  • Succulents can be divided into types based on the genus they come from. These usually have similar characteristic that can be used to identify them.
    A genus is a group of related plants with a common ancestor and features. But it’s not always that easy as a genus can be very varied and many of the plants may not look all that similar.
    In this video we’ll have a look at the 21 common and popular types (genera) of succulents, reviewing the genera they come from. The types of succulents will also be named to help with identification.
    Each genus will be discussed and similarities along with differences pointed out to make for easy identification.

    This is a fantastic video and very well paced so it was very easy to follow! I'm going to save it in a playlist so I can refer to it when I need to identify a plant.

    Hello, I really try to digest all of the information am getting In your channel so I won't kill my little succulents. Wanted to know if you could put up a video how can we protect them when winter comes. How to use or build a not so complicated frost cover for them. I live in Vancouver Washington by the way, where we have long winter and snow, Thank you!

    This and the succulent-communication video should be the standard to get into the subject first. If anyone asks me about succulent-basics, I will refer them to these 2 videos from now on! It took me a bit to realize that the approach that you used (plant looks like this - means this) is very uncommon, but possibly the most informative and useful way to teach how to handle plants in general!
    Absolutely great work!!!

    I like all your clip, give lots of information to clear any problems. I have the question to ask. How can you tell the difference between Cubic Frost and Swan Lake 😮 Newcastle AU

    • @SucculentGrowingTips
      @SucculentGrowingTips  Год назад +1

      Thank you- so glad you found the info helpful ☺️ the Swan Lake has a bit of a frilly edge on the leaves and they are also thinner than Cubic Frost leaves. CF is a little more purple/lilac than SL. Hope this helps 🙂
