For 2 years I had a subscription for 3 dz. for $34 on Amazon. They weren't the soft version but for under a dollar a ball I was very pleased with the RBZ.

I bought a box of these about a year ago when I was feeling poor because they were about $10 cheaper (in New Zealand) than my usual AD333's. They have become my go to ball. I think they're ridiculously good value. They're carried here by our biggest golf retail chain so pretty easy to get hold of and pretty much the cheapest ball around. I don't like a hard ball, but I also don't like one that feels too 'dull'. I actually prefer the more 'lively' feel. The 60 compression is ideal for my average swing speed. This is one of those products where now I've found them, my only worries are that they'll stop making them or change them or the price will go up. But for the moment these balls suit me perfectly. I lose ALOT of golf balls (18 hcp) and I am not a rich man, so I'm glad I discovered these. I still enjoy playing with a Pro V1 if I find one or my partner buys me a box for a special occasion, but otherwise, the RBZ Soft is my go to.

Once again, Matt, I like that you hit so many shots when testing equipment. And the real on-course testing. So many testers just hit 5 shots into a screen and pronounce the product good or bad, and your more thorough approach is much appreciated.
I would love to see a shoot-out with a few of these inexpensive softer ionomer balls. Maybe Callaway Supersoft, Srixon Soft Feel, Titleist TruFeel? I don't imagine there would be a huge difference, but then I don't know because hardly anyone tests them or gets real numbers on them.
    Keep up the good work!

Why isn’t distance 10/10 if you are hitting it as long as a ProV1? Are there balls that blow the ProV1 out of the water on distance? What would a ten even look like?

I use these quite a bit, they have them in Sports Direct. As someone who’s a high handicapper I tend to lose a lot of balls so can’t justify a more expensive ball. I have been getting better and have a few rounds recently with the same ball so if that continues I might look at a more premium ball but for the moment these are great

I use to use them when I was starting out and then slowly moved more premium as I got more confident. I use these over the winter so I’m not losing my tp5s, plugged in the softer fairways. For the price you can’t beat them although for an extra few quid you can get the ad333’s which are a little softer in my opinion

Thanks for doing the review Matt! I asked on your previous ball review. I am enjoying playing it and have hit some decent drives with the RBZ as well as 80 yd approaches. Have left a few short of the flag because there is more check than some of the bricks I've played in the past. Not the balls fault, I just need to hit a bit harder and trust the great check they give!
Hit a long hippo rescue club shot from the fairway today 190 yd dead straight, one bounce onto the green leaving a 15 ft birdie putt ..I was thrilled to bits as it was a pb for distance/accuracy. They are now £13.49 a dozen so , Will keep buying RBZ I think ,can get 40 odd for the price of a dozen premium balls, so a good deal for this average golfer!

Matt I've tried these balls. Mayne I'm more the guy it's aimed for I'm 10 handicapper for a winter ball I tried the RBZs I think like you I didn't like it off the driver how it went a bit wild on me some shots were slices like you you said hit well I felt I hit well but veered offline. I then went to the taylormade distance plus golf ball same price 14.99 a dozen. these balls I actually found performed better in all departments driver distance and side spin control on the greens off wedges and irons great sounded light though of the face same as putter you called it springy. I found them both light off the face and made them spring more but you adapt to them or get a putter eith a soft insert. I think for people out there in my opinion the distance ball is actually a better ball that might just be me but I'd advise people to try them out if they think the RBZ is OK to try the distance the compression is 77 but I thought they were quite responsive. In the UK to play winter golf the ball is going to get muddy wet and scrwtcjed so durability as you rightly say is also a big factor etc you don't want to use a good ball yo lose it under a leaf or throw it away. The balls I use in summer comps is taylormade tour response at my level it's a great ball and I believe and feel confident in that ball but for winter golf in the UK the distance suits me the best it's what I'm looking for really to get me through winter. So anyone using RBZs give them a go yo and see what you think. Callaway warbirds are also worth a go agsin harder ball bjt 15 quid your not going to get that premium soft feel from like me tour response at 35 quid a dozen but on soft greens that plug no roll etc there really isn't any benefits to me in the tour response to distance in winter when you consider the price.

Thanks for the test. Will stick with my Callaways - especially since I always have a few Titleist Pro V1 in the bag that I find while waiting for slow players. I lose balls to water hazards, so the Titleist balls make as good a splash as any other. Otherwise, those Callaways are really nice in the short game.
    HOWEVER
Saw these Bridgestone E12 Contact balls marked down recently and bought a box - $29.95 for a dozen. Not bad at all. Had found one and liked it. Only played one round with them and think they may replace Callaway, until 2023 when everyone comes out with the new latest and greatest anyway. So maybe you could get a box of the Bridgestones and test them? Then again, these are us folks with older bodies and slower swing speeds than you, by about 20 mph if I was reading your monitor correctly.
Feel better about my new swing though, when I really am hitting my driver long, mine tends to go right too.

Matt, if a ball manufacturer tried selling the softest ball they can to a budget. i.e went all in on feel and made no claims on distance, (maybe a really thick cover?) Do we think it would actually be that bad for the average Sunday golfer? Every ball claims the classic feel distance straight triple threat haha. @johnjutton103 Год назад

@@thesetzers8952 the ball also seemed to have good check on it. I have used these balls myself the RBZs and to be perfectly honest I didn't se yo much wrong but I did feel the distance balls performed slightly better for straighter shots and also gave you check on the ball for winter for a mid handicapper like me I'm a whs 10.7 the taylormade distance is a great budget ball. You have to rember He's constantly using a pro v1 there is no way a 14 quid a dozen ball will perform like a 45 quid a dozen ball. He's also able to fade and draw the ball on his game as much as he wants and can control spin. If your a mid handicap like me who has a good idea what he's doing still you want a ballto me thwt does 3 things 1 sounds good off the face 2 has strsight distance and 3 slows up and checks but doesn't backspin on the green thwts the best ball for us so a tour response ball is my competition ball I play. If I was to use pro v1 which I hve it isn't the best ball for me because whatever fault I have all I'm gonna do is exaggerate the fault because that ball is designed for a player who knows how much he will fde and draw the ball and backspin it which I don't that's why if anyone should review these balls it's mid handicappers. Honestly there is nothing wrong with the taylormade distance balls I've tried the lot I've tried warbirds srixon soft feels all the mid range budget balls and there probsbly the best for winter golf. I think I did a video review on the master prism balls but don't use them they are actually ok for casual but not in comps not that good 😀
