First and foremost I support law enforcement, it is an essential component in a civilized society. That support is of course contingent on the LEPS honoring their oath, obeying the laws they are sworn to uphold, acting professionally and when dealing with a non-criminal courteously. It is really quite simple.
What I've learned from watching these videos is this, you can answer the same question over and over again, they won't be satisfied unless you answer it the way they want you to.

At the end of the day police stations are located in public areas and UK law allows for photographers to photograph any public building from public spaces. Photography is not a crime and photographers should not be treated as criminals.

At some stage I would have hoped these officers would be intelligent enough to work out that they are the story and if they just did the right thing to make contact with you then leave you alone there would t be a story. Our police force needs to recruit people who are much more intelligent than they do.

If a police officer is concerned about personal vehicles, tell them to get on their bike (literally).
Members of the public can't use license plates to identify people. What we can do is use the names of the officers and look them up on 192.com. So the police's issue with filming cars is a false and weak argument

You have to smile in dismay. The amount of times the police will say to an auditor, “all you had to do is call in at the station and let us know what you’re doing”. AB did that and how did they respond? They were just as ignorant and demanding as they often are. What they really want is for people not to use their rights. “Go away and leave us alone” that’s what they want. Otherwise it’s the same 20 questions, starting with “can I help you”. They have no interest in helping, they just want to bully people into giving up their rights or prevent them from doing lawful activities.

ACPO spokes person Mr Trotter made a statment in simple terms police officers need to respect the rights of photographers . At the end of the day police stations are located in public areas and UK law allows for photographers to photograph any public building from public spaces. Photography is not a crime and photographers should not be treated as criminals.

When will they get it through their thick skulls, there is no expectation of privacy in public and Police Stations are public property, other than their cars, which are owned by the DVLA lol. Both cops walked away in the end with no details of the person so I very much doubt they actually really felt there was a threat to the police station.
