i love when companies venture off out of the norm. i loved the white drivers an d the colored drivers from cobra back in the day. seeing designs on golf balls is a plus for me.
Glad you read my post on your other video and tested these. I tested these against the new CHROME TOUR and ProV1 on the course on a great sunny day. Performed great off the tee and actually rolled better on the green during putts. Ive never liked the feel of the TP5 or TP5X but the SPEEDSOFT,... I LOVE THEM!!
You also ask what ball I use Callaway Chrome Soft or Taylor made or Titleist. I usually get them for Father’s Day Christmas birthday etc…. I am much more consistent with the Callaway’s though
Hi James. Yes I have purchased a dozen of the blue ink Super soft golf balls. Since we had 2 inches of rain this morning I’m not trying them out today. I did try the Tp5x and I was surprised at the distance. I hope the ink golf ⛳️ balls have the same or more distance as the TP5x
Callaway Supersoft is my favorite ball. These Speedsofts were designed to compete with the Supersoft's which is the number one selling soft ball. A friend of mine just gave me a sleeve of the Ink balls. Compression of the Inks is under 50. Compression of the Supersofts is under 40.
Volvik Vivid, Srixon Soft Feel, and Bridgestone RX. If I'm playing a new course, I play the cheaper balls. If the course has forced carries, I have some Nitros I can donate to the fish. I have TM Stripes for putting practice. You can't beat that stripe in terms of instant visual feedback. And when you putt it right and it just curves with the break and the line is straight...that's a good putt.
im currently playing Titleist AVX. Love the low launch and longer distance. Dont love the high price. I hit a few SpeedSofts and they feel good to me, but a little shorter. will continue to experiment with them.
I like the idea of the color. I don't buy white balls anymore because they're often hard to see. I'm currently playing the Srixon Q Star Divide in yellow and red. Good performance, reasonable price and easier to find when I hit them out of bounds.
I've been practicing chipping indoors since the weather has turned and I wanted to see what kind of spin I was getting, so I grabbed one of these out of my wife's bag so I could see the RPM's with the paint. This ball is so buttery soft for chipping and I get great height and spin with them compared to my normal balls (Srixon Q-Star Tour and Taylormade Tour Response). It was really shocking and I might switch to it. I haven't hit it off of a tee box obviously, but around the green, I think they'd be amazing.
I found one of these on course and used it recently. I thought it felt great throughout the bag including the putter. The only thing i noticed was around 10-15 yards loss in driver distance. I've been using Tour Response this season andfind these very similar apart from the driver. Overall i thought they were a great ball.
I just ordered a bunch of white Speedsofts. As an older, inconsistent player the cost was a huge factor. I think the Soft Response is noticeably short so I hope the SpeedSofts will be better.
Ive just switched from the Srixon AD333 to these got bored of the standard white an yellow balls. I'm quite new to golf and lose some balls each round I love the TP5 pix but can't justify the price until I'm lot better these offer cool designs good performance and a more wallet friendly price.
I’d try these to compare to the Callaway Supersoft. I imagine the compression is similar (don’t believe you mentioned the compression rating in your vid). Not crazy about the ink. White or yellow for me.
Been playing the Tour Response all summer, but just bought some Speed Soft as we approach winter golf. I noticed immediately how they just launched without changing the effort level. So far so good. Your review confirms my point of view. 🧐
I recently got a shipment in of the Speed Softs. I gotta say for a 2 piece ball they are off the charts. They check up well for me, distances are good and feel nice off of all my clubs. They hold green well. Price is good. The performance of this ball is way way above average for a budget priced ball. Honestly made me feel like I was playing with a premium ball. One thing for sure its a premium ball of its price category. A very nice choice for seniors .
I personally love a funky colour ball, I used to play the ping 2 coloured ball all of the time, so yeah I'd definitely play these especially as they look like they also perform well. I'm a high handicapper so a cheaper ball is always nice as I tend to lose some fairly often. Not sure green is a great colour option though if that goes off into the deep rough it would be like trying to spot a sniper in camouflage gear. But the Red, Blue and Orange I'd definitely try.
One of the fellows I play with found a pink splash and he thought he would be cute and handed it to me while saying pink right up your alley. I used it and had 3 pars and a bird going in. I showed up for our next round with the pink splash in my bag. I really like them and at $25 a dozen perfect for a mid handicap senior
I found one on the course and tried it... and I love it. And got on green in 2 twice! On par 5s. And chipping felt great. Contemplating switching from scrixon q tour
yup ordered a dozen blue and a dozen red also ordered the striped in orange look forward to testing them out great video James cheers from Vulcan Canada
Yes the ink pattern is designed to be perfectly aerodynamic. Also the colours are designed for maximum ball flight. The blue pigment means on average from a drive it will carry 280 yards every time. 😂
I currently play the Bridgestone Tour B, RXS. I play these because I went through their "in person" testing a few years ago. I do like the looks of this new TM ball. They retail for $26.00 at my club. Literally, 1/2 the price of the TP series balls. Completely different target audience.
I'm using the Vice Pro and Pro V1's. I have also recently been playing with the Titleist TruFeel golf balls in yellow that I was able to get for $12.50 a box at Walmart and I must say I have been pleasantly surprised.
fun, cheap and super soft (low compression). Perfect for us high handicappers happy to be outdoors loving and learning the game. These are in my bag (I do practice putt with the stripes, but spare those the indignity of my course playing) and at this price I don’t morn their inevitable loss.
I have the chromesoftt triple track, chromesoft truvis and liked them. I tried the TM TR stripe and it is great. I was switching to that as it is cheaper than the chromesoft. Then I just got the deal that titleist is doing and got pro V1’s for $44 a dozen when you buy 3 dozen you get a 4th dozen free same price as the TM TR stripe. I have golf balls for the next a few years now since I don’t lose many on the courses I play. This looks like a great golf ball.
I found a Vice ball on the course one day and used it for the rest of the round. I bought the variety pack and found that the Vice Pro Plus works extremely well for me. I haven't lost a ball in several rounds and I hit more fairways and greens.
Currently using the tour response because it replaced my favorite TM ball the project-a but Iv been wanting to try out the speed soft so thank you for this video.
Last year, I played Kirkland. But over the winter off-season, I got new gear and looked into balls for my slower swing speed, as I felt the Kirkland were sometimes hurting my hands. Haven’t hit a course yet but I got some Srixon Soft Feels so I’m looking forward to trying them.
Im 2 and a half years into golf, so still basically new. From the get go i was told don't worry about balls because you'll lose them and i agree. But then as i started to improve i realised after hearing something like "the golf ball is the only consistent thing you can get in golf" i understood that. so started using Pro V1, now playing off 14. Lose like 1 ball a round, if that. i tried the tour response stripe the other week as want to improve putting and love the stripe guidance. but my high swing speed i cant get on with them compared to Pro V1. I hit driver over 300 yards and the Pro V definitely helps, whereas softer balls seem to come off too spiny for me. So i might give these a go for the price. Thanks for the review as always James
I hit driver over 300 yards, too - 220 forward, 100 to the right. If I had a dollar for every internet golf hero (who lives in his mom’s basement and drives a Dodge Neon), who claims to hit the ball 300+ yards but has only done it once with the aid of a 30mph tailwind and a sprinkler head or cart path, I’d be a rich man. I bet you date supermodels, too.
tried them for the first time this week feel good for a 2 piece ball found them a little shorter than some of the other balls tried must admit they do go high
Looking at them as an alternative to Callaway Supersoft in colder weather but not in the ink version, just the solid yellow. Rest of the year I’m with you, James, in using TM Tour Response Stripe.
I could definitely see myself trying out those golf balls. I like the look of them, especially the one with the red splashes. I tend to struggle getting height on my shots so that attribute is appealing. The price isn’t too bad either.
Great ball for the price. It is very good with woods and irons but I hate putting with it. There's too much going on and I find it hard to line it up. However I am now playing the white version and I love it. Well done Taylormade!
Good regiew James, I nearly bought some last week, but felt they were more a fashion statement than a good golf ball. This review has made me want to buy a dozen now to see how I go with them
I prefer a classic white ball. Will stick to my Seed ball. Great feeling and love the black alignment simple line. Still not sure which one i prefer between the sd01 and sdx1 tho…
As a cat 1 golfer I use tp5. For short game really I can check it & get up & down. Something I can’t do with a harder cheaper ball. However I’m going to try these balls. If you’re getting them to check they’ll save me a fortune. The other ball I was really interested was the old Kirkland. They performed & felt like a premium ball I thought. But the new ones aren’t as good in my opinion. Could just be me. But thanks for this upload matey I’ll give this a blast. Love your content you seem a top lad. Well done. 👏
Correction? James, you said the Speedsoft spun less off the driver but the chart said they spun over 700 rpm’s more? Did you flip flop the two spin numbers or is the SpeedSoft’s spin number supposed to start with a “1” instead of a “2”? Also, it would be very helpful to see the launch angle of the ball and the peak height on your charts. Thanks. I always enjoy your videos.
Thanks for the good video on these balls. I'd been wondering about them, although recently fell in love with the new TP5. But . . . nevermind the golf balls - when are you going to do a video teaching us how to juggle balls on our wedges??? : )
I use tp5x great ball ..looking for a cheaper ball which does close to the same thing ..don’t mind AVX by titiless but way to costly 78.00 back a box??
James, I am a member of Costco but also a company that started the whole big box sales called SAMS Club. You may or may not have heard of it. Anyway, they sale a box of 24 "VICE PRO" golf balls for $49.00. Granted these balls do not have the colorful splash artwork of the "VICE PRO" balls you get anywhere else, however they are a three-piece urethane covered ball with the same dimple count. Not sure what the difference is. Could you test them please? I've really enjoyed them, and they have helped my game. Picked up about 12-15 yards of distance and they stop on a dime on approach shots with any midrange-short irons or wedges. Just curious more than anything if they are the same ball and I'm just getting a good deal? Thanks!!!
You and Chris Dennis sold me on Seed SD-01 for 2024. So far, I really like them. I do like the graphics companies are making these days, though. Golf shouldn't be boring, IMO.
Leaving this comment before watching the review but I found these to be longer than the pro v1x but not very controlled, hated the feel when putting too. I've been playing either the ProV1x or Maxfli Tour X - actually really loved the MaxFli Tour X at Golfgalaxy/Dick's, and they sell the 4 dozen box for $100 which was a steal... I do also really like the Tour Stripe from TM but like the v1x or tour x from MaxFli. I switch around for different holes/shots haha. Still muddy on the courses so I pick the muddy ball up and drop clean ones
I use the Callaway superfast. You get 15 for 25-30 bucks and it's plenty soft around the green, and doesn't spin like crazy with the woods. Super underrated
I’m currently trying the OnCore Vero X 1. So for I love it. Great spin from short irons and around the greens and seems to go little straighter off the driver.
James i play Taylor made distance which to me seems identical to these new balls and only cost £16 I don’t see the difference between them and this new ball and i can save £10 Just wonder what your thoughts are? Also I play at pyrford lakes golf club in Surrey would love to see you boys come down, golf life ( tubes and ange) always here but interesting to see how pros go around I play off 16 and it’s not a long course but loads of hazards if you get a chance to come down would be great to see Always great content tho 👍
Currently playing Callaway Superfast in high-vis yellow. I'm mildly colorblind and it's easier for me to see yellow balls than any other color. Because of that, I won't be trying these. Performance aside, the graphic pattern actually feels kind of retro...late 80s/early 90s, when splashes of neon colors were a common decorative element.
@@josephdubiel7129 I found that out since I posted... 😀 I like them...something about Taylormade's hi-vis yellow color makes it work well for me, because I used to play the Distance+ in hi-vis yellow and it was easy for me to track, as well. The Distance+ was unavailable for a while, so I started hunting for other options (and learned the hard way that there's a difference between "yellow" and "hi-vis yellow", because I struggled with a few different yellow options.)
My casual games where i dont care where the balls go i enjoy using noodle balls. Super cheap and really soft. When i want to try more i like the callaway chrome soft. But these new taylormade ink look sick and i want to try them
They do plain white ones if the ink colour is too much for people, price point is good, I prefer to use softer balls but don’t want to sacrifice distance. Worth a try though good video James as always 🏌️♀️
i love when companies venture off out of the norm. i loved the white drivers an d the colored drivers from cobra back in the day. seeing designs on golf balls is a plus for me.

I like the ink splash. It looks good but i would still have to putt with the tour response. The alignment aid is alot better.

Absolutely yes, they are designed for average swing speeds, I currently use the Distance+ and I like them; I am looking forward to trying this ball.
Have you tested these TM to see where the “sweet spot” is on the balls. Both ink & stripe balls.
im currently playing Titleist AVX. Love the low launch and longer distance. Dont love the high price. I hit a few SpeedSofts and they feel good to me, but a little shorter. will continue to experiment with them.

Yes
No it won’t but a foot wedge can always fix a slice.

Bought some last week. Love em. Played in windy conditions and performed really well. Can’t wait to use em in Summer!
You never did do an on course review of the Wilson MB's and CB's , did you ?
Nope not yet
I have a high swing speed, not always ideal, so I have decided to try the Bridgestone E9

@@WisGuy4I got you beat. My slices roll 150 to the right. All I have is swing speed. Me connecting the golf ball is iffy at best 😂

Vice Pro Plus. Fantastic golf ball which does everything I want. I had thought that this Taylor made had come out for slower swing speeds.
Since they have a soft feel, I might give those a try this summer.
Looking at them as an alternative to Callaway Supersoft in colder weather but not in the ink version, just the solid yellow. Rest of the year I’m with you, James, in using TM Tour Response Stripe.
I'm using the TM Stripe and will mix up with the Pix in the summer, Amarila Golf looking good, is it always windy...going back soon 🏌️
I just got some of the blue and I love the look I'm excited to get out on the course may be may main ball.
I am currently use Kirkland golf balls!! I love them!!
Splodges of colour, break up outline, harder to see among the leaves, sell more balls. Brilliant!
Yea I thought they have a ‘camouflage’ look to them. If you’re not hitting the fairway then I suspect they are more difficult to find.
No harder to find than any other……
They are quite easy to find , the splotches draw the eye.
@@andymccall6861 Yep, No issue there for me.
They're 75% white dude if you'd struggle to see these then you'd struggle to see any ball

I’m currently using the Trust Aurora and they’re great. After your review, I might give these a go. They look very playable for a 2 piece ball.
How would the speedsoft do with people, with much slower swing speeds ie seniors
Great ball for the price. It is very good with woods and irons but I hate putting with it. There's too much going on and I find it hard to line it up. However I am now playing the white version and I love it. Well done Taylormade!

How is the reverse taper grip? Signed up to try and purchase early.
Tour response stripe but like the look of these

Ive been using taylormade distance plus golf ball in yellow amazing ball 3 for 2 on these just now dont know if u,ve tested these balls james
have bought the ink ball and love it
Definitely an option at a good price. Not easy to identify your own ball as there's no room for your markings!
James i play Taylor made distance which to me seems identical to these new balls and only cost £16 I don’t see the difference between them and this new ball and i can save £10
Just wonder what your thoughts are?
Also I play at pyrford lakes golf club in Surrey would love to see you boys come down, golf life ( tubes and ange) always here but interesting to see how pros go around
I play off 16 and it’s not a long course but loads of hazards if you get a chance to come down would be great to see
Always great content tho 👍
Currently playing Callaway Superfast in high-vis yellow. I'm mildly colorblind and it's easier for me to see yellow balls than any other color. Because of that, I won't be trying these. Performance aside, the graphic pattern actually feels kind of retro...late 80s/early 90s, when splashes of neon colors were a common decorative element.
Speed soft is also made in a high visibility yellow. :)
4 mins 12 the sound of the ball cutting through the wind ooooooof crispy
Just subscribed to your channel because of your juggling with the golf ball. That was awesome and pure talent. 👍🏼
I am a hard driver on irons , woods these ball grab the green great and fly long too ., will be buying more
My casual games where i dont care where the balls go i enjoy using noodle balls. Super cheap and really soft. When i want to try more i like the callaway chrome soft. But these new taylormade ink look sick and i want to try them
Callaway supersoft is my choice, for some reason I don't like coloured balls I find them hard to look at.
Chrome soft I will give these a try in a plain color
Tried them, launched too high for me. Will go back to the Srixon Softfeel.
They do plain white ones if the ink colour is too much for people, price point is good, I prefer to use softer balls but don’t want to sacrifice distance. Worth a try though good video James as always 🏌️♀️
Trying the 24 TP5 😊
I use Chrome Soft, TP5, Vice Pro, and Volvik Vivid.
