I mean, can you really blame the devs for wanting to try something new?
Granted, they could have put cracks in the ground with lava pouring out and the trees burning, like the demons are trying to destroy the land or something, but I kinda like the change in atmosphere.
I'm playing DOOM 2016 currently and I'll admit only switching between labs and Hell for the millionth time can get pretty boring

​​​@@lsgmatt9817 There's quite literally footage out there of Doom Eternal's pistol in action though? It's a fully completed and fully functioning asset that you can access in the game's files. The reason why it was cut was because idSoftware just didn't know how to balance it with the rest of the weapons without causing any redundancy.
