And she actually helped you by keeping you supplied with money, ammo, health, and opened tears to useful things during combat. She would help you find materials like lockpicks. Her character is good, but im really impressed with her programming and design. A companion can easily get annoying and in the way if not done right.

When you see how happy she was on the beach, you just can't help but wanting her to feel happy as much as possible...but sadly, it was not ment to be...curse you, Comstock.
She was never naive. This is the one Elizabeth of infinite (pun intended) that we and booker got to experience. She simply didn't know of her other Elizabeths until the end. All of them are connected with each other because they're the same person. As this Elizabeth was in the tower getting dressed or making her hair, another one was in Rapture working with booker on finding Sally, and another one was witnessing the vox populi revolution.
Elizabeth, she wants adventure in the great, wide somewhere, she wants it more than she can tell, and for once it might be grand, to have Booker understand, she wants it more than they've got planned. ;)
