how many and where?, and you expect HIM to faff around to locate your valid ticket?... and then complain that he gives YOU work to do?... He may have seen it, he may have not, I like at not one point you say that you don't deserve a ticket, because you clearly do. Enter point 5
5) You walk over to the parking instructions but conveniently don't actually read the 'terms and conditions'. If you did it would read something like this...
*and ensure that the parking ticket is clearly displayed in the windscreen of your vehicle* - perhaps saying the date and time clearly visible perhaps not.
6) Then we find out when you showed him your ticket in the photo, it's behind a hat! .. which again refer to point 1.
7) Your end comment 'Just make sure you pay attention man', then I recall other passive aggressive comments in your videos as you love to have the last word.
From my perspective, you have made this encounter happen, even set up for video. You wanted him to give you the ticket. Very disingenuous, Saying that you have to make money.

@@tangomike15 As much as you may want to blame AB, I think it needs to be said that this warden was not conducting his job properly, maliciously handing out fines, I have left tickets upside down before, its natural to want to leave it in that orientation when you put it in the windscreen from the direction one must put it in. This warden simply couldn't be bothered, maybe the saying 'minimum wage, minimum effort' could be applied here

Officially they say traffic wardens can’t cancel parking tickets once they’ve been issued. I got a parking ticket once when I had a permit to park clearly displayed and confronted the warden and told him I’m not wasting my time writing to the council because he’s blind and demanded he sort it out (I admit I lost my cool) and to my amazement he did cancel it! So it is certainly possible.
This is what happens when you give enforcement to private companies that are paid per tickets issued.
These plonkers have to split their ticket scamming job with reversing buses out of the bus depot ! Well done lads...you made it !
TL:DR; The "parking enforcement officer" didn't do his job and examine the car properly for a ticket.

The best one I got was officially “issued” after I had got back to my car and was standing in the local town hall complaining about it, the ticket was issued for 14:45, but I had driven a mile to the town hall parked, walked in, waited for 15 minutes before being seen and was finally seen at the time the ticket was issued for overstaying 🤦♂️
so you had an old used ticket on the drivers side, placed the new current one on the wrong side, you could not be asked to read the instructions, you kept pushing, you were told what you needed to do, but you kept pushing. IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT

What I've been doing for the past few weeks is whenever I park my car, just take a quick video of where it is parked in relation to buildings and other cars, any parking signs nearby and the condition of my car (no damaged doors or fenders etc). That way, I have proof if it gets stolen or hit or a parking ticket because the time is on the smartphone video.
