My granddaddy always said a weed is only something you don't want in your garden if you like them and think they pretty just keep em, honey!
Can tell by the way you touch your plants how much you love them! 😍
💜!!
Kalanchoe humilis is so beautiful. Cute panda leaves.
I once bought a few kalanchoes unknowingly that hitched a ride in a cactus pot. I cared for them deeply and gave them their very own clay pot (a sign of respect in my collection). Then one fateful day they fell into the kitchen sink full of soapy water and grandma decided to through them away. That is why you’ll always see my sink window open, waiting on the off chance that a baby is blowing through the wind and lands in one of my pots.
Lol! It could happen!!
Wow-amazing collection of kalanchoes-love them all! I do love the fuzzy ones & have been on the lookout for a pink butterfly!🦋
I LOVE Kalanchoes!! Some people hate them cuz how quickly they multiply like weeds, but I think they are all so cool and beautiful looking! Thank you for sharing :)
Yay!!! I love them too!!!
Beautiful collection! Very jealous. This is just a "The More You Know" but "CH" in Latin is almost always pronounced as a hard "K" . Kal-un-KOH-ee or Ka-LANG-ko-ee are considered proper pronunciations. It's a Latin translation of a Chinese word. An interesting exception is Echeveria, which can be pronounced with the latin hard "K" or the soft "CH" because the genus is named after the Mexican botanical artist Atanasio Echeverría y Godoy.
Glad to know you are in TX. Just started my Unearthing Nature channel!
The minute I saw them I fell in love with him they are different Pretty kind of weird
I’ve been searching since my partner gave me one without label in feb 2018 .. finally desert surprise haha thank you girl!!!! It’s growing so beautifully 💕 glad I found you -I will be following!!
It's always so nice to have a formal introduction to a plant! I'm happy to help and thank you for subscribing!
I really enjoy the fuzzy ones, give me a warm feeling when I see them. Thank you for the video. God bless
Thank you Joyce!!
Sucs For You! How I will get sacu from you, seeds
Beautiful collection! You have quite a few I haven’t seen, thanks for showing us! I love how easily kalachoes propagate! 🌱🌱🌱
Thank you!
Hello. I need help. In 1980 my uncle brought me a thick dark dark green leaf and told me to plant it. It grew all over my flowerbeds and were beautiful with small red flowers. I later learned the name Kalanchoe. I have other ones but I can’t find ones with the plain leaves. They are all with scallop edges. What is the name of the Kalanchoe with the the thick green leaves without scallops? Thank you all
A variety of Kalanchoe blossfeldiana perhaps?
Hi, you have the string of bananas on the ground! Cool..I am looking for the fetschenkoi one...do you know where I can find it?
Yes! I was surprised they took to the ground! Winter is going to be harder to find sucs but you can sign up w/ Mountain Crest to be notified when they're in stock - mountaincrestgardens.com/?aff=5
I've been bitten by the kalanchoe-bug. I recently came home with a humilis, an eriophylla and a variegated fedtschenkoi. I am still so awestruck by how diverse this family of plants is. Thanks for sharing your lovely collection. It gave my family about 20 mins of reprieve from me yapping on about my newest obsession lol.
LOLOLOL!! Thank you! Oooh I need a K. eriophylla! And yes, I love humilis so much! Join our group on FB if you need more like-minded plant friends ;) facebook.com/groups/sucsforyou/
I love them but they are toxic to cats so I can't have any....
I have a humilis that does not stack. It actually has a leggy stem that is hanging on the side of the planter, similar to your plant at 9:52. This leggy stem just grew this year after having this plant for about 6 months. Am I doing something wrong?
It probably just needs more time to grow - you should see new leaves form at the center. You could always top it and see if that has any effect on new growth
I belong to a bunch of plant groups on Facebook. It seems like a lot of people really dislike kalanchoes. Is it because of their invasiveness?
Probably because a few of the 'Mother of Thousands' type Kalanchoes can be very prolific
I love kalanchoe but all of mine are indoors. I live in the northeast. Any tips for indoor growing?
Yes, give them all the light you can! A natural white grow light (not the purple/reds) would really benefit them - I have several recs on my AMZ shop page here - www.amazon.com/shop/sucsforyou
Never seen such a big collection of kalanchoes. Thanks for sharing your entire kalanchoes collection with us
My pleasure 😊 Thanks for watching!
I think the Adrea ll in the little shop of horror was a kalanchoe too!
Hi Andrea, did you drill a hole in the wood box you made? I have a couple of wood boxes that I want to plant succulent in and I am wondering if it will be alright to plant them in there.
Sorry for the late reply but no I didn't. The box wasn't very well crafted and the water ran through pretty well. But I do recommend you drill them in your boxes :)
Why doesn’t anyone talk about the medicinal purposes???
I'm not qualified to give medical advice ;)
About Donkey Ears... I'm finding that some people recommend watering babies right away but some say to let it dry out for a while before watering it.
My friend gave me a baby today, pulled it right off the mother plant. I REALLY want it to survive 🙏
Have you tried both ways? What's best?
Let the baby sit for a couple of days so any cut/damage heals, then you can pot it up and water it 🙏
@@SucsForYou Thank you!
great collection love the donkey ears. thankyou for sharing
Thanks Mandy!
I just got a Desert surprise. It has a tall stalk with tiny beautiful flowers. Should I cut this of? I read that the plant will DIE if you leave the flower 😱🥺 I love this presentation of all your Kalanchoes 😍 I never knew they existed 🥰 (So glad I googled and found you!! 😆)
It won't die if you leave the flower :)
@@SucsForYou Thaaank you!! ❤️👏🏼
I have a lot to love to have donkeys ears, mexican hat, purples ones it daisy 👋
Andrea what do you do with those Donkey Ears blooms? Do you have a video of what you do with them?
Sorry I just saw your comment! I try to let them live as long as possible- eventually the stalks dry and die. It's their last hurrah 😅 You can just cut them off too but the main plant will still die (but they live for several years!)
Is my favorite to☺️💙💙lovely.
I think I lost my spotted donkey ears to the pinnata. They bloomed at the same time. The donkey ears are green, no spots, hybrid maybe.
Where do you get this kind of variety? I love the baby leaf propagation too.
Mostly just local nurseries!
You know is used against cancer in Spain?
Loved this video! Wish I could get my hands on a donkey ears plant and marmorata plant...😍
Did you find a donkeys ears? They seem to be difficult to find
I have them and just brought mine to Texas. Ive gone them in California. I, glad to hear they grow in Texas too, I’m north of Texas in Melissa. I just have the tall kind. Never seen the ones you are showing. Where can I get the other varieties? I don’t have the Kalonchos. . I have the tall kind. With the upside down bell shaped flowers i have them everywhere and keep getting new ones to keep them going. Also my favorite plants are pregnant onions.
I bought most of mine locally in Houston but you can order them from online shops! mountaincrestgardens.com/kalanchoe/?aff=5
Sucs For You! Thank you s much.
Great video i got one at Meijer's for Valentines day this month and so far so good i had one of the fuzzy ones and killed it so we will see. Like to try to get some more as i can
Hi Sucs for You, I love your videos! Kalanchoes are amazing. Mine is one of my favorite plants.
Also...please watch your video with captions on. I *strongly* recommend typing your own subtitles. You'll see why within the first minute. (Also, it helps those of us who use captions.) 🙂
Thank you! I will try to edit the captions this week!
OH MY GOSH!!! Thank you for telling me LOL!
@@SucsForYou 😂 No problem!
So I just got a kalanchoe elephant ear fang.. For $5 it's a 15 gallon pot. The house I went to had like 7ft tree..mine looks like a tree they chopped and now grew back..cant wait for it to get big
I’m in Houston where do you find the unusual varieties?
Another Place in Time in the Heights is a good place to check out - they don't carry a ton of succulents but some of the weirdest sucs I have came from there! You could call ahead and ask - they're very nice.
And I've ordered some really cool Kalanchoes from www.bobsmoleys.com/h-l.html - they're in Florida so similar climate. Old school website but super selection.
You have some Kalanchoes that are used for cancer treatments
Hi! What kind of a soil do you make? Thank you for your response!
Here you go! sucsforyou.com/care-tips/#soil
So envious of your collection!! You have soooo many amazing Kalachoe's 😍 I really want the copper & silver spoons. Especially the copper. You can't beat that color. Now that I've seen the fang I'll add that to the list too. Right now I have the milotii, panda, chocolate soldier (can you tell I like the fuzzy ones?😋) And was gifted a humilis.
I looove the fuzzies so much! And the Copper Spoons are an all time fave 🙏
Your donkey ears is stunning
My kolanchoe humilis is dropping leaves. They just fall off . No yellowing no bugs. I use almost the same
Soil as you. I live in the North of England. Any idea as to what the cause could be.
I watch all your video's and bought your book witch i think is great.
Possibly overwatering?
I bought a kalanchoe humilis and i want to know how to propagate it
Cuttings should work really well!
Wow, amazing Kalenchoe collection. I like the Pink butterfly, and the fuzzies. I’ve never seen a Donkeys Ear in person, looks cool.
Happy Planting 💜🌺🌸
Thank you! And Happy Planting to you!!
Great collection very informative video.
I want to get mother of thousands and the panda plant 🌱
People say mother of thousands are like weeds. Don’t get it.
Thanks for sharing, I live in Central FL and it's nice to hear about succulents that can stand the humidity. My Fang plants do great here. I seem to be having a little trouble with my Mother of Thousands tho.
I love Fangs! And that's odd about the Mother... is it in direct sun? If so that could be a bit too much
Kalan-ko-we! 😂
Dang, I just found out that several of my succulents are Kalanchoes, I didn't know, they were no-names at the nursery. I have one in bloom and the flowers are beautiful, they look like bells. A super collection that you have!
Thank you!!! I love how Kalanchoe flowers hang!
Am so happy never see so much Kalancho in my life. 🙏❤🙏
I love Kalanchoes too!
I recently bought a small sad looking kalanchoe humilis thinking it could perk up. It doesn't seem to be going well, the leaves all drooped down and fell off apart from two. I'm so sad too because the colour and pattern are so pretty.
Loved the video, so many amazing plants.
Sorry to hear that - I lost one to the cold a couple years back :/ Snagged a new one as soon as the chance arose!
@@SucsForYou I'm still hoping it pulls through 😂.
@@nunpho Oh I read that wrong! Drooped and dropped are very different situations - whew! Keep it warm and water sparingly over winter 🙏
@@SucsForYou yes I am, I repotted it to because the soil it came in was just... D:
Nice collection. I'd love to see how you propogate the mother of thousands plants. Thank you for the video.
Thanks Jade! And great suggestion ;)
Great video. Thank you 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩💜💜
Thanks for watching!
You should do a whole plant tour
That would take a while... ;)
Sucs For You! Dosent matter i would love to see it
I agree! Like a whole garden tour!
The weirdos lol
Wow I love the huge one
Loved this video! I was wondering what the name of the plant was that's in the same pot as your Kalanchoe beauverdii 'Widow's Thrill'. I've seen it around and always liked how it looks but don't know the name! Thanks :)
My collection is getting big to 💘 watching
I've been looking for the name of the type of Kalanchoe I have and I watched this and found it :)
Mine is a Kalanchoe Humilis but it has long stems with blooms growing out of it as well? That's why it was so hard to find the type.
How are you enjoying your new home? Do you miss your screened in patio?
It's nice! But yes, I really miss my porch!
I love them. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
I do too!!!!
How can I control the mother of thousands? Pls tks
Keep them in a pot away from your yard ;) Or hope a freeze takes care of the plantlets
Mail them to me for cash, hard green cash!!!
Or gather the babies and I send u money thru PayPal and everyone is a winner! If u could sell the ones u show it would save me a lot of time🤷🏼♀️👩🏼🌾🙏🏼Pink butterflies r so expensive on eBay if u can even find them!
Wow what an amazing Kalanchoe collection. I love the blooms on these plants. Thanks for sharing ☺👍❤.
Hi Ruthie! Thanks so much! 💜 💜
@@SucsForYou You're very welcome☺.
How did you cover to protect plants? ...(Be nice to have writing on video for the plant names). Thanks!
And finally someone correctly named the panda ears and chocolate soldier!! I've had both for a while and I see so many vids with experienced gardeners naming them all wrong! Kinda aggravating lol. Maybe u can get seeds from the donkey ears that's blooming???
I take my Kalanchoes very seriously ;) And I'm pretty sure the Donkey Ears aren't self fertile so I'd need another one in bloom to try to cross pollinate. I did try letting the flowers fully dry to see if I got any seeds but no luck.
@@SucsForYou Sucs that one of ur others wasn't n bloom. And I pronounce kalanchoe the same as u lol. Thanks again 4 the vids. Been watching urs 4 a while. Its always good to learn from others no matter how experienced we r. Best to u.
Wow!!!
17:44 😂
“The original plant... Which I don’t have anymore. Uh... It died.
*full on laugh*
Sorry, um, just- I- that’s all...”
Can I have the story behind this please? 😂
😂 I think it may have been left out when it was too cold (and probably got too much rain) but I really can't remember for sure... 🙈
Sucs For You! It cracked me up when you just burst into laughter 😂 I have killed many a plant myself 😂
@@PinkandBlue10123 Oh plants are gonna die - that is for sure! 😂
I can’t offer to trade because I don’t have much you probably have all the few I have please Consider. Me
Sadly I am out of work right now because of all that’s going on but I was wondering if you are ready to share some of you That would help a lot see if you’re from Houston so you are local and it would help me with the cost of the shipping and maybe I can not Buy Much but maybe a couple I would really appreciate
I'm obsessed as well! Love your collection wow great pics they are so cute! Mother of millions I have one that I've been nursing and currently have over 10 potted and the one planted in the ground grew about 4 feet and is currently blooming beautiful
Little bell flowers with the most gorgeous colors. Ill have to post a video. Thanks for sharing yours💚
They do have the loveliest flowers! (Usually coral) and long lasting!
Love your collection
You have such a nice voice
♥♡♥
Great kalanchoe collection! 😍 They are so pretty and I love that they have so many babies. Pretty blooms too. Thank you for sharing. 👌💞
I really love them!! Thanks for watching!
I got a Kalanchoe species from a company called Succulent Box out of Lake Forest, California. I live in Delaware and I watered it sparingly as it was in a 2inch pot, but it ended up dying. Very disappointed. I don't think it made the trip too well.
Yikes! That's a big change in climate for the Kalanchoe too- try finding some closer to home!
Do the kaloncho blooms profuse seeds?
Sure if they're pollinated!
Amazing collection! Any tips for growing Kalanchoe laetivirens indoors? You say it's a tropical succulent - does that mean it doesn't need much water but likes humidity? Despite their resilience, I'm not having great luck with mine, especially now that it's cold outside. I want to put them as close to the window as possible but am worried about the cold draft!
They do like it warm and bright - I'm sure it will perk up when the weather is right! They do like more water than your average succulent but don't necessarily need humidity to thrive.
You and I are very similar! I love certain varieties of weeds too and I get in trouble with my husband when am supposed to be weeding and instead I end up potting up the weeds because I think they're so cute!
Love that!
Is mother of Million the same as the Kalanchoe pink butterfly?
What is your temp zone?
9B - subtropical with mild winters usually :)
My Copper Spoon has withering leaves. I tried to not overwater it, but I don’t know what it wants so it can get back to normal. It travelled with me back and forth from Los Angeles to Napa twice because I’m in the process of moving and I could not leave it for too long. It used to be bushier but now it’s thinner and growing taller and less bushy. Would you know what I’m doing wrong? Thank you!!!!
I have limited Internet after the hurricane 😐 Please use the Ask Andrea feature at sucsforyou.com as I will need some more info 🙏🏽
Specially that donkey ear I have never seen something like that Until I saw it in one of your videos I fell in love with it well that would be one I would really love
I like your soil and it looks like your plants are very happy :) Can I ask what do you like using? It would help me out tremendously. Peace, Love and Succulents :)
Happy to help! Watch this :) ruclips.net/video/WW3gmRqriqQ/видео.html
Omg Girl! Came to learn how to divide pups and I am going to watch everything. Beautiful plants 💚 gawd I hope I don't get addicted to succulents. Here in Canada we could never grow outside so I am going to experience through you .. Thanks

Botanical Latin is pretty flexible since it wasn't intended to be a spoken language! As long as you know what I mean, I'm happy lol!
this is super helpful thank you!!
I love your Kalanchoes!! 😍😍💖💖
Love this video!👏 I am obsessed with mother of thousands/millions anything & I've built my collection up quite nicely at this point & have 40 babies growing currently all are mixed in so currently there's 3 different kinds as far as the bebes go😊 I'm waiting on a big momma (kalanchoe laetivirens) I purchased from a nursery online located in Texas to come this wk! It's my first one of those & I cannot wait!😍😁👏 After watching your video I have a few more I wanna add to my collection! Happy Planting!💚
Enjoy your growing collection! I see a new Kalanchoe I need at least once a month lol!
I love your love for your plants. I have great love for mine as well. Your kalanchoes are so beautiful. I have no fuzzy kalanchoes but now I must add some to my plant family. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you Monique! I wish you all the fuzzy plants in the future!
What can be better than loving such beautiful sucs...and I see you've brought up amazing sucs......
#Beautiful_collection
Please set new video. I'm wait it.
Kalanchoe are definitely one of my favorite type of succulents..so many different varieties and shapes and colors and textures!
I love the baby pink butterfly. You’re lucky to have it actually grow. It’s too bad you the mother plant. So far, I haven’t had any luck propagating mine yet.
I tried several and only one made it - I'm lucky this one even grew!!
10:12 tears of the love they called it in my country
Interesting!
@@SucsForYou sometimes do you spit or swallow
I like the rombopulosa one but such a very slow grower. Mine has not grown that much at all for 2 yrs now. any tips?
I agree - definitely not as fast as other Kalanchoes! Just be patient and give it some fertilizer when it's in its growing season.
