Good news in the end, definitely the right choice to have PPF. Just a shame that there are idiots out there intent on doing damage to other people’s property 🤬

Fitting a Dash Cam front & rear would also be a good idea.
The person vandalising the car, would have been filmed.
And if someone hits your vehicle etc, and says you were at fault, the Dash Cam footage proves otherwise…

Had this done to my Mercedes eclass coupe , I save so hard to treat myself after many issues in personal life and someone keyed the same, I didnt have ppf as it not that sort of car but my bill was 2000 pound for some clown with a key

So sorry this happened to your car. Unfortunately there are people who don't have good in their heart. Not sure if you have the drive recorder because it's supposed to record 360 degrees around the car which may have captured the person on the cameras. Glad the PPF protected it though.

I had my car keyed from front to rear never missed a panel , did not have PPF ( was not around at that time ) the insurance payed for it ,
I’m sure you could get the metallic paint repaired much cheaper and without having to paint the whole panel.
My car still bears the Mark of a key under its mirror nearly 15 years ago. No PPF. Just touch up paint. Humans can be disgusting. Much best wishes from me to you.

I always have the front and rear dash cam (with parking mode) installed from the first day. These people need to be caught and reported.

On a side note (i know this didn't happen to yours) I have seen fat woman walking between cars at shopping centers and their purses drag along cars and scratch all along the side. A lot of purses have metal corners. I don`t park in shopping centers anymore after seeing it happen more than once.
