- This is WAY MORE than just "ANOTHER DISTANCE GOLF BALL"!NEW TAYLORMADE DISTANCE GOLF BALL... FOR CHEAP!? When choosing which golf balls to use we always think of certain elements... what are the best golf balls money can buy? the longest golf ball? the softest golf ball? what about cheap golf balls? the best budget golf ball may be the ball for you as you lose so many golf balls... how do you stop losing golf balls? thats a huge factor in what is the best golf ball for you? in this video we look at a TaylorMade Golf ball designed to get you more distance for an affordable price... but it does so much more than that... let's do it... and let's do it now!
Distance ball? Slazenger V100 lol. Found one last week in the rough and used it for a few holes near the end. Beat the daylights out of my Pro V1. Into the wind it was great..... apart from the sound/feel
Good review as usual James. Would love to see these tested against a premium ball by someone with a slower swing speed, I suspect you and Chris have a speed that is a bit fast to see much difference.
I've been using these for some time now, as at my level of golf I wasn't getting on with the usual choice of AD333 or TruFeel etc, and I lose way too many to use a premium ball. Where these feel harder than the previously mentioned balls, I've not seen and drop or difference in spin, but I've hit far less wayward shots and gained distance. I really like them personally. Not for everyone, but at the price they're an excellent ball.
For me they spin quite a bit on my driver, around 3200-3600 compared to a prov1x which is around 2400 for me. Good ball in terms of feel and Durability. But it just spins too much for me
I've been using these for the past few weeks and really like the feel of them and they seem to go further than the really cheap Slazengers i was using when I first started.
i might give these a go
I've played these a few times and they are a decent distance ball for the money. Overall, I prefer the Kirkland 3 piece. Similar distance, but better feel and even less expensive. IMO you can't beat the value of the Kirkland balls, especially if you send them camping and swimming a lot, like I do.
I use the Titleist TruFeel it’s the best one I have found in my price bracket.
Very soft balls. Not exactly distance balls but they're good
I found one of these in the woods, a one hit wonder. Used it next round and loved it. Got through an entire 18 without managing to lose it which was nice. I dont use the putting aide but I dont mind it being there either. Discovered they come in yellow which is what I usually play (good for distinguising whos ball is whos from a distance...no pun intended), and are cheap as chips. Winning. Definitely picking some up.
I've been using these all season. I love them.
I've just put these in the bag after trying one out by chance. The distance is brilliant especially on mis-hits and there's good feel round the greens like you showed. Best value for money golf ball IMO and they don't hurt as much when you lose them 😂
Morning from Bama! This was the ball I first used when I started golfing a year ago. I lost all 12 within 2 rounds of golf, and found a ton of better balls looking for my own. I did like the feel of more premium balls. The distance didn't matter back then a lick, bc I couldn't find the fairway.
Pinnacle used to fly past anything when i last used them (many moons ago).
I play z stars and quite often you can get a deal online for about half the rrp (especially if you buy 6 dozen at once)
I play the Srixon Z Star and recently paid $30 per dozen. They were on sale for Father's Day. I think they are a great ball for most players.
Great ball
Great camera 📷 work, loving the new look video 📹 . It allows you and Chris to concentrate on golf game. I do use the Taylormade Distance balls as they are great value here in Australia 🇦🇺.
Top Flite XL. Top Fite Bomb, Wilson Ultra; Pinnacle Gold, Callaway Warbird
Have had fun trying Nitro Pulsar and Wilson SmartCore
Thank you guys for testing these golf balls. That was pretty impressive from a spin standpoint.
Hey James! Another great ball talk. I would love to see some mid-iron numbers on some of these, and some wedge numbers, as well. Driver numbers are good, and are what most folks care about more, I guess. But at my speed all of them go pretty much the same distance with driver. The wedge and iron numbers are more important for me in choosing a ball.
All I know is that my PV1x was not flying in the cold yesterday so I switched to the TaylorMade distance and had 2 of my longest drives ever. I drove one the green on a par 4 (over water) and was 15 yards short of the green on another par 4.
Very small sample size but played it for the first time yesterday and very impressed. Have been playing the Tour Response but the 2022 version is very high launch and just wasn't working, plus the stripe isn't durable. This was a good launch angle, distance wasn't more nor less than expected and got control around the Green. Paid under £16 for 12, which is less than the AD333 and Vice Pro Soft I have been trialing. Going to take this ball for the rest of the year for sure.
I used to play Nike PD soft until they quit making them. After probably 20 different balls, I have settled on the Callaway Warbird, they are about $20-21 USD and I keep a dozen of the Noodle Soft that are abou $16 USD. The Warbirds are nice and since I am not good enough and still lose balls so i don't but the premium balls. I know that Noodle gets a bad rep, but the Long and Soft are actually pretty good for the $. I would say the best for the $16 price range. And they perform just as good as the Warbirds, maybe a few yards shorter off the tee, but iron shorts and green side are good.
I picked up the Honma D1's when American Golf had them for £10 a dozen, was pleasantly surprised that it didn't feel like I was hitting rocks!
I used these yesterday as they were on offer for 36 balls for £36. Bizarrely, i found these balls excellent in approach and short game. But felt terrible off the tee. Mind i had been working a different swing on my drives to correct some habits in my swing path and club face, so probably more to do with that. But even on the drives I pured it didn't feel great.
Been playing these for a year now , the last version didn't have the black line , makes a massive difference
I'm new to Golfing (about six months now) and I've been buying these balls mostly because the price point is good and they come from a company with a good reputation. However I've used many different golf balls that buddies have given me from Kirklands to Pro VI and I'm still playing between 90 and 100. When should a player start to "feel" the golf ball because right now they all pretty much feel the same to me.
James I myself have a 75-80 swing speed so finding that extra length off the tee would be an advantage! Also got a new bit of kit coming my way soon! Going back to Callaway after a fitting and landed with Ai Smoke, slower swing speed increased ball speed!
Been gaming Ping for about 6years!
Enough of the nattering, my question is do you think length off the tee and adapting to less spin in a golf ball will be advantageous for a 13 handicapper?
Your thoughts please??!!
I bought some of these for last winter and they weren't too bad to be honest.
I haven't actually tried them out since the ground started firming up. Might just give it a go this weekend
the long ball of my day were the Ultra and the Spalding Molitor
This is the ball that I play most of the time. Good price and I seem to get pretty good control around the greens.
My distance ball back in the day was Top Flite XL 😊
Been using these ‘budget’ balls for a while now, for your average Joe like me they feel good and I like the markings for putting too as I can never be bothered to draw a line on them
It seems many of these two piece balls play very well! My buddies play the Callaway Supersoft and they are are very good players! Interesting!
Gents, as a 30.5 Handicaper, this is one of my go to balls. I pay about $17.99 per dozen and can play one ball more than one round.
Played in a charity event at the ridge at the weekend and on the par 5 14th 489 yards hit drive and 58 degree and 1 putt! not bad for a 55 year old with bad back using an AV
Try the Cut golf red. Have played most budget balls and won’t be switching anytime soon
Thanks for reviewing this James! I requested this a few months ago and having this in the bag myself, I wanted to see what you boys thought of it! Living in Aus, these balls are everywhere! Love the alignment aid and they’re amazing value for money.
Keep the good stuff coming fellas!
they do look great for the money. exactly what i was think a winter ball. we are going that way soon so may be just in time
Top-Flite Remember them from the late 60s? The first two piece ball. In Winter you could shatter them with a driver.
I’ve played these. Reasonable price but need to make sure the ball works with my swing speed. I used to think that ball fitting was a joke. No longer
I hear the camerawoman has gained confidence, a definite whoo hoo when you cut the ball🤣🤣
Could be chris 😆
Hi James,
Paul,
I have a question, colour of golf ball , I do not mind if the ball is one two or 4 colours for me it's brightness. I just last week went from a Green, Yellow or other colours wilson duo to my first ever MUSTARD BRIDGESTONE BALL and all they lack is a bright red line across it , because I've done this and they are great to see as you will find if I lose any at Woolley, so why do makers of golf balls not make it easier and make them bright colours , they used to for fun at Xmas. I am not one for putting with the line straight for me it's a finding of the ball only . I even lost one on the 8th at Woolley 2nd shot down the centre of fairway .
Paul
P.S.
FOR YOUR VIEWERS AND MEMBERS OF FIXBY AND WOOLLEY COULD YOU DO A VIDEO ON BALL COLOUR ESPECIALLY NOW WET FAIRWAYS TO SEE WHICH HALVED OR COLOUR IS BEST .
THANKS HOPE TO SEE YOU FILMING ON COURSE .
PAUL
Titleist Velocity. Very good performance.
Test the Taylor Made distance ball against the bridge stone distance ball
Quick suggestion.
When you're using shot tracer, have your cameraman stay in place until the ball reaches the ground. Camera moving to get a nicer angle moves the whole trace line, and it's distracting.
It’s her first week 🤘🏼
I have been using the distance+ for many years found them ok
Awesome ball review again guy’s
They're not super cheap, but I'd love to hear what you lads have to say to the new Callaway ERC Soft.
Srixon distance, normally what I play. I don’t lose many but I can’t bring my self to risk losing a £2 in a bush
playing the kirkland at the moment and for the price and control its hard to beat
I just started gaming the Cut Blue. Nice 4 piece ball for $19.99 here in America. The Cut Grey is also a really nice 3 piece ball (same price as the Blue). It's not quite as long as the Blue (5 to 10 yards) but incredible spin off the short irons. I really like them both. If you haven't tested them yet you should. I think you'll like them.
Nitro! That's what I think of when I think of distance balls.
I have played this ball. A friend of mine gets these for promotional purposes for his company, so I sometimes get some overflow balls. Sometimes I really hit these nice and far. And then other times, not so much. Maybe there is an issue with consisitency of the balls. I would expect TM to have tight specs, but then maybe not so much on the less expensive balls.
its not the ball, its you
@@blade643 Golf balls vary in consistency more than people believe. That is the big unseen problem with cheap balls. They look just fine on the outside, but the inside is all over the place. The thicknesses vary and they are out of round. And I know a heck of a lot more about my golf game than you do.
Where could I send some golf balls for you & Chris to test? They would be shipped from the states.
Taylormade V3 (3 piece) ball is a step up from this too. Not sure if you get these in the UK? $30 here so around £20 for 12. I could send some if you’re interested in testing?
If course you can get them in the UK 😃
These are my 🥶 Winter Balls great alignment aid
Lads have you done the prov1x left dash?
Not a ‘balls’ comment. But, we’d love to hear your thoughts on grips, make of grip, type of grip, and most importantly the width of a grip. I have recently put a midsize grip on my driver which will hopefully stop me or reduce me from turning my hands over. I’m sure lots of subscribers would potentially learn something from a pga pro on this
I'm interested in seeing the difference between this ball and the TaylorMade Noodle ball. The Noodle has the same characteristics advertised on the package. Both are 2 piece balls. Could they be the same ball?
Noodle has a 34 compression whereas the Distance+ has a 77 compression.
Ultra distance or molitor distance were the pebbles
I get 24 of these for $35 at my local Edwin watts and they are amazing
Been using the TaylorMade Noodle Long and Soft ball this year. Budget friendly and premium look and feel. Perhaps compare it with the TP5.
Well done James 👏
James, how is Mark doing with his game these days? Miss seeing him on the channel.⛳️
Good review but I think most people don't want to spend 4- 5 dollars for a golf ball that's why this price range is popular
I'm a 16 handicap I use Taylor made noodle golf balls they do every thing I need them too do
I pay £22.99 for a dozen rzn tour golf balls there fab and for a premium ball that's a great price
distance ball for me is the velocity
Callaway for me but l play what I find 👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I cannot believe James hasn't tried the Chromax ball yet.
Pinnacle-Rockssss
We have Mars bars in Canada.
Please put the tacer camera on a tripod.
I've tried all TM golf balls I still prefer callaways I find TM are like rocks I love prov1 for around the greens but too expensive so I settled for chrome soft
Is Mrs Robinson the new Camera person?
Currently gaming the Srixon
Nitro - 45 balls for $24.99…They go along way…
I hit nice balls as far into the woods as the lake balls
Taylormade’s worst ball and probably even my least favorite of the value golf balls. I prefer Titleist Trufeel for budget ball or Srixons over the Tm Distance. Used to play Tm Tour response and Project A. But now that Tm has raised the price to 39.99 a dozen…I’m out
Got a hole in one last year playing this ball 😃
mmmmmmm milky way so good
I will stick with Kirkland Balls which are better balls and actually cost less.
Funny you're the only one mentioning the Kirklands. I agree. I just picked up 2 dozen for $24. That's hard to beat.
@@brettb4452 after all the positive reviews I decided to try them out and we're very impressed I used to play with El cheapo's like nitro golf balls and they're like hitting marbles. Kirkland's feel like a premium ball especially the 2.0 version
@@paulmcgee1867 no one buys a membership just to get golf balls.
Lol not in Australia they don’t. $56AUD for 24 balls. I just got 24 of these for $40AUD.
This ball feels like you’re hitting a rock!
Longest ball I’ve seen at the home range. Consistantly further
Noodles are half price same ball different package
Titleist velocity 🤷♂️
You 2 are definitely laurel and hardy lol
Wrong, we have mars bars and milky way too.
Have you got something against bridgestone balls, you test the shit out of taylormade and others,, how about the tour B XS , no one has put a test of theres this year ,,y, are you biased ?
The alignment aid makes them look cheap, same goes for the Q Stars.
Titleist pro v
Honestly used these balls. The fee just isn’t good enough. Fine for winter though
Hi James
Got to be callaway Crome .sports direct.£13 a dozen
