    Ms. I don't know if you know how much all of the hard work you put into your research and videos is greatly appreciated. EVERYTHING you say makes perfect sense and you deliver them with unopinionated facts. I make reference to a 300-page long herbal medicine bible from time to time when I have aches and pain. 10:42 exactly!!!! Not trying to self promote but I did a whole video on this. Like I broke it down with even a clip showing how the oil is made! Still got messages telling me I'm wrong cause as she said "coconut oil makes my hair stiff so therefore it does have protein". lol.......Anyway Girl I hope this video hit over a million!!!

    • @AureliesANatural
      @AureliesANatural 7 лет назад +69

      NappyFu TV I saw that video NappyFu. the oil itself is hydrophobic so it wouldn't contain protein. but coconut like all nuts have protein in it but the protein isn't in the oil, it's in the milk/water. protein can end up in the oil if the oil has not been refined properly. but that's essentially what's in your video

      NappyFu TV - not all coconut oil are created equal. Some of these manufacturers use sodium in the refining process. This dries out the hair and leaves it ragged and damaged!

      My sister had the opposite issue with her daughter’s hair. She’s biracial but her hair is straight and behaves like white hair. She had no idea what to do with her hair. 😂
      My daughter (also mixed) has hair kind of in between. My biggest struggle has been convincing my husband’s parents how important moisturizer is to my kids’ hair and that the unmanageably was because of the type of combs and brushes they were using. My kids don’t have hair as curly as mine but it’s not as straight as my white FIL’s is or Native MIL’s was. They can’t use fine toothed combs or the same brushes they do. Plus my kids are part me, they need moisturizer, not the same type or amount as me, but it is needed. Almost 14 years and it’s still a battle sometimes. 🤦🏾‍♀️

    I have low porosity hair and can't stand coconut oil. Tried the coconut oil recommendations in the video regarding coconut oil multiple times years ago and they didn't work. It's over used in tons of hair beauty products. I wish companies would stop putting coconut oil in everything because not everyone wants to buy products containing the oil. Plus, I think it's probably a cheap tactic companies use to fill their bottles without putting so much of better quality oils in the products.

    there will always be bandwagons..but not because there is, means the claims are false. Glad you pointed out the protein issue...however irrespective of how some oils are used, some hair just do not work the same way.. just as not all 'dry' skin folks have the same luck with a product geared towards that particular skin type. There are a number of oils my hair just do not like...coconut is one of them (even when I was in my relaxed state).

    I subbed to your channel. I didn't always have such hair struggles until I moved and have been on well water. My hair has become a nightmare to deal with and it started breaking. With well water, there is a build up due to the minerals, so that in conjunction to any styling products, my hair has become unruly, frizzy, dry and started breaking. I used to think my hair was high porosity, but now I know it's low porosity. And, it makes sense that heat helps relax the cuticle, because when I used some heating tools on my hair, I actually had less breakage. Thank you for this content.

    great video, and I saw the videos about the coconut oil sensitivity but I didn't believe it. through my cosmetology class I learned that conditioner should be applied at least 1 inch from the scalp. when I started doing this all the itching stopped. so build was really the issue. very informative.

    I love you! Thank you for your research and knowledge that you share w us! I' ve recently found out that I'm a low porosity girl, and that my efforts in taking care of my hair were nule because I wasn't helping my curls to take in the products I was using (and was starting to believe that I shouldn't use coconut oil) You're helping me so much in my journey to healthy curls! Lots of love

    I love your breakdowns always simple but very informative! I am actually very allergic & have food sensitivity to all tree nuts & dairy products which makes it hard for me because coconut, almond, & shea butter are staple products in practically ALL natural hair products. So I always have to be careful because it's a regular occurrence where I wake up the next day with half of my face swollen or looking like straight out of the scene from the movie Hitch. Very frustrating & defeating sometimes. If possible can you do a video on products you can use if you have nut sensitivity? It would help me immensely! ♡♡♡ Thanks!

    Oh my gosh. I think I luv u. Soooo many questions answered, misconceptions dealt with... especially with the "coconut sensitivity" thing, which did NOT make sense to me (that coconut oil could be a problem of 'sensitivity' for a person's hair)! I'm bone watching. I need to correct some wrong ideas and put all the information in the right context. Thanks so much.

    That coconut oil bit is so true. The oil solidifies on my strands making it feel hard, stiff.

    Girl! This has got to be the most informative videos I've seen in a LONG time. The animations were very helpful! I've been tweaking my regimen for about 8 years now, since I have pretty much all types, patterns, and textures in one head of hair, but I'm glad to see you've covered some critical findings I've discovered with my own journey! I wish I would have found you back then! But I'm very thankful you've put this info out in such a beautiful and professional way. Gorgeous video!I'm proud! 🍫🍫🍫

    Oh my goodness. Patience is.is a virtue!! I have been doing g my best to wait patiently for you to put a video out on low porosity hair. I believe I am 4 years into my Hai journey and I still do jot understand what my hair needs and wants it is getting too much for me. I need to write you a separate letter to explain all this. However after not understanding how knowing my hair type ABC 123.... stuff I saw your video on porosity and said "Now this makes sense something I can understand as a nurse and loving human biology!" 😄 However my hair continues to elude me and I want to throw in the towel on natural hair. All I did before was press and curl my hair so I just had to get away from heat. And my curl pattern and porosity are too much to deal with I need a break and will watch your videos again on how to prepare my hair and myself for braids.
