I love this. Not only is it a beautiful piece, but the entire affair transcends both linguistic and cultural barriers: their audience here is one of the most reactive and lively I've heard for one of their 'stage' performances.
That was such a powerful and inspiring performance. Truly expresses the emotion music can evoke!
15 years on.... and still we don't see much of this type of back-garden type music - the basics should be taught in schools: so much fun playing on everyday objects and scrap pipes etc.. No?

Brilliant! This gave me chills. I've seen them twice live and, although I haven't seen it done like this, this song has always been my favorite of theirs.
Thats pretty cool. The transition from a humorous act to an epic ending was phenomenal!

Amazing. Just amazing. I always knew that the music of BMG could speak to the entire world, but I'd have never come up with this. The orchestral backing gives PVC IV an absolutely epic sounds.
Also, the bit at 4:00? Hilarious!

It's a zither. I saw it on their "Complex Tour" album/stageshow, too. Marvelous instrument.
I want this as a recording without the voice and so on, but with studio quality, thumbs up of you want that Blue Man Group record this song with quality exactly like in this video!

@222raf it's TV program called '題名のない音楽会' ('Daimei no nai Ongakukai'). This episode was aired on March 9,2008. But I don't know whether you can find it in better quality.

You just cannot penetrate the mentality of the musical directors of these shows - they don't bother to ask people what they'd like to hear/see before they deliver the show. And don't get me started on video directors!!

Just goes to show ya, those people like other stuff besides "highbrow", and show a sense of humor besides! Loved the whole thing, including the commentary. I can see wanting it without commentary for permanent listening, but it fit right in with BMG style. Would those peeps complaining be doing so if it were in
English? And in the first place, do they know what etude means?
