Bf3 and bf4 are both nuts with the graphics. On PC especially. Consoles they are starting to look slightly dated but not to the point of looking “dated” yet.
Battlefield 2 on PC was something. Look at all those classes. This is why when people complain about there not being the classic 4 classes in 2042 I scratch my head. So many BF games had 3-6 different classes. Really wish a LOT of these older maps would make their way to Portal. So many classic experiences. Not everything needs to be 64v64 maps.

The marketing team for BFV was assassinated and the devs of 2042 were halfway through a completely different game and then were told by EA execs to go screw themselves and then to make another traditional Battlefield game after they were done with that
I love BF1, BF 3 and 4 are great, 2 is a mainstay. But 2142 HAS to have a special spot in my heart. I played countless hours playing that game. It was just so unique that nothing really tops what it made me feel.
I'll never forget these days. I was 14 in 2010 and after me and my buddies played the entirety of the Bad Company 2 beta we were sold. Got it day one. That and BF1 are tied for my favorite.
BF1 was the peak of battlefield. It’s been rough since then… PC still has lots of full servers most nights of the week and double that on the weekends. Lots of fun.
I need to add there was a submarine in BF1942, in Vietnam you could winch up tanks with helis... Bf 2142 had a mode where people had to disable the other team's titan ( a huge ship) before boarding it using individual launch pods while the crew defended the corridors like in the first star wars movie...

I think they made a big mistake to stop Battlefield Heroes, that game had a lot of potential and I think it would have been a much better game than today's fortnite.
BF1942 -demo was the earliest I played Favorite is close w BF2. Anticipation in 2005 was crazy. Was worth it. Only gripe was weapons grind, dolphin diving and no Navy 😭

The Battlefield 4 DLC "Final Stand" was a prequel to 2142, featuring the hover tank prototype, the rail gun, drop pods and maps where they were building the titans and mechs.

I can’t believe that BF2 was released only one year after Vietnam, while Vietnam was released two years after the first one. It must’ve been a separate team working on each of them or they just waited with the release, but it looks almost identical with 1942, while the jump to BF2 is much bigger.
BF2 and 2142 were my battlefield days with a little comeback with BF4 and Hardline Heroes was... well... a mobile game before mobiles were really a thing I guess? could work today...
