Can I just say this is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. I was lucky enough to go and see him live back in October of last year. He introduced this lovely lady that he is singing with and her story is absolutely amazing. The story of how they wrote this and everything that came along with it is just so beautiful and touching. I am so glad I got to hear them play this song live and to really experience this for myself. It really is truly a life-changing thing to hear someone say something that you've always thought. What I mean is that we all should think the way he thinks and we should all support each other.

    We could be the healin'
    When you're feeling all alone
    We could be the reason
To find the strength to carry on
In a world that's so divided
    We shall overcome
    We could be the healing
We can be the flower in the gun
    We could be the healing
We can be the flower in the gun
What would I say to my son or to my daughter
If they came and asked me bout these days
What kinda reason could I give for all the hate that's standing in the way
Wish I could tell em that nobody's gonna judge them
And every stranger on the block is gonna love them
No bully in the world will ever hurt em
But I can't say that today
    Woah-oh
No one could ever take your pride from you
Speak your truth and let your spirit fly
Cause we could be the healin'
    When you're feeling all alone
    We could be the reason
To find the strength to carry on
In a world that's so divided
    We shall overcome
    We could be the healing
We can be the flower in the gun
    We could be the healing
We can be the flower in the gun
What could I say to every woman who was ever told
By a man donl try to reach too high
What could I say to every girl who was betrayed
And told to keep the pain locked inside
Wish I could say nobody's ever judge me
Every stranger on the block is gonna love me
No bully in the world is gonna hurt me
But I can't say that today
    Woah-oh
No one could ever take my pride from me

    We shall overcome
    We could be the healing
We can be the flower in the gun
    We could be the healing
We can be the flower in the gun
Ifs like somebody dropping a pebble into a pond
And sending ripples out to the world
    Woah
    Woah
    Yeah
    Yeah
    Woah (Everybody say)
    Woah
    Yeah
    Yeah
    Woah
Woah (We could be the healing)

Thank you for being one of the strongest musical visionaries for disarming hate. I do my part through education - hello to the tribe you reach out to globally - cultivating a world of we...

Heard this in the bathroom at my job and immediately searched it up. I cried in my car...and then saw the video and was even more moved. I have family affected by gun violence and get emotional whenever hearing of another shooting

Thank you for this song! I'm 61 and remember the flowers in the guns at Kent state. You guys made me cry! My brother committed suicide by gun. Keep up the great work!

Who dislikes songs like this, this is a song everyone needs to hear and truly pay attention to. If we all put aside pride and greed and actually start giving a f#*k about each other, I can see the human race get back on track. Stay safe my brothers and sisters.
