My Maximum Length Retention Routine | Asia Char

- This is my maximum length routine. It also can be categorized as a long term length retention challenge because that’s kind of what it is.
I’ve went over all of this before, but now all of the bits & pieces from my routine are in one cohesive video.
( I’m 14 Months Post Big Chop In This Video )
Routine:
- Wash hair every week
- Deep Condition every week
- Protective Style (Weekly or Monthly) [leave your hair properly protectived & leave it alone]
- Moisturized Daily (spritzed with water)
- At Least 15 Minutes Of Intense Exercise (Increase Blood-Flow)
- No Heat!
- Effort, Patience, & CONSISTENCY!

My Natural Hair:
- I’ve been completely natural since 2013
- I Big chopped for the 3rd time on Nov 2nd 2017
- I did a mini chop to get rid of any remaining damaged hair on January 1st 2018
- I have 4b/4c hair
- I have fine strands & medium density
- I retain at least 4 inches a year (more if I do really good)

Yes, I think that was the beauty in downfall. I’m able to show in further detail how I get to my goal instead of already being at the goal trying to explain what I had did in previous years. Two totally different perspectives.

Hi. Can I ask what month (in your journey) you stopped co washing daily and why?
Hey,
I don’t remember the exact month, but it was the point where I wasn’t wearing my twa out anymore. So when I got to the awkward stage. I stopped because I had to start detangling my hair and co washing everyday would be daily detangling. Detangling, for me, means unnecessary breakage. So I do that as less as possible.
Asia Char thanks. I shaved my hair Feb last year and have like 5ish inches of hair rn. I was considering doing the cowash daily thing but now i resulted to continuing my weekly wash but wet and moisturise daily. I’m just scared wearing my hair out everyday won’t grow my hair.
It depends on the person. My hair has definitely retained more length with me not wearing it out vs when I use to style it frequently. It still grew long doing both, but way more length with leaving it alone.
Honestly when my hair gets long enough to where I can co wash almost daily and be able to just put it in a nice looking bubble ponytail with my shrinkage, I will be back to doing that.

Can you wash and deep condition your hair while it's in cornrows?
Yes, I’ve done it. You just have to be thorough when rinsing out the cleanser.

I didn’t make the wig though. It’s a unit on HerGivenHair’s site that is called “Bob Me Coily.” I did shape it to the way my hair use to look when it was longer to fit my face better.
