Thank you for the tour. When I was 15 & visiting Singapore, my uncle gave me a tour of the training center when it was at Paya Lebar. In the mid-1980’s, my cousin was the secretary for the man who planned all the SQ menus worldwide. She arranged a tour for me at the catering center! ❤️
The Captain was fantastic. Very honest about pathways which I'm sure young peeps getting into aviation with a view to becoming an airline pilot would get a lot out of. Cheers, Stef. As entertaining as usual.
Absolutely right Captain Quek, always think of your end goal. Very interesting insight as to what goes on in this training facility. I think you could actually live in first class. Great job at the controls Stef, hey, you have your commercial lic so maybe can you see yourself doing this. Thank you Stef and Karl for the tour.
Heya Stef! Nice work mate! The training aspect of airlines is so often overlooked. Great coverage and as always awesome/editing production. My wife who is sitting beside me also said to say 'That was fantastic! Thanks!! Safe travels!
How good is this ?? No superlatives...not enough room on the page. Good to see you back at work...sort of !! Well done mate and I love anything with Singapore Airlines involved. !!
Did you know Singapore Airlines buys Danish Ice-cream? I’m from Denmark and I’m really proud😂😀👍🛫 It’s so amazing seeing someone like Singapore Airlines buying Ice cream from a Danish island with only 25 to 30 people in the summer!
Stefan, It's amazing the attention to detail and the thorough training, is this standard operating procedures for most airlines? Pilots I understand but never knew about the other mock-ups. Cheers, Rik Spector
This is a situation where you shouldn't have taken no for an answer. I cannot leave the building until I fulfill my sliding duties. I MUST go down that slide SIR ⤵️
I'll have to say rhis video was great. You didn't get full access like a particular vlogger usually gets, but your humour, personality and ease in front of the camera is refreshing...compared to a particular "famous" vlogger. 👍
People do occasionally sprain ankles/wrists or get friction burn, but Its more to do with liability than risk. Also wouldn't be good press for Singapore Airlines, it Stef couldn't publish flying videos for a couple of weeks due to a sprain!
Evacuations of any kind, whether aircraft, marine or even just a building/house, are inherently dangerous as they generally take place under duress or require actions that involve more risk than everyday egress - hence why you use jetbridges and stairs instead of slides.
That, in fact, was really interesting, Karl sold the Airline well! (why not arrange a competition to win one of their flight simulators?) I would love one in my office!..lol. Great vid Stef, Cheers
Yes, but most of them are based in Australia. So it's no wonder. Even this dude Karl is based in Sydney. You should visit STC, ITD, and Airline House, the three main corporate offices of SIA in Singapore, you will barely find any Aussie. I work for SIA, by the way.
Cracking video Stef! It looked like they are cooking using a wok and a jet engine with an afterburner ! When piloting the 787 sim did you have to fight the urage to reach up and call CAPS available at 600ft?
That’s NOT correct. V1 is the speed at which you recognise an engine failure and either (a) continue the take off and clear the certification screen height ( usually 35 ft) at the end of the Take Off Distance Available (runway + stopway + clearway, if they’re present) or (b) reject the take-off and stop within the Runway available (Accelerate Stop Distance). In reality most will continue the take off if the failure occurs within a few knots of V1 - the history of rejected take-offs at V1 is quite grim.
I've Flown 4 legs with Singapore Airlines all in A380s, the premium economy was good, but not great which was dissapointing, the older lay out was noisey and there was only a small wall seperating Economy and Premium, Food service from London was Brilliant, but from Melbourne it sucked. With the newer lay out where the Premium had its own toilets it was much better, in the older model where we shared it with Economy the toilet needed to be cleaned more often, i mentioned it to the cabin crew but they did not seem to care. I will happilly fly with them again, but I will go to business class to give it a shot a redemption Good video, glad to see how welcoming they where with what you could film. I would have asked a 4th time about the slide.
I’m honestly humbled and grateful for every single person who clicks subscribe or watches one of my videos. Not in it for the numbers, I love just sharing adventures and stories like this. Thanks though Alfie.
Sometimes u need to ask again. Theyr very busy and prob need to rmb other passengers requests too and they’re bound to forget occasionally so Yano be patient

I’ve been down an airplane evacuation slide, it’s so fun! And the speed you gain is crazy
Now I’m really jealous!
I'll have my first flights on Singapore Airlines next year - looking forward to the experience!
Hope you have a great trip Ben. Check that they're following the training when you're onboard!
Hope you don't have to use the evacuation slides, as they are dangerous apparently!
Fun video, Stef. And beautifully edited. Many thanks!
A great insight into one of my absolute favourite airlines. Nice work Stef.
Suh a great video thanks for giving us an in depth looks into the making of such a great airlines! 👍

So no custard creams on Singapore Airlines!!!!!
Fantastic laid back informative video.........another well done to you Stef!
If you did a video like this in Malaysia airlines facility I think they would practice a lot of water landings
Interesting video. Singapore airlines i believe is still number one. They take the job very seriously. Thanks for the tour
GreatAs always a great video. For me your best Airline Video. Loved Karls impersonation of Jacqui. Thx Stef
Karl is an impressive bloke, very good at his job. There is a real bromance there as well. :-)
Once again well done.

Really awesome!
Amazing video! You're very entertaining !
Thanks for watching William.
At V1 you take your hand off the thrust levers.

I ALWAYS wanted to go on those slides...
I was the first like ❤️❤️❤️
🏃💨
3:14 LOL 🤣🤣
as a SingaporeAirlines fan Iam soooo Jealous, lol
V1 = hands off throttle. Apparently :P
Normal airline procedure to place both hands on yoke at V1. Despite whoever’s leg it is, the captain will have his hand on the thrust levers.
Alwin Sayan yup. V1 you are going to take off whatever happens.
Craig O'Brien yea correct
That’s NOT correct. I like Singapore Airlines >:)
New Subscriber here 😄😄😄
Hi Stefan, Is Karl a fellow Aussie and what's the reason he works for SQ please?
at v1 it means that he is going to carry out the departure and so it means that he doesn't need to be ready to pull back the throttle
4:19 terminator?
Make sure to record the way back to YMMB Intl Airport
That's the next video which should be up next week.
Let Stefan ride the slide! haha
My dad flys for Singapore airlines on the A330
