    Ingredients :
    ===========
    1 lb beef chuck (80% lean 20% fat)
    1 medium onion, finely chopped
    2 tsp ginger and garlic paste
    ¼ cup mint, finely chopped
    ¼ cup coriander, finely chopped
    2 tbsp butter, melted
    1 green chilli (grind into paste in an electric grinder)
    1 tsp coriander powder
    ¾ tsp cumin powder
    ¾ tsp cayenne pepper (I add 1 tsp because I like it real spicy)
    1 tsp salt
    1 cup yogurt (Indian style such as Gopi)
    2 tbsp mint
    2 tbsp coriander
    1 medium green chilli

    Lots of comments that these have to be lamb...no they don't...I always make with minced beef and they are great...in India they use lamb because Hindus don't eat beef for religious reasons...but it tastes just as good and is entirely up to the cook.
    Great video Sweetie...thank you for sharing it .

    This was easy and turned out great! I didn't have coriander in the house but it was still good. I didn't use onions as i felt they'd give off too much water .. just onion powder worked well. I also found that it was falling off the skewer so I added 2 -3 tsp besan and 1 tablespoon of flax egg replacer. Thanks for the recipe.

    Hey there Rookie with a cookie,
    I have tried this recipe with beef mince. It was absolutely lovely except I did not drain out the onion juice well enough.
    I was wondering if this recipe was used on lamb mince, would there be any ingredient measurements that need to change? Or, extra ingredients to add in or take out?
    Keep up the good work :)

    I'm still learning Dasi food for my husband and one thing I did learn from my mother in law is.. When you make kabobs in the oven get a charcoal and burn it on the stove careful and put the cooked kabobs on a pan and put the hot charcoal and cover it with aluminum foil to give it a BBQ/charcoal taste.. I dont know if you do that but it could be a good tip to add on another recipe video...

    If you do not want the smoke issue and your alarm go off then do not put the foil on the base level of the oven. Prepare the trey (the original one, which comes with the oven or any other that can fit on it's different levels) with foil and place the trey just above the zero level, better on the second level and then place the grill which you will use to place skewers. The focus is, not to let the oil or melted fat & butter burn instantly. The smoke is generated from the direct/instant burning of oil or melted fat & butter. I am doing SEEKH KABAB for quite a long time)) And yeah, I tried your recipe, it's just amazing.)) Thanks!

    • @rookiewithacookie
      @rookiewithacookie  8 лет назад +1

      +Vakas Kazmi You're absolutely right. As you noticed, I throw my kebab directly on the grill because I want that charred texture. And that's why the alarm goes off. I love the smoke:D And thank you for trying and loving the recipe! You should definitely try the tandoori chicken!

    If you are adding butter, your smoke point is around 300 F. Since you are cooking at 450 F , you may want to try ghee or some other oil that is stable at higher temperatures.

Why all these recipes called Indian because the origin of these recipes is India, means when India and Pakistan were called India and these dishes are from the Muslim emperors era who ruled India for more than 700 year!

      Kebab is a Persian word and it means gril... I don't know how in world this word became the name of pakistani dish... please!

      Let me educate you since your homework is not complete and grammatically incorrect... While the "word" kebab may be Persian (linguistically), the Seekh Kebab has its origin in the Mughal time period. You can do your research. Happy learning:)

    Hi there! Saw u for the first time. Went through ur recipe. I liked it cos I love experimenting food from different countries. Am gonna try today . Liked ur presentation. I find u cute. Love Pakistani food. Thank u so much for the lovely recipe. God bless you. Don't take notice of the nasty comments cos these people are unhappy with themselves so they can't stand the achievements of others.
