We are set at 2" so the diff drop is not necessary and not doing it keeps us from having to use spacers on the skid plates. The upper arms are not required but they do help get everything back into alignment easier. We have a couple GXsw, we did the 3.5 Aluminum Series on one, The 2.5 Aluminum on another and the standard BOSS 2.0 on the other. We just recorded this one because it was a new launch. Truth be told, we have been running Toytec for a long time on about 30 of our personal builds. I like the US made, US customer service, Rebuildable, and I know the people there. There are plenty of options out there and this is certainly just one of them. For the price, its hard to beat a US made full threaded adjustable coil over lift kit that is able to be rebuilt for for these truck. good news, install on most coil overs are just like this.

do you need a differential drop kit ? are the upper control arms necessary? what made you go with this lift for the GX over other kits on the market ?

Depends on your lift. 2" is safe.
