My daughter is 14 months old and her iron is good but I want to make sure I keep it up! This video came at the perfect time for me! Thank you so much for sharing! ❤
aww, I'm so glad to hear that!!! I'm happy to share what I've learned for my kids. Iron intake is such a big topic and we need to take care of it on a daily basis :-)
This was such a great an informative video. I literally watched this video 3x back to back to gather everything I needed. Great stuff, Thank you so much for sharing.
i agree on most points, but it's also good to point out that iron from plant sources is not the same as heme iron from animal sources and the availability and what is absorbed from the body differs...
I chanced on your channel while searching for help with my 16months old picky eater. I am in Ghana, West Africa and certainly our meals are way different than yours (hehehe) but i tried some of your recipes with my boy and he ate them, though they had to be pureed. Thanks so much for the great work...love to you and your boys ( I have two boys too- number three is on the way)
Awww, thank you!!! I'm so glad your little one liked the recipes. oh, I'm not surprised you find my recipes unusual. Every country has a different cousine. I would love to learn some Ghana's recipes. What's the traditional baby food recipe? Ciao!! b
Thank you!!! I really wanted to share all the info that I learned while trying to balance the iron levels in my kids' diet, it's such an important topic!! ciao, b
The first time i watch your video i subscribe immediately.very imformative,i learned a lot from you.my baby is 1yr old & 4 mos now & i just wish i found your channel early.
I loved this video!!! Thank you! My toddler is 16 months old and Im always grateful for these tips and reminders for healthy food choices and How-to ideas! ❤
Aww, thank you! This is a video I had in mind for sooooo long, but it really took a lot of time to be finished as the info are so many and I really didn't want it to be boring :-) THANK YOU for your sweet comment!! b
Try this experiment. Two plates of food in front of your baby. On one plate, place the vegan foods in this video. And in another plate, place beef liver (pureed, as appropriate). See which one the baby picks up.
You are doing great and helpfull videos! I will be fallowing! I have a question there about the smoothies. If the dairy lowers the absorbtion of iron do we have to do a smoothie with other kind of milk?
Hello Darling, love your videos. Can you please tell which cheese brand is best for baby? Since they say you should give from pasteurized sources. But ready made cheese slices have a lot of salt and sodium. Can you please please tell soft cheese I can give?
Omg so imformative thku so much for this awesome video.may i ask u: recently my 12 mths old baby has not been eating or drinking well and i have been trying v hard to give her iron rich and vit c rich food i tried coking this toor dal & i cut a small portion of broccoli & capsicum n steam it in the rice cooker for 3 mins whn rhe riceis already cooked after that i chopthem finely & add them in about 30-40 ml of dal mix them & add ground nuts or flaxseeds with 1- 2 table spoon of rice.i will b very grTeful if u can further advise me.thku in advance
I love your informative videos! My pediatrician told me why I needed to start introducing food due to iron but didn't give as much detail as you did as to why iron is important. Love the recipe recommendations as well!
Hi! thank you. Unfortunately the only way I know is through a blood exam. Before opting for that, you can check if your little one has more than one iron deficiency anemia's symptoms: unusual tiredness, paleness, shortness of breath, headache, dizziness, heart palpitation, dry and damaged hair and skin, swelling and soreness of the tongue and mouth, restless legs, brittle or spoon shaped fingernails. If you recognize more than one symptom, I would suggest to talk to your pediatrician. Ciao! b
A very weldone my friend! Thank you for the good clear information. BuonaPappa, have you consider teaching? You'll be a fantastic one!😊keep them,I watch in silence most time..lol
Hi! I have a 1 month old baby and her hemoglobin is quite low. Since she is breastfeed will it help her if I eat foods that are rich in iron? Will I be able to pass it to her thru my milk? Thank you
Hi Thanks for sharing this informative video. Hats off to you for all the wonderful & healthy recipes for kids. This is one of my fav youtube channels 👌🏼 . . I wanted to ask, my toddler is 26 months old and is still on Stage 1 pureed food. He doesn’t eat solids . . If I offer something he simple gags multiple times and vomits. Do have any tips or tricks for such kids to get to start solids?? Please reply as this would be so so helpful to me. Thanks and much love to you & kids 😘💕👍
Also, its very difficult to keep him full as he takes very runny purees. Please suggest which foods can atleast keep a child feel full over night and at least for 2-3 hours.
Hi! thank you so much for your comment, I really appreciate. Every baby is different and some babies they move from puree stage to small chunks at a very late age, even 2 1/2 years. To reassure you that your little boy is not the only one, I can tell you that I receive many comments like yours. That being said, I can tell you from the stories I've been collecting few reasons why it happens. 1. The baby is simply not ready, this is the majority of cases. He will choose to move up when he is ready, usually before 3yrs. Keep offering more structured textures to your toddler, maybe finger foods and see how he reacts. Don't worry and don't give up. 2. In some cases the parents asked the pediatrician and a "swallowing test" was done. Sometimes speech therapy is suggested, but under the pediatrician advise. I hope I was helpful and I wish you and your little boy the best!! Keep me updated!! B
BuonaPappa Thanks a lot 🙏 for replying & suggestion . . I feel a bit relieved that im not alone in this regard. I keep offering him different finger foods but he seems to sometimes like wafers only and that too mini bites smaller than a centimeter. Will keep trying my best & definitely keep you updated. Lots of love to you & kids ❤️💕✨
Thanks for sharing all these awesome tips. My son is 2 1/2 years old and he’s still low on iron level. He doesn’t like egg, anything else I can give him for breakfast? Thank you so much, I appreciate. 😍
Don't worry, he's not the only one. My little one is a bit anemic too, nothing serious but I try to boost his iron levels here and there. What about a smoothie? (like the green or pink one I recently posted) or some pancakes with almonds? or simply some iron fortified cereals.
Hi! Very good question. If your goal is to maximize the iron intake you should not mix dairy + food high in iron. But that's not always the case. If you are offering a balanced diet to your little one and the iron intake comes from many sources the broccoli meatballs using ricotta are fine. The iron intake from that specific recipe will not be maximized but overall it's fine. The situation is different if there is an iron deficiency and in addition to iron supplements you really need to be careful to the ingredients you are using to maximize the iron intake. I hope I was useful. Ciao! B
I love them. They have no chemicals and also some of the metal gets into the food, not a lot and in a safe way. I would not consider using a cast iron pan an iron boosting method, but it is definitely a good cooking method.
Hi Hetal! I'm glad you liked the video! Is your baby vegetarian too? which kind of vegetarian? Do you eat fish and or eggs? I have a playlist of recipes for toddlers that you might like: ruclips.net/p/PL9B6ikaZmAO9gGJX48w5QiTMN_FCPtA9D Some of them are vegetarian. If your little one follows a vegetarian diet you want to substitute the animal proteins with vegetable ones from nuts, beans, tofu. I hope I was helpful! ciao, b
