    The secret for me is keeping my hair stretched and moisturized. I keep it in big twist and wear head wraps. Keeping it in twist and stretched keeps it from getting tangled.

    Thank you for saying it out loud. I did my big chop January 2021and right now my hair is shoulder length. I stopped combining my hair every single morning and I have been wearing a satin bonnet ever since. My curls are defined too. I'm excited because I haven't pass shoulder length all my life and I can see me passing it this time.

    I think for me trimming my hair every 2-3 months. And rice water does work for me, not much with length but major in thickness. Especially if I spray it in 3 times a week. I have high porosity 3b3c hair.

    I had hair that went below my waist before my big chop. I’ve realized my hair needs different maintenance as it enters different stages BUT I don’t touch it often. I just learned I need to wash it less/more often in different stages. But that’s it. Wash it when it needs to be washed, and honestly, moisturizing/detangling/styling while you’re still in the shower and letting it air dry has really helped lessen the amount of manipulation on my hair. Silk or satin hair wraps on bad hair days to hold me over until wash day also has helped me look cute whiling leaving my hair alone. I have also stayed away from heat this entire time. Not to say it’s not good for your hair, but again… you can’t stop it but you want to try to slow the breakage and that’s one of my ways of doing that. Everyone has different types of hair and techniques. Just do what works best for you.

    The truth is leave your hair alone. Constantly combing brushing getting different styles won’t grow your hair I got locs and literally never did anything I didn’t even wash my hair and it still grew. I never even moisturized them and they grew because my ends were tucked away

    I had hip length locks that I grew with nature's gate shampoo and olive oil. No conditioner, no extra products. I cut them off and got a relaxed pixie for a drastic change. I'm now still relaxed growing long again. So I can say I've had long relaxed hair, long natural locked hair...the next experiment will be long loose natural. I do use more products now but not a lot.

      Wow I do the same expect I use a shampoo oil Shea butter and a gel

    • @AsiaChar
      @AsiaChar  4 года назад +4

      Yes. I have a hypothesis for that, but I won’t be relaxing my hair to test it out. Lol.
      I feel like if you don’t over process your relaxed hair, consistently deep condition, and add protein treatments more often that it shouldn’t be too hard to have long relaxed hair.
      It surely helps that you don’t have to detangle as much as someone with natural hair. With detangling being a huge contributor to breakage with naturals.
      Nice! You know a lot about your hair!

    • @TheCelmap
      @TheCelmap 4 года назад +5

      Girl I'm the real prove that hair grows in any condition. I was able to grow my relaxed hair to fully mid back from shoulder length in 2 years. Hair was full, healthy and people did envy my hair.
      Now I'm transitioning, will hit two years post relaxer next month and still have 6 inches of leftover relaxed hair and it still look good. My new grow it superrr healthy and long. I have mesured it, its 10 inches. In total I'm brastrap with 16 inches of hair. There's no secret out here, concistency, working hard, get to know your hair, moisture and protein balance, protective style is key. My hair doesn't grow fast it's only grows 0.5 inch per month. Learn your hair is the only and major secret.

    I have low porosity, type 4C hair. I got my hair cut down to 1 cm length😭. Almost everyday or every 2 days I would put water in my hair and put castor oil in it afterwards. I also washed my hair once every week. A month later after that big chop my hair is at 3.5 centimeters. Any tips you can give me?

    • @AsiaChar
      @AsiaChar  3 года назад +10

      Sounds like your hair is growing nicely to me.
      Only thing I could add is to keep your hair in a protective style that keeps your hair detangled as much as possible until you wash it again the following week.
      Also if you’re constantly putting that much oil in your hair, moisture can’t really penetrate. Because as much as oil “locks in” moisture, it stops moisture from getting back in as well. It has to be cleansed away to properly “re-moisturize.” If adding water and oil every day or two works, keep it up. But I know if I did that with my hair type, my hair would be dry and brittle by the end of the week.
      I hope that helps.

    Can you tell me what is your diet what is your lifestyle that keeps your hair growing?
    Are you a sugarholic like me?
    Because one thing that I know is that your diet plays a big role in your hair growth and if your hair products is not working, then you need to check your diet.
    How often do you exercise?
    You can grow your hair in 5 months in my hair is still at the big chop stage for more than a year. I I did my hair massages and wash my hair I am starting to put moisturizer products in my hair.
    Can you please teach me about your lifestyle so I can improve myself and grow your hair because there is no way that you could use those hair products alone without taking care of your well-being
    Like how often do you exercise? How long do you do it?
    Do you put on protective hairstyles? And I'm talking about fake braids not with your real hair
