Hi 👋 thank you for watching. The crested succulents are mutations and happens randomly. Cresting happens while a normal succulent is growing. Somehow, a normal plant got injured and started cresting. Injury could be from chemical,infection or physical.

I think the darker color crested are awesome coz their stems are different colors too.
I noticed that too. I think its just more noticeable with crested stems as they are wider. Thanks for watching.

Hello….I acquired them slowly. I started over 5 yrs ago. I bought my first several one from a nursery in Fremont Ca. A few (believe it or not )I found at home depot and lowe’s. At least 3 of them are my plants turned crested. Recently, I’ve been routinely checking Etsy and Succulent Eden websites. If I see something that is a good size and affordable,I would buy them. Some can really be expensive and over priced so I try to stay away from those. Thanks for watching.
I was trying to figure out what was the crested succulent I got. I finally know it is Francesco Baldi with this video. They don't look like their normal forms. 😅😅
That’s just the downside of crested plants, they are sometimes hard to identify.

I just stumbled over crested succulents since I try to graft my Crassula with Echeveria and I think one of the Echeverias I bought in the grocery store might have some crestation but I have hard times to tell. I dislocated the leaves around the 4 little sprouts and they indeed look kind of linear. Is it even possible to find such mutations in the grocery store?
Oh yes. I have gone to Lowe’s or Home Depot a few times and found crested plants.

My love of odd and head turning vegetation extends to the yard as well. I am planning my garden to include a Harry Lauder Walking Stick and a Cryptomeria Japonica Cristata, the later being crested Japanese Cedar.
Then, if you dare, take a peek at weeping evergreen trees. And there is a crested opuntia ‘roller coaster’ that I think is quite cold hardy.
Conformity is way over rated.

Hello 👋. There’s a loval nursery in Fremont Ca (Regan Nursery)that would have some once in a while. Online also Southern Boutique Succulents and Succulent Eden have great finds. A couple are my plants turned crested and a couple were home depot find.

Ms.Angelita….I buy most of the tine from Love4succulents.com. They have local and korean succulents..also crested. The one I used to go to was Southern Boutique Succulents but they stopped doing business. Not sure if it is temporary or permanent.
Nag inquire din ako to get directly from korea pero there’s a lot of red tape due to customs.
