I have low density and fine strands as well. I find I can get a fuller looking fro starting from shrunken hair. Stretching the hair takes away from the volume.
The heat stretching thing is so true I (having low-porosity hair) can blow dry my hair a lot without damage while my little sister (who has high porosity) can't.
That's interesting cause I have low P and can't put heat can't put chemicals like texturizing and perms , I have colored my hair several times and found my hair won't grow i have to cut the color out, then my hair seems to just race from my roots, Like my ancestors were saying thank you Soo much for releasing us from that chemical prison , Pluses my hair is auburn Soo , i guess I'm recently accepting that no other people accept my bloodline defines some of me
@@angelvenus-africa4161 you might have fine strands and OP might have coarse strands. Strand diameter is something that determines fragility of hair as well.

Porosity was the game changer for me. When I first went natural I wasted so much time and products worring about hair type 🙄 When I found out about prorosity, I finally understood why the LOC method wasn't working for me and I actually needed LCO 🙌🏽
I know this comment was 3 years ago but I've used the LOG(Leave-in, Oil, Gel) method and its worked wonders tbh creams are just wayyy to thick for my hair
This video is so informative! I am finally understanding my hair at 45 years old!☺️ I have always loved my hair I just didn't understand it! I thank GOD for people like you who decided to share your knowledge.... Thank you so much!

I so wish I saw this video before cutting 9 inches off my hair. I didn't use heat to dry my hair often as I thought it wasn't good for my hair.. But when I did use a low heat, my hair seemed to be in a much better condition. This video made so much sense to me. Now I have future reference. Thank you 😊

Aww thank u so much @greenbeauty. Almost 10 months after my 2nd big chop I now understand why my hair likes some sort of blow drying to really stretch it out. 😍😍😍 Game changer. 🔥🔥💃🏽 Low porosity, thick, dense, high shrinkage. ☺️
I'm confused 🤔...some videos say low porosity hair is hard to stay hydrated and she says it's easy...other videos say high porosity is where moisture stays in your hair and low porosity hair does not...I think that's why my hair is at a stand still 8 yrs after being natural...I still don't know what is best...I just may give up...
I think I just found my hair type twin lol. My hair, and ends look just like yours and I have the most trouble with keeping my hair moisturized and my ends give me such a hard time. I definitely just subscribed and I'm will be binge watching your videos. This was so professional and helpful. Thank you!! ❤❤
Idk another you tuber pointed out the low porosity hair takes longer to soak in water/moisture. So using little water doesn’t get the job done. Usually my hair needs some steam in order to really soak in water. Not sure I relate to the point You’ve made here
After stressing and pondering what type of hair I have over a period time. I finally came to the conclusion. I have medium porosity, med density, med thickness. Medium everything.
THANK YOU. Simple. Straightforward. High on useful information. Low on filler chatter. I have LoPo and cannot figure it out. I would love it if you would do a video on how to determine if your hair is protein sensitive and how to eliminate excess shedding. I am LoPo with fine hair and medium density. Thanks.

Your hair is lovely. Nice to see you again. I think I'm low porosity but never really checked or made it a deal. I'll have to check and start caring for my hair based on its porosity and see if that helps.
I love your hair! It's so long and beautiful. I'm actually a bit jealous but I'm so happy that your hair is so long and gorgeous! It's not that my hair isn't growing I just don't have patience lol.
I've noticed that I can't moisturize my hair after I wash it .it has to dry a bit and then I add a bit of warm water before using grease to seal. a little bit of warm water goes a long way.
This is the best video explaining how to look after my hair thank you so much, I've been over watering my hair, because I thought that's what I had to do. I heard low porosity hair, needs more water. But my hair as been so frizzy after the take down.
It take longer to full saturate low porosity hair with water. But, once it’s wet, it take a long time for it to fully dry on its own. So, it holds on to water for a longer time than high porosity hair.
@@GreenBeauty your videos have taught me so much. Knowing I have low porosity hair and using heat is a game changer 🙌 thank you. By the way I love 💘 your protein conditioner.
With low porosity hair, the cuticles tend to overlap each other and are tightly packed together. Because there are no spaces between the cuticles, it makes it harder for water, as well as products like oils and conditioners, to deliver moisture to the hair shaft.
@@GreenBeauty but how can I saturate it with water? I have low / medium po hair that actually requires a lot of water to moisturize it. Even though fine, it does take my cuticle some time to open. Those tiny spritzest are a joke for me lol. Yet once I do get the moisture in, it lasts for a few days
I'm so confused now!! 🤔 I did the strand test and it floated also products sit on my hair, that usually means I'm low porosity!! Dense meaning I have A A LOT of hair on my head. Fine meaning my individual hair strands are thin.
