Hello and thank you for the information! What do you think about spooning of the toenails? That is what my toddler has that brought me here to iron supplementation. My son almost 2 and very hesitant to eat any meat. I offer it every day but he just uses quality dairy for protein.

My 19 month old just got diagnosed with Severe anemia 9.9. He eats chicken salmon, carrots, avocado, guacamole, bell peppers, blueberries, raspberries, pasta, tomato. He loves milk though. So he needs beans and broccoli?

That's everything alright but the main problem is the toddlers don't want to eat , how we can fix that?

A breastfeeding mom and my 21month old has low iron her hemoglobin is 9.2 and her pediatrician gave her iron supplement to be taken for 6months. Is it okay if I also take Iron supplements cause I have also low Iron levels . Will it affect my breastmilk ?

I have a question, I think my four year old may be lacking in iron (tired and dark circles) we eat healthy but she’s picky. Also, she’s never had the fortified foods(bad ingredients in them) why is it ok to eat over the recommended dose in a cereal
But discouraged to take an iron supplement that has the daily recommended amount? 🤔

A daily multi with iron is fine for kids but if they are iron deficient, the RDA is not enough to replenish iron stores. The first place to begin is to have your child's ferritin checked by their doctor if you suspect a deficiency.

@@JillCastle ok thank you! Most things be online say not to. But then I found a cereal that had way more than the multi! So was confused. Thank you for your response!

    For oatmeal
Won’t the milk prevent iron from absorbing

Maybe a little bit? But it's still a valuable source of iron. :)

I took my 1 years old baby to a pediatric hematologist for iron deficiency and he put in iron drops treatment with a high dose, I’m a little scare to overdose, he is taking 5 ml x day because he hemoglobin is 7.7 , I was giving the normal dose of 1 ml but now I’m scare to give him 5 ml , any suggestions?

The hemotologist probably spoke with your pediatrician - I would call your pediatrician and just double check.
