Welcome to Pinay Mama Bear's channel. Year 2021 is a golden milestone for me. I'm not really sure what got in to me that I have decided to start creating videos. Whatever it is, making videos bring out the creativeness in me. Creating videos give me the feeling of fulfillment that I have contributed something to the world while expressing myself creatively.
I am a succulent enthusiast. I share my succulent collection, failures and successes in growing succulents through this channel. My planting zone is 9B.

Crested Echeveria Mira With Normal Growth
What us your garden zone?
I just purchased my first crested succulent. It is a Candy crested Echeveria. Is care and propogation the same for these as the normal variety?
Yes, the care for crested and normal succulents maybe just a kettle less water for crested. Thanks for watching.
Beautiful plants.
Thanks for visiting
Me too! I ordered 1 before watching ur video. But I love the weirdness of this plant is why I ordered 1❤, excited to watch her grow 🌱✨🙌🏼
Can the blooms be use to regrow more succulents?
Yes, you can get seeds from the blooms or if you see bloom stalks with new leaves.
Bonjour Comment retirer les plantes normaux pour que la crête ne devient pas normal Lesquelles Il faut retirer merci ❤
Thanks for watching. You can just cut off the normal branch/rosette and propagate the normal cuttings.
Question: one of my Aeoniums is blooming now, during our summer. (Technically a few days until summer). If I cut the bloom will it still grow back in the dormant season?
During summer which is dormant season for aeoniums, they will stop growing but will resume when the temperature cools down (fall)
Bonsoir SVP comment faire pour obtenir un Aeonium cristata J’ai des Aeonium Mille merci
Unfortunately, crested plants happens naturally. It’s a mutation. Either purchase a plant that is already crested or propagate crested cuttings.
First of all Amazing collection, and thank got I found your video. See 7:39 I was looking for answers after o found this crested succi that I knew it was a mute def one at my in-lows they didn’t have an idea how rare this plants can be. I actually have the mermaid tail that’s how I knew it was special. Qn, can you create a mutation from any succulent willingly?? It would be fun to try . Thanks
Unfortunately, the mutation is random and natural. You can’t create it unless you propagate a crested cutting.
اسم این گل چیه؟
Plectrathus Verticillatus
I just stumbled over crested succulents since I try to graft my Crassula with Echeveria and I think one of the Echeverias I bought in the grocery store might have some crestation but I have hard times to tell. I dislocated the leaves around the 4 little sprouts and they indeed look kind of linear. Is it even possible to find such mutations in the grocery store?
Oh yes. I have gone to Lowe’s or Home Depot a few times and found crested plants.
How do you get all of these to crest like that
I’ve purchased most of them. I’m now starting to propagate crested cuttings.
maravilhosas!!!!!!eu sou uma principiante em suculentas tenho 3 cristatas estou encantada com elas, obrigada por mostrar tanta beleza, lindas!!!!! ❤❤
Thank you for watching
I was trying to figure out what was the crested succulent I got. I finally know it is Francesco Baldi with this video. They don't look like their normal forms. 😅😅
That’s just the downside of crested plants, they are sometimes hard to identify.
I grow mine to see the beautiful blooms so you are saying cut them off then I have no reason for growing them
Cut blooms if they have bugs or damaging the plants. If all is well, enjoy them. Thank you for watching.
Salamat Gid Pinay Mama Bear for your wise tips on succulent care! I am also a succulent collector (Hiligaynon Pinoy) from Southern California. I'm so encouraged to see other Pinay/Pinoy who have picked up this wonderful hobby. Keep spreading your knowledge.
Thanks for watching.
Thanks for says about how long to let callous over. I’m trying to save my daughter’s plant. She took it to her boyfriend’s house and it was really hot & it started dying. I think it got root rot. She was watering it more because it was so hot. It’s winter here. And super cold.
Thank you for watching.
What an interesting plant. What kind is it ? 🤗💖🌿
Titanopsis Calcarea or Concrete plant
Love your video and instructions. Would you share any of the aeonium cuttings?
Thank you for watching. I don’t have much because I give out to friends and family.
Cool video so nice to share your beautiful plants! I just got my first crested today at a nursery in Anaheim. Is a crested starburst aeonium in a 4 inch plastic pot 😍
Congratulations! Enjoy your plants!!!! Thank you for watching.
Hi my God why u didnt live down here ...o my God I love alllll..may God continue to bless u for loving nature
Awww. You’re so sweet. Thank you for watching.
How often do you water them?
Hello and thank you for watching. Just FYI, I live in NorCal , I dont get snow and my summer are in the high 90s.After my cuttings have rooted, I water same time as I water the mother plant. They are summer dormant so they don’t need much water like once every 3 weeks. During winter through spring I water once every 2 weeks.
What a distinctive pretty bloom 😊💖🌿
What season is the best month to propagate this. I have mermaids tail that’s growing sideways and I wanted to fi. It. Thank you 😊
Hello. Thanks for watching. They are winter growers but not frost hardy and summer dormant so best time to propagate is when the weather starts to cool down. My planting zone is 9B so for my area, I would do it during fall and winter. Thank you.
@@PinayMamaBear thank you so much 😊
your video over the succulent was so fast made me dizzy.
Ooops . Sorry about that.
Beautiful !!❤😊🌿
Thank you.
My love of odd and head turning vegetation extends to the yard as well. I am planning my garden to include a Harry Lauder Walking Stick and a Cryptomeria Japonica Cristata, the later being crested Japanese Cedar. Then, if you dare, take a peek at weeping evergreen trees. And there is a crested opuntia ‘roller coaster’ that I think is quite cold hardy. Conformity is way over rated.
Thank you 😊
This looks so much fun. Japan is in my bucket list. I hope I get to visit Japan......soon.
Thank you for watching.
Hello, did this plant end up rooting? I have a mermaid tail succulent that was shipped to me and when it showed up it looked very good. But now after I’ve had it a few days pieces of it are turning brown and kind of translucent and rotting. I was going to cut off the rotted pieces before I pot it. They are on the top of the plant, not the area that I will be placing on the soil. Do you think I still need to wait 10 days to let the cut area callous before I plant it? TIA!
Hello. Yes, this plant survived. In regards to yoir plant, trnslucent means overwatered. Go ahead and remove the rotted piece. Yes please let the end callous over. The thicker the stem/trunk, the longer you wait to callous. Lay the cutting on it’s side , instead of upright while drying the end so it the whole cutting doesn’t dry out.
Thanks for watching.
Thank you so much! That is what I did with the one I had. I cut off the rotting parts and ended up cutting the one big piece into a few big chunks. There was too much rot on it. The end was already significantly calloused so I went ahead and laid it on its side in some dry cactus soil and just covered up the end a little bit. Hopefully it roots!! Thank you for the helpful information!
Instant subscriber. Very helpful, and beautiful plants.

Mama Bear, I remove all my blooms coz they tend to attract bugs so I just remove them as soon as they shoot out. I love that yellow bloom from Jelly Beans.
I agree, most blooms are just pest magnets. Thank you for watching.
awww, you it pretty again.
Thank you 😊
A few of my aeoniums bloomed this month. I know they are monocarpic so they will die. thanks for sharing your aeoniums.
