Normal chaingun:
4 barrel chaingun: A10 Warthog
In Doom Eternal the mobile turret attachment has 4 groups of barels, each group has 3 barels THAT MEANS THE DOOM SLAYER IS CARRING A 12 BAREL MINI GUN.

Doom 2016 chain gun sounds more like the A-10. ( just saying)
So what does the normal Chaingun?
Vanilla Chaingun = 20mm Vulcan, Mobile Turret Chaingun = 30mm Gatling Gun of A-10. 😎
The mobile turret is what gets me. Music to my ears.

1:24 I honestly never noticed the sliding in the gun even after maining heat blast for 2 months and wrapping up my 3rd playthrough of the game.

Don't worry. I didn't know that the chaingun ammo feeder actually rotated with the chaingun firing until my ninth playthrough. The detail in this game is insane.
Also, when you fire the micro missiles (in both games) the light that signals that the micro missiles are activated goes out. It's crazy how much detail they put into D16 and DE

All the futuristic guns sound great in both Doom and Doom Eternal, but the bullet firing weapons sound off and not as good as Doom 2016, you could actually hear the gun shots ego, now it’s just an instant sound then silence...
You can actually hear the actual **THUMP** of the gun.
I know 2016 made an outstanding gun sound design, but you can give some to DOOM Eternal as well.
I liked eternal’s gameplay better, but I admit that the sound design was better in 2016.
Maybe it’s just me, but the shotgun and super shotgun sound *godly* in Eternal when they sounded a little off in 2016 imo.
The heavy cannon, on the other hand, should’ve had its primary fire sound effect swapped with that of 2016’s heavy AR. Fucking love the sound of the latter but I love the sound of the heavy cannon precision bolt, and the fact that those two sounds would sound great together makes me wish we could have the best of both worlds.
@@PeterJamesVillegas Yeah, I like the metal sound of the gun clanging, but you can't hear the "BOOM" propelling the bullet very well. It still seems to be there, but it's kinda hard to hear.

Just started playing eternal today, and the gun sounds are so inferior to 2016.
Goodness the sound design in Eternal sounds so fantastic.

When you shoot the metal floor with the HAR (eternal) it makes the same sound as the engie wrench in tf2 but sped up

It was cut from the game but threw mod u can bring it back however i would not try this cos when i did it wiped my save file but it did work there are vids how to do it just dont do it on your main file

Tbh I’d have to say that Doom 2016 is more on the badass look while Doom:Eternal kinda does a scavenger-sci-fi look in my opinion so I have to agree with u on this

Who else here misses the gauss cannon and siege mode, I've been dying a little every time I play because I don't have it.

Doom 2016 chain gun has that badass terminator brutal look to it and eternal’s chain gun looks to shiny and plastic
Doom Eternal chaingun is cheems going "pew pew pew pls hurmt" and Doom 2016 chaingun is BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT
I like the idea of Eternal's chaingun basically being a rapid-fire railgun, but I agree it definitely looks off. Same with the Plasma Rifle, they both look like plastic toys instead of actual weapons.
@@Slaking_ doom eternal had to be less realistic and more cartoony to give the devs more freedom to do more crazy ideas without it feeling out of place

doom 2016 super shotgun sounds amazing like an explosion just how it supposed to be
In my opinion
The super shotgun from Doom eternal sounds like an explosion ( in a distance )
And the super shotgun in Doom 2016 sounds more like an actual double barreled shotgun
I like how it takes the Doom series 3-4 sets of barrels to produce the rate of fire of one modern day minigun.

And the chaingun is so badass and I like it specially with the mobile turret update
The rocket launcher looks way more badass then it's used to be , it's hellish and looks like this gun comes straight out of hell
The plasma gun is a good remake to the classic plasma gun and I like it , the old design was pretty cool
And the super shotgun is top notch specially with the meat Hook attachement , its so cool

I love every new weapon in Doom Eternal except for the Plasma Rifle, I don't like that cannon.
It’s the original design so I liked it
I'm glad the standard shotgun is so much more useful in Eternal. The Super Shotgun in Doom 2016 just made it useless once it was fully upgraded. All it took was taking off the super's double shot upgrade and making both of the standard's mods better.

It's the unused automatic pistol. You can only get it through cheats.

the shotgun, assault rifle, and plasma rifle in doom 2016 sound superior than doom eternal, kind of wish we had those as sound effect skins in doom eternal
I thought the assault rife sounded more like a machine gun in Eternal rather than an assault rifle like in 2016 so not necessarily worse.

The gauss rifle was too advantageous a weapon, so they changed it to the ballista, which by the way, neither of them appear in this video.
