- This is a scene at first left me randomly singing girl just want to have fun, and i didn't realize why! But now i can hear in the background a steampunk version of the song!
I think this scene is just amazing as it describes what Elizabeth is going through, She is just a girl who wants to have fun!

that's the best line, nothing beats it
Laenthor wrong, I get so pissed everytime
He's not wrong though
A lot of people hate on Bioshock Infinite, but the writing, if nothing else, was amazing. I’ve never felt more attached to a protagonist than in this game, especially because he wasn’t just an extension of my personality, he was a genuine character who did his own thing and had his own thoughts that I genuinely couldn’t affect no matter what.
Lines from this game haunt me to this day, in the best way possible (primarily when I hear people pounding on my door, not gonna lie) and I love it.
Yes
This was the happiest I was in this game.
It was the happiest she had ever been in her entire sequestered life, and it scarcely lasted a moment.
The next time a lovely young girl begs you to take her to Paris, just take her to Paris will you? ;'''(
@Deano M meanie. Then again Paris is an Islamic and third world War zone these days so maybe Prague would be a better choice.
@@juliapigworthy at least a few decades ago Paris would of been nice
I should have never played the DLC.
@@Inlongrunwearealldead Its a must play sadly to understand a lot of thinggies :( but ye i will play again tomorrow wish me fun :3 and explore it fully :)
"Some boys take a beautiful girl, and hide her away from the rest of the world. I wanna be the one to walk in the sun, oh, girls just wanna have fun"
+Jose Awe They picked some pretty good songs to add to the themes of this game.
It's amazing how well the song fits. Very saddening in retrospect
This is so so wonderful! The music, the feeling and how Elizabeth laughs. It's just an amazing game :)
@Valuable-Honey-172 I agree as well
I will never be more in love with a game's animations than I am with Elizabeth.
Absolutely amazing character.
so she bumped off Lara Croft from your #1 spot? XD
@@decimated550 Nah, Lara was never any part of even a top 10. Elizabeth, though... such personality and character development, plus she played an awesome role and helped in gunfights to boot.
It makes me sad that Elizabeth only managed this one short moment of happiness in her life, not only the game, before (as a result of your actions in the game) she essentially ceases to exist as Elizabeth, meaning that this one happy moment never actually happened. It may in the end prove to be a happy ending of sorts, but not for the character you enjoyed. Also she never did get to see Paris.
She actually did, for a brief moment before having to close it due to an oncoming bus.
danh951 She didn't stop being Elizabeth shortly after this scene, she swapped places with another iteration of herself. A shorter haired, harder iteration. The original Elizabeth returns in the last few minutes of the game... The rightmost one if my memory serves me correctly.
Damn. Very confusing but yes.
Isn't she in Paris in one of the expansions?
i think you didnt see the expansion bro'
Booker declined this dance from Elizabeth yet in Burial at Sea we finally saw them dance together (and got electrocuted)
I love this scene. Seeing Liz all happy and excited discovering the outside world. Good times.
I once heard a great quote, when explaining the ending to Infinite: "If you think about it, BioShock Infinite is really just a story about a father and his long-lost daughter spending some quality time together".
Yet you think a girl who's been kept in a tower for all her life wouldn't able to function in social situation
Except she didn’t dance with booker.. didn’t you finish the DLC?
@@jd_1256 Booker is Comstock man, so yes, he danced with Booker, all the Comstocks are bookers
@@yoyix93 WAH
there is a house near the graveyard where Lady Comstock is, in that house there is a tear, if you get close to it you can hear this song playing!!! not a steampunk version but the original one :D
This isn't really steampunk though. This is more like a jolly carnival version
Yeah whatever, It's still a cool easter egg right ? :D
Yeah, I remember going up to it and hearing that.
MauriceDW The house where you find Albert Fink's body?
I made a video of it, it's on my channel :P
Bioshock Infinite: The game that just keeps giving.
I guess you could say it's... infinite?
Hence the name :D
whatttt???
Later in the game you go through Fink's brother's house (the 'songwriter' of all Columbia's music) and you can hear the actual Girls Just Wanna Have Fun playing through a tear in his living room.
girl just survived a giant birb crashes her house then falling from sky and immediately decided to go dancing
I need her energy
Imagine being trapped for 19 years, finally being free and you land on a beach with people dancing everywhere, are you going to sit down or go to sleep?
Watching this after finish Burial at Sea 2 make me so sad, her happiness is too short :(
she followed her father foot step... knowing she will have to pay the debt with the cost of her own life.
Don't worry, Burial At Sea Elizabeth isn't this one.
@@kabronex9877 it is..
@@Jonas-xl4wg not, alternate universes exist even says so in the ending
Wacka Dack no shit Sherlock
I started Infinite a month ago and just finished the DLC today. I didnt expect I would enjoy it as much as I did. The story between Booker and Elizabeth just made me feel so many emotions. This was the happiest moment in Elizabeth’s life, her first interaction with other people and the outside world after being caged for her whole life and its a shame Booker didnt just enjoy it with her. Some people say this game is Booker spending time with his daughter but its unfortunate that for the whole entire time that he was with her, he didnt know she was his daughter. Maybe if he knew, he’d have taken the moment to dance with her before getting her out of that place. Maybe he’d have taken a moment to slow down and appreciate being with her again. He only found out she was his daughter once it was too late. Still though, the way Elizabeth misses him in the DLC makes me believe in the end he redeemed himself as a father. I think Booker would have wanted her to leave the past behind and live a happy life instead of pursuing what she did in the DLC. A touching story. Tragic, but touching. I hope they are together in some sort of heaven now.
It's not an easter egg :/ it's part of the story. Albert Flink (Jeremiah Flink's brother) was a composer of Columbia (he ran Magical Melodies Studio, at Emporia) that plagiarized musics trough the tears. You can hear more songs like that trough the game.
That's a great excuse to plagiarize music! I wonder how the court would deal with something like that.
It's not plaigarism. They got the license.
I mean the Albert Fink guy. He gets songs from the future through tears, reworks them into period-accurate ones and takes all the credit.
It's still an easter egg.
In the revolution mission a woman is singing fortunate son
I’m sad this is the only happy moment Elizabeth will ever get but I’m happy so many people share the same feelings.
The funny thing is how thoroughly unimpressed Booker is.
word I would love to be with this girl in this game, and he keeps on being rude and quick to get rid of her lol
USAlien234 Elizabeth is technically Booker's daughter but from a different universe.
First of all, it's clear that he didn't play the game, so why spoil it for him?
Second of all, it would be a classic, amusing Oedipus scenario.
mhswlee Oedipus is for mother and son, it should be Electra complex in this case (amusing Electra scenario).
Stalwartheart14
Spoiler, and also you're not right.
when replaying through the game, I like to hang out there on the beach with Elizabeth for awhile rather than rushing through. This time and place are about as happy as the world gets.
Seriously, Elizabeth reminds of Belle from The Beauty and the Beast.
Anyone find that uncanny?
Yup!
Never saw that movie
I also notice the game feels like a Disney story, a dark and twisted Disney story😀
She was very slightly based on Belle
KevinkatTheKat I can see a bit of the imagery behind from BnB rub off on the story.
Songbird is a little bit like the Beast, and Elizabeth is like Belle in a way.
I knew I wasn't hearing things
This game is so screwed up... In a good way.
Albert Fink does good covers
What I personally love about this is that the tinny, slower rendition that comes with altering this song in this way gives it a subtle melancholic feel - which both perfectly sums up Booker's and Elizabeth's relationship and sadly provides something akin to foreshadowing to how it all ends. It's beautiful in its bleakness, an unspoken testament to how it's all downhill from here for them.
But hey that might just be me.
God, im in love with an animated girl and everything about her
jesus, getting back to this after 9 years, now I'm 32. Time is sure fast and cruel.
@@duydome still in love after all these years?
@@duydome Scheiße, how about a year later?
Ah, if only there were more fun moments like this in Bioshock: Infinite. Guess ill have to open a tear to a reality where there is.
game makers are so awesome
Damn it's nice to see Elizabeth happy for once, I wish they released a dlc where Booker and Elizabeth just do normal family things for fun, it'd be refreshing.
Omg I don't know why, but Elizabeth's movement and facial expressions are just so cute at the beginning of the video c:
Did anyone else have that goosebumps realization moment in this game when they actually and I mean ACTUALLY realized the 4th wall break moment (not just this song) but even the ending where it was like “holy shit no matter what I do it’s all the same” this was the most beautifully pieced together mastercrafted work of art I’ve played in a while. Definitely ahead of its time
There's actually many songs that are done like this. The four men singing near the start of the game, God Only Knows, is from the Beach Boys. There's a girl singing Fortunate Son after entering the second tear. Many more.
These are explained in the lore by voxophones that describe a musician that hears this music through tears and ends up trying to mimic them.
This is the end of the game as far as I'm concerned. Nothing else happens after this. Elizabeth dances all night and they both live happily ever after, the end.
The game is set in 1912, and much if not all the songs and music are from a later year.
Funny thing is, there is a perfect ingame explanation to that.
I can't fucking believe I never noticed this I'm mind blown
James Forbes wait until you hear the story behind it, then your mind will explode
after 8 years and still learning
oh-my-god
A lot of the songs they covered (Everybody Wants to Rule the World, Tainted Love, Shiny Happy People, etc) have lyrics applicable to the game's story, it's pretty cool.
Great find! I think I must have heard this subliminally, because this was what I thought of when Elizabeth was dancing. This might be one of the very few games I played all of the way through without cheat codes. I think Half Life 2 was the other. Elizabeth was a book I couldn't put down.
One of the most important and impacting scenes in the videogame (in the way to understand the story)
Obsessed with the bioshock trilogy! Infinite and especially this scene is somewhat emotional and melanchonic❤
THIS MAKES ME SAD :C
Same for me. At first I was walking a bit around, listening with one ear. And while I was stopping to see a group picture I just hum the song and get what it was. Man. My smile was just so wide after ^^
I'm in love in Bioshock because of those details; this one or when Booker accompanies Elizabeth with a guitar or distorted Canon in D in the mad house
I got the Platinum trophy in that game on PS3 . So many sweet memories. One of the greatest games of all-time. Can't tell really why, but it is just enchants you!
"My Dear brother, These holes in the thin air continue to pay dividends. I know not which musician you borrow your notes from, but if he has half the genius of the biologist I now observe, well... then you are about to be the Mozart of Columbia." Jeremiah Finks Reaction to a tear with the song girls just wanna have fun
Elizabeth reminds me of a Disney princess
Knowing her fate in burial at sea makes this happy scene the saddest thing ever.
Took me a minute to figure it out! 😅 that's what gave this game a good twist. The great songs it snuck in at appropriate places.
Bioshock 4 confirmed
+Anthony Posada nah, company filed for bankruptcy
+Undefined2015 Irrational did. 2K Games is going ahead without them or Levine for bioshock 4.
+Anthony Posada you seen what they did to bioshock 2, doubt they'll make it quality like irrational does.
this guy knows shit
+Undefined2015 i know there are many atheist and Catholic believers dislike and boycott the game because it features baotism scene but hey i don't think that is too serious or religous. There are another "Blacks live matter" thing hates this game because it kills off Daisy in the middle of the game. Wish Urrational game could go back and make another Bioshock that features Booker, Anna, and Lutece twins in an alternate universe after the end of Burial at Sea 2. Well my hope is gone when they declared shutting down the studio.
Holy crap!!!! that's amazing!!!!! so catchy too. God damn, they're geniuses
This is an Easter egg!? This was my FAVORITE part of the game!
I noticed this while playing. And once I did, I stood still. And just listened. Then after about 10 minutes, I started playing again.
I remember another part of the game, it played a really old version of tainted love
In the same house you could play a guitar and Elizabeth will sing will the circle be unbroken
there's also fortunate son from creedence clearwater revival.
and girls just wanna have fun
Dang. I found the tear that was playing this near the end of the game, but had no idea it was hidden here in plain sight all along.
This is like a Disney movie
If you read the bio, a random civilian accidentally came across a tear that looked into the future. The person heard the song playing on the other side, and he used the melody from the song for the carnival. It's really cool actually.
What's more incredible is how long the clouds kept the destroyed statue of columbia hidden
It sucks, right after this is when Elizabeth sees you kill someone for the first time.
I'm waaaaaay late to this, but just started BS:I one after finishing 1&2. I heard the melody and was like "am I hearing what I think I'm hearing?". The "what in the world could make us stop" part is what clued me in.
Those battleships with all the cannons provide a pretty sinister backdrop…
The setting of this is so tranquil and so beautiful. I noticed the song when I first played the game. I felt like Booker Dewitt as I have children who were taken away and it always causes anguish.
My father gave me up and there is some pain to be felt there, too. Infinite does give some serenity and peace knowing I won't have to go through any of what these characters did. Beautiful setting, indeed.
That one is well hidden..
This song always brings me to tears miss you grandma 😥
There's also an easter egg in Shantytown. When you find a guitar, you can play it, and Elizabeth will sing "Will the Circle be Unbroken" to it. :')
Elizabeth is honestly so adorable
Disney's _Tangled_ is looking lit.
Good one
She’s basically a Disney Princess
Only those with heart can sense this beautiful dark atmosphere
This makes me feel so nostalgic.
It can also be found on your back to the Comstock how's gates, it will be a orange tear, and there will be a tape with it to, it will be above a little bit, but its pretty funny it will be the house that has broken off of the rest
That's like when I realized only seeing someone else's video that the barber shop quartet toward the beginning of the game are singing another modern song. It's a pretty amusing little detail what with that one guy stealing future songs from tears.
This is explained in the game. Albert Fink, a music shop owner and a producer, is using time tears to steal music notes from future.
The actual song plays at one of the tears in the music shop near the end for a few seconds. I think it is a reference to the New York attack scene in 1984 as the song was released in 1983 although the game takes place in 1912
They had the actual song near the ghost building
Esta canción me hizo llorar y no se porque y la considero una canción muy alegré de los 80'
I heard this when I was playing and just burst out laughing, my girlfriend thought I was nuts, then I showed it to her and now she wont give me my game back....
Ohhhhhh, I thought it sounded familiar. I had the Bioshock unofficial ost and this was on it and when I first listened to it I knew it sounded like something I heard before
During my journey, i was excited to finish it so they can reach to Paris. I was sure that both will fell in love, until the game reveals that she Is His daughter...
Exactly. Furthermore, you can visit the musician's shop and you'll find a tear from where you can hear the actual 'girls just wanna have fun' from.
There's a tear in finks shop where you can hear the actual song, lyrics and all. Plus there's another tear where you can hear Fortunate Son by CCR and at another part in the game, you can hear a recorded playing Tainted Love by Gloria.
One of the best games ever maded ❤
Had Infinite sitting on my shelf still in the packaging until about a year ago when I got Covid and wanted something fresh I could play while I quarantined. The only regret I have was not playing infinite years ago. Such an mazing game and story. Moments like these after completing it make me want to run through it again.
I heard the song way later in the game when im going to the Comstock house and yes I was searching around for things then I saw a terror playing this song.
She shall forever remain, adorable.
Wildly subtle example of foreshadowing
this song is in another place in the game too :D its in one of the buildings towards the end where there is a void thing and its playing this song when you get close to it
Yes. A composer from Columbia listened to the actual song (the one in the red tear) and liked it.
I never even guessed this was there. I mean, I heard the Cyndi Lauper version coming out of one of the 'red tears' near the Memorial Gardens, but this went right over my head. Thanks for pointing it out!
Sometime I wish they didn't made that DLC
"Hey! I'm looking for a young AIRSHIP...."
2024 Here
Theres a little secret in the game where you can find one of these tmporary tear playing the original Cyndi Lauper song, then can be found a recording where someone says that has discovered a revolution in music.
But its not actually an easter egg.
Throughout the game you can hear of a man that listened to modern songs through tears and made his own version of them - those you hear in the game.
MagnifiqueRarity
Theres a breach into another dimension at a moment near the end of the game where you can clearly hear this song from Madonna, but its kinda hidden
Yes. There is even a tear at Fink Manufacturing playing the real Fortunate Son song by Creendence Clearwater Revival.
+MagnifiqueRarity I still think this 'Steampunk version' of the song still counts as being an Easter Egg. It's a hidden-in-plain-sight reference to something that is explained later in the game.
this was the best game i ever played in my life..
euboggy 6 years later it still is
the realising is by the ending tear
I heard Tainted Love over one of the radios and It mad me think that it was actually an old song Soft Cell covered, then I heard Fortunate Son and realized they were just doing these easter eggs lol.
One of the most amazing games , never gets old .
I feel this fits in with all the bioshocks as for all of them the story heavily revolves around young girls
there are more of these easter eggs, one of the most clearly show is "God only knows" with the quartet singing it in the first scene in the city.
another one is "Fortunate son" when you get into the Vox rebellion, there is a black woman singing this song at the spot where first the labor agitators where held captive, there are some more songs which i havent heard yet but saw in the post game credits.
Intermixing old style versions of modern songs was really clever and made the world really "off"
I thought that music was familiar to me the first time i heard it, i just couldn't remember the name of the song. Thank you for this video.
I heard the original version later in the game close to a tear.
Imagine that somebody in Columbia felt in love when heard this music. Then Imagine year 1955. A man sing this as a lullaby for his granddauther, which makes song basing on this lullaby in 1983 - Cyndi Lauper. Spacetime loophole mindfuck.
