@@maggiehan9333 Hello 👋 . First thing is make sure you know the ID of the crested plant. Is it an aeonium or echeveria or sedum? Once that is established, the growing habits and season should be same as the normal counterpart. Soil should be gritty. Less watering than the normal counterpart. Morning sun is preferred.. crested Echeverias are more susceptible to mealybugs and you might not notice right away because the leaves are bunched up together. So check thoroughly. What kind of problems are you having with your crested plant?
Hello , I knew it ! 😁Wow I have my very own created plant ! I better cut that part and plant it ! Thank you for this new knowledge ! I didn’t know but I was so sure it looked like a crested plant even tho my sis said it is not . 😆 Happy New Year to you . Your channel just showed up in my feed . I’m glad that it did, looks like you have so many succulents . Pls give us a tour of your garden if you haven’t already. love to see it . Happy New Year from U.S . 🥳 stay safe ! Best regards .
Hello Mama Bear. I just subscribed to your channel. Succulents are one of my favorite plants to collect and grow. That's why I was drawn to your channel. Hope we connect. Thanks 😊
Thank you. Im so fascinated with them. As far as I know, cresting happens naturally and not genetics. I have experienced a plant to give me crested offset. It was one of my sempervivum and one from a sunburst. I dont know how it happened it just grew naturally. I have tried leaf propagation from crested plant and it grew are normal growth. The only way I know is to do stem propagation.
The plant that has the normal growth is an Echeveria and I wanted to wait for warm weather. Echeverias are awake and growing during warm weather. Thank you for watching.🙏🏼
@@PinayMamaBear I see. I also have one pot of briar rose crest which has normal one on them for a year already. Thank you for this precious information.
Crests are my favorite too! The one pictured as the image you click in to watch the video doesn't seem to be shown in the video. I'm probably just missing it! I have a crest that looks just like it that I am trying to identify. Can you tell me what it's name is please.?
Hello. I loooove crested succulents! Yes the one on the cover is Graptopetalum Ghost plant. On my video, I was showing the crested and their counterparts (normal growths) but I couldnt find any of my ghost plants when I was making the video. I did remember after posting the video that I have potted my ghost plants in hanging containers. Those were my first couple of videos (newbie 🤪). Im getting better now and more organized (I hope). Thanks for visiting my channel. I will have a new video featuring more crested succulents and their counterparts.
@@PinayMamaBear thank you for getting back to me so fast! I think it's the Graptolium Ghost plant . If I sent you a picture would you give me your best guess?

First of all Amazing collection, and thank got I found your video. See 7:39 I was looking for answers after o found this crested succi that I knew it was a mute def one at my in-lows they didn’t have an idea how rare this plants can be. I actually have the mermaid tail that’s how I knew it was special. Qn, can you create a mutation from any succulent willingly?? It would be fun to try . Thanks
Wow, I didn’t know that a normal rosette connected with the crest could potential revert the entire crested plant. I have a Cubic Frost crested with a single normal rosette. I should probably cut it then right?
Hello 👋. Yes, crested plants can revert to normal especially on plants that has more normal growth than crested. The normal growths will be dominant. Not sure where your location but you can wait when the weather is warm and Echeverias are awake. Thank you 🙏🏼
@@PinayMamaBear Ah thank you! I’m from Florida and the weather right now is wonderful for cutting. Even though I like the normal + crested look, I definitely want the crest to stay! There is a bit of aerial roots on the normal rosette so it’ll probably root a bit faster right?
@@katherinenguyen1299 yes, I would prefer to keep it crested too. The aerial roots usually mean the plant wants more water but its not unusual for humid area like Florida. Just check id you have other indication that it need water like dry leaves.
@@katherinenguyen1299 thank you. I will wait for our weather to get warm and I will cut mine also.....the one on the video...echeveria mira in purple pot
Thank you for sharing!! I currently have a small created leaf propagation. I believe it’s a Ghost. There is a small baby growing at the bottom. The crested part is about 1 inch tall. Should I remove the baby at the bottom?? Ty
Hi 👋. Thanks for watching. It would depend on how small the baby is at this time and if the baby is also crested. Normal growths usually grow faster than crested so if the baby is getting a lot bigger than the crested part, go ahead and remove it. If the baby is crested and it’s big enough to be on its own, you van go ahead and separate it and have a new crested plant. Happy planting.
Hi 👋. I started my collection when I found a crested aeonium at my local nursery here in Fremont , Ca. I also found a couple from Home Depot. You can also find them online. Most of the time, crested plants are expensive online though. I hope that helps.
@@Pink7omy from what I have read, they are not born mutated. Mutation happens as the plant grows. It could be at early age or latter. Mutation could be caused by physical injury, chemical, bugs, fungal infection or environmental stress to a growing point of a plant.
