Thank you Dave. This trailer has already been earning it's keep. I am reorganizing my garden. and have already loaded it with soil and cinder blocks. It still works well under a heavy load. Glad you enjoyed this project my friend.
Stephen -- best utility trailer I have ever seen! Congrats on the great work and the tutorials throughout the series. A great watch - thanks for sharing. Now for the wood turning your promised. Regards as always - Dennis
Thank you Dennis. I have a show coming up in early May and will be making turning videos getting ready for it. I hope you will enjoy them my friend. Glad you enjoyed this project also.
I wish I had the equipment like you have. I got a 5x10 trailer that I would like to have dump like that it would be so Awesome. You definitely gave me some great ideas. So appreciate your time to make the video and to share it. Fantastic job Sir
Thank you Jon. Glad you enjoyed this project my friend. I put this trailer to work when the paint was still tacky (just kidding) but almost. It works great, even with loads of dirt. I worried about the small wheels but they seem to be holding up fine. Take care my friend.
@@StephenOgle I got one of those pull carts when I bought my john deere 6 years ago and still using it today. I ordered new front wheels and tires for my john deere and put the old wheels and tires on the pull cart because they where wider and more stable. Just a idea Sir. Thanks and have a Blessed day
You sir have a new subscriber !! I watched all 3 of your video's lots of thought has gone into this trailer build very very nice !! Mighty is the man who designs and builds his own things !! Nothing better than working with your hands and making your own things !! I think the size of the trailer is great love the wall design and the tailgate !! Great job !! I am going to go back and see what kinda other video's you have on your channel .....I really liked this one great job man !!👍👍
Thank you Robert. Glad you enjoyed this project and thank you for the subscription. I really like doing all kinds of work and hope I can keep you interested. Take care.
Thank you Frank. Glad you enjoyed this project. Just pick up a cheap welder and go for it. It really is fun learning new things like that. Take care my friend.
Now that's a great build Stephen. Well thought out! All you need now is bigger wheels with wheel bearings, lights and you can get it registered. Then off down the jolly highway! Spiffing job old chap! ;-) Bryan Edited for compliment: It's awfully nice to see your welding skills have improved. Practice - makes - perfect! LOL
Thank you very much Bryan. So glad you enjoyed this project. I have a brand new 3,500 pound axle but unfortunately it is for another future project. I have really enjoyed practicing welding and find it very relaxing. Practice, practice, practice. Take care my friend.
Next time, use double shive tackle block at the end you attached to bed pivot point, double your power, easyer on every thing, worked for me ! Good job!
Thank you John. I will make a deal with you. I will trade you my trailer for your Kabota. LOL!! Anyway, I am really glad you enjoyed this project my friend. Take care.
Thank you Gary. It is a little heavier than a typical lawn cart but it pulls fine and hopefully it will take the abuse I need to bestow onto it. Glad you enjoyed this project.
really enjoyed the video, looks like a lot of thought went into your dump trailer. I just recently bought a welder and am teaching myself to weld. sort of, any way, thanks for showing us how you built your wagon maybe I can copy what you did
Might think of using a piece of a Walmart plastic cutting board on that leading edge of the bed as a wear strip to save the winch cable. Bolt it in so it is easily replaceable. Very nice trailer. A cubic yard of dirt is around a ton and it looks like you could heap a yard and a half easily into the trailer--be careful who you loan it to!! Lol!
Great Idea Douglas. Thank you. I did put a steel rubbing surface on it to keep from rubbing the frame, but I like your idea better. Glad you enjoyed his project and Take care.
I waited til the end and was going to mention the trans duty rating concern and right at the end took that joy away from me! LOL, ya big meanie! Oh well, being green like it is when the rider trans explodes you can run out and buy a JD garden tractor or even a sub-compact to handle a heaping helping of damp topsoil or whatever up and down the hills. Next project a garden tractor DIY loader build? :) Better plan some time for estate sales and such to find project implements.
Thank you and, How right you are! The transaxle in this mower has always been a concern and it does use belts occasionally when I load it a little too heavy. I have been looking into garden tractors for a while now, but this cheap lawnmower just simply refuses to give up the ghost. LOL!! Thanks for commenting and take care.
Steve, if you remove all but the first layer of cable you can get a lot more pulling power from the winch and have a bunch of new cable leftover for other projects!
Thank you very much. These tires simply met the 400 lbs requirement. LOL! It really pulls great around the yard even loaded with dirt. Glad you enjoyed this project. Take care.
Maybe tack and check all your clearances before welding in place , maybe a bit of angle at the back of the winch tower for extra strength, as you said you potentially have a great load on the winch tower , every weld a re weld looses strength, just a thought , that said a great trailer 👍👍
That's one beefy trailer. Now you have the excuse to get a small tractor, you need one to fully utilize the new trailers potential. My wife would never fall for that and yours probably wouldn't either, but you may get lucky and catch her on an off day, lol.
Glad you brought that up. A stationary pulley (at the anchor point) will only change direction and will add no mech advantage. A moving pulley/s attached to the load will multiply the input force by the number of cable strands incoming and outgoing. One pulley has two cables (in and out) therefore doubling your input force. Just like a block and tackle. You are trading distance for power such as here you pull 2 feet of cable to move the load 1 foot but with twice the force. Hope this helps. Take care.
Thank you sir. I actually have a set of tires, unfortunately I do not have the wheels for them, Yet. Great suggestion. Glad you enjoyed this project. Take care.
Glad you enjoyed this project and thank you for watching. I agree about the commercials. RUclips and Google controls all that. Even if I demonetize a video they still show commercials on them. Take care.
Great job. this is one of those projects that keeps getting pushed back as higher priority projects keep jumping to the front of the list :-( Maybe I missed it, but how much dump angle do you get with the box all the way up?
Thank you Mr. Gordy. Hopefully you will be able to get to your trailer soon. Glad you enjoyed this project sir. My angle is right at 45 deg. when fully raised. I hope this helps.
Very good video work. Easy to follow. Tks.
Good build Stephen. That trailer will come in mighty handy!
Thank you Dave. This trailer has already been earning it's keep. I am reorganizing my garden. and have already loaded it with soil and cinder blocks. It still works well under a heavy load. Glad you enjoyed this project my friend.
Time to upgrade the lawnmower!
Great video series. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks!
Thank you Kerry. I agree 100% and I am already looking for a good Garden Tractor. Glad you enjoyed this project. Take care.

Enjoyed the build, my friend, and good engineering.

Thank you Lee. It was a fun challenge to build. Glad you enjoyed it my friend.
You got some other cool stuff I am gonna watch when I get time !! 👍👍
Nice looking trailer, Stephen! And well designed.
Thanks for sharing, looking forward towards your next project
another great build Stephen really enjoyed it !!

Nice work, I am into tilt trailers for sure. Built one for cars/truck, and hauling my Harleys
Very cool Stephen!!
Thank you very much. Glad you enjoyed this project.
You did a great job on making the trailer. Looks good
Thank you James. Glad you enjoyed this project. Take care.
That’s a really good design. And I really mean that.

Really neat trailer man.great job.

That is one industrial looking cart. I'm sure that wench setup could dump anything you put in it.well done.
Thank you Joel. At least It should not turn over every time I try to load leaves into it. Glad you enjoyed this project my friend.

Awesome job,
Thank you Donald. This was a fun build and glad you enjoyed it. Take care.
Nice job
Awesome little trailer, defiantly over built for what it is but the only thing I recommend changing the axle for a trailer axle.
Great video. After you have used the trailer, Hope you have time to share upgrade ideas.
Next time, use double shive tackle block at the end you attached to bed pivot point, double your power, easyer on every thing, worked for me ! Good job!
What's up my fellow Paulding, Polk neighbor
Stephen it turned out great! I need an orange one for my Kubota BX25D - Lol 😄
Thank you John. I will make a deal with you. I will trade you my trailer for your Kabota. LOL!! Anyway, I am really glad you enjoyed this project my friend. Take care.
Good job
Better not get that thing too close to a mud hole! It must be heavy. Looks good though. You are a multi-talented fellow, you are.
Dang Steve, are you concerned about how much this cart weighs? That thing is built like a tank.
Turned out great. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Gary. It is a little heavier than a typical lawn cart but it pulls fine and hopefully it will take the abuse I need to bestow onto it. Glad you enjoyed this project.

Thank you very much. Great suggestion and I agree. I will do that. Glad you enjoyed this project and Thanks again.
Nice looking trailer just the tires look to small but hey you got to use what you have so looking forward to seeing it in action
Thank you very much. These tires simply met the 400 lbs requirement. LOL! It really pulls great around the yard even loaded with dirt. Glad you enjoyed this project. Take care.

Thank you Erik. Great advice! I will also look into putting gussets on the winch pedestal. Glad you like my trailer. Take care.
I enjoy your videos. You sound like you're in East TN. :-)
Thank you very much. Glad you enjoy my projects. I am close to East Tenn. I live in NW Georgia. Take care brother.
@@StephenOgle :-):-)
Well, that's one useful son of a bitch haha!
And if you can't find it some day, just look for something that's G R E E N ! :D
Those are the most aggressive tires I have ever seen on a lawn tractor. 😂
That's one beefy trailer. Now you have the excuse to get a small tractor, you need one to fully utilize the new trailers potential. My wife would never fall for that and yours probably wouldn't either, but you may get lucky and catch her on an off day, lol.
Really nice trailer great lift mechanism, now flip it over and put a heavier axle and bigger tires on it. Please n
Thank you Clifton. I think I really missed the mark with the tires, myself. Take care buddy.
Hi Stephen, Good job on the trailer. Now you need to get a John Deere tractor to match.
Stephen, is there anything you can’t do? Great video.
Thank you Frank. I really just enjoy trying to problem solve and make stuff. Glad you enjoyed this project. Take care.
Terrific set of videos...and solid construction! I was wondering which welder you are using?
Thanks!
Thank you Israel. Glad you enjoyed this project. The Welder I have is the Titanium MIG 140 from Harbor Freight. I hope this helps. Take care!
Very nice! Question though, what’s it name? If it lived at my house, Clyde or Blue would be used to put it around.
Thank you Scott. Good question. You are correct that it should have a name. I think I shall call it "Dumpy". LOL!
@@StephenOgle ya nailed it!
I was told when i built my lift trailer that a Single pulley only changes direction?? not doubling the 2500??
Glad you brought that up. A stationary pulley (at the anchor point) will only change direction and will add no mech advantage. A moving pulley/s attached to the load will multiply the input force by the number of cable strands incoming and outgoing. One pulley has two cables (in and out) therefore doubling your input force. I think I'd try and find some rear lawnmower tires.
Thank you sir. I actually have a set of tires, unfortunately I do not have the wheels for them, Yet. Great suggestion. Glad you enjoyed this project. Take care.
You should turn a set.
