Flew in the trainer version in 1961 when I was a 14 year old Civil Air Patrol cadet in Montgomery, AL. Did a basic aerobatic routine, flew over my home and wagged the wings for my Mother. I still vividly remember that experience. It distressing that today ordinary teenagers are so smothered with protection that they will never experience things like this. As I remember, I only had to have a handwritten note, no legalese, from my parents. Thanks for the memories!
Even At 70 I can still remember seeing many T-33's as a young boy. We lived just across the road from Wright-Patterson AFB and there were several in and out of the base. Oh what a time that was, as the Air Force was still retiring the last of it Propellor/recip powered fleet to the jets. One would still see 2 and 4 engined transports and occasionally an EC 121 NORAD Connie would make an appearance.
Dad had a 109 missions in the F-80 in Korea. Always spoke highly of Lockheed and this aircraft. Was actually a Kelly Johnson design born out of the skunk-works.😊
My first airplane in the AF at Elmendorf AFB, AK 1985 and I love the plane. Pretty much tore it apart every #2 PE and then putting them back together. Sad days when we sent all of them(except 1 that is on static display on base, acft 021) to Davis Monthan for foreign sales. Very dependable aircraft and will forever be one of my favorites.
In the 50's, my buddy Jim and I would ride out balloon tired bikes out to Milwaukee's Mitchell Field to watch WIS ANG pilots practice in their copper nosed P-51's and then transitioning to P-80 Shooting Stars, loved 'em both, still do!
Love this aircraft, beautiful in it's simplicity, yet pretty agile. My ol' man flew this in the Colombian air force in the 80s before they replaced them with french Mirage 5s and Israeli K-firs

So cool! The T-33 was still active in 1984-1986 with the 49th FIS when I was at Griffiss AFB.
Good to see such a rare bird still flying today.

Great video 👍 🎥
My uncle were flying this and then went to fly f14 tomcat.
Beautiful jet but I wonder what it's real like capabilities are instead of just flat flying seriously
Looked like the pilot was having a difficult time with this one.
A 30+ knot cross wind will do that!
Why do they wear oxygen on these low altitude demonstrations?
