It's astounding how the music of FF has infiltrated so many countries and cultures around the world. I had a friend who grew up in Mexico, and not in any major city, but a few hours outside Mexico city, in a small town in southern Mexico. He was at a cafe that was kind of in the middle of the jungle and there was a local guitarist there my friend recognized a song that turned out to be "Searching for Friends". After he finished the song, my friend signals him from a few tables over and says "Final Fantasy?!" and he says so excitedly with a huge smile on his face, "Si! Si!". You can't make this stuff up.
No replies? Man, if I was either of them, that would be one of the happiest days of my life. Seeing someone knows and appreciate game music as much as I do. I don't know anybody aside from my direct family (mom, dad and brother) who appreciate game music as I would and this occurrence you said is like "actually finding the needle in the haystack" feeling. I play some game music (chrono series, FF series , etc.) not because I want to just learn it or improve my skills bt also because I am too invested in the world that I'm playing and playing it's pieces would be the best option for me to become a part of that world. Beautiful.
A few years back I was at a Chinese buffet in a small, middle-of-nowhere Kentucky town. Population about 2,000. Anyway, we're sitting there eating and an instrumental arrangement of "Eyes of Me" from FF8 started playing. Nobody else seemed to recognize the song but I started nerding out hardcore, had to explain where the song was from to the people with me.
Don't you love it when a video game song you love gets played in a place you never expect? A few years ago, during halftime at an NFL game in Los Angeles, a choir came out and sang "Baba Yetu" from Civilization 4. I felt like I was the _only_ one in the whole stadium who knew the lyrics!
This band from Eslöv in southern Sweden is actually one of the 25 bands in the Swedish Home Guard. These bands alternate with three professional military bands in providing music for the changing of the guards ceremony in Stockholm. Good music it is indeed!
So beautiful, if only drums would pick up after 1min like Nobou orchestrated then this would be absolute perfection. But wow incredible that the National Guard in Sweden enjoys good music :)
The conductor and also the arranger of this piece is Erik Berndalen. Playing is the Home Guard band of Eslöv - Hemvärnets Musikkår Eslöv. www.hvmkeslov.se facebook.com/hvmkeslov
@@dieltolo6112 My favorite is IX bcs it's my first FF game back then but VI is just a better game no doubt best FF ever imo, VII is really good but still IX is overall better imo
I absolutely adore and love FFVI, to me it has always stood better and higher than FFVII. But last year my wife got me FFXVI and that one I also really, really loved. It is greatly inspired by FFVI, with the world descending into chaos and all. But FFVI will forever hold a place in my heart. It even had a opera ffs!
This is the real deal! We (The Home Guard Band of Eslöv) performed "Terra's Theme" at the changing of the guards in Stockholm in 2014 and then again during our trip to Halifax in 2015 - a performance which can also be seen here on RUclips. It's the same arrangement though, I wrote it.

Baba yetu yetu uliye mbinguni yetu amina love that song!!!
Erik Berndalen! Conductor, arranger and my former composition teacher. You're a star!
if you walk past them with your friends, it will be like you're in your own final fantasy adventure, pretty cool.
I am from Sweden, and it was really cool to see this stuff be performed in front of the actual royal palace, haha.
I'm very delighted to see the tune played in such a prestigious occasion. I'm proud of the aforementioned as a Japanese!
FF6 still has one of the best soundtracks in the series
The best
Never forget Terra.
and Harambe

Really nice version of this theme
Jesus Christ... I’m not even that big on FF, but this theme is obviously transcendent. Classic.
I love all forms of terra's nusic and forms i am proud of you discovering this hidden gem of my favs TYVM
The Orchestral Fantasy RUclips channel, if you're not already familiar, is a one-man symphony and his version of Terra's Theme is extraordinary.
Bravo! Listening from Singapore! I like how we are connected space, time, race and beyond.
30年前の日本のビデオゲームが、Stockholmで演奏されてるのに感動します🥹

Rufus theme should be next lol
this is so great
Is this for real? Or did someone just edit the orchestra version to this? The soundbyte is like the same w the other public orchestra vid.

こんなところに日本のPOPカルチャーが・・サブカルと本カルが100年後にはほんとうにひっくりかえってそうだ。。
Can anyone translate this?
Ive seen some seemingly fake ones (eg russian orchestra plays Cruel Angels Thesis) hope this is real cause it rocks.
Nerds rejoice!
スウェーデンは任天堂が強い地域なんだけど、それでもすごいな
wow, white people embracing other cultures..thank god.
