Yeah, I slso "love" how some people tell an entire novel until they get to the point! You can do shopping, walk the dog, cook your dinner and take a bath, while they are doing their intro.
I always use my ripped, broken tights, that I can't wear with dresses and skirts anymore, to layer underneath my trousers in winter. It's perfect to still get a use out of them and they work just as well as new ones!
Best winter hack I know is wearing skin color thermic leggings/tights under your see through black tights (which are cold)!! No one knows and you're extra cozy!!
@@Starrymite I get mine in a store called Bernardete. But I'm from Portugal, I don't know if they have stores in other countries...I'm sure you can find them in classic lingerie stores, tho! 😊
So happy you do “real deal” winter tips because you’re in Toronto. 👍👍 Other fashion peeps make “look cute in winter” videos that just don’t cut it for my Chicago reality. ☺️💋
Potkosulja (undershirt) is life, I don't wear it only when it's 30°plus, otherwise I have it on at ALL times, my non-balkan friends think I'm crazy but joke's on them, they are always ill and I'm not!
Most important hack that changed my life : know when to wear natural fibers or synthetic fibers. Natural fibers keep you very very warm BUT let the moisture evaporate contrary to synthetic fibers. It means that if you know that you will have a little work out and get warm (running to not miss your crowded bus to work for example) dont wear synthetic fibers that will trap your sweat against you skin. The moisture will cool down quicker that your skin and make you feel cold even if you have five layers on. Synthetic are okay on body parts that dont sweat much like ĺegs and belly for example Also, make sur your tights have a little cotton piece at the crotch to avoid yeast infections.
why have i never thought of this?! so many times I've either had to "sacrifice' the look with adding an opaque black tight or chose fashion over comfort and wore the sheer tights despite the frigid temps LOL
I do that too (or kind of, in reverse). To walk outside, it's opaque tights plus sweater tights in winter boots. Nice and warm to be outside, too much with indoor heat at the office all day. I take off my sweater tights the same way my scarf comes off and I slip into heels I keep in my office.
I do this too! First I put some regular tights (20-30 denier) and then thicker and warmer tights or leggings and then my trousers. Layering is extremely important when you are living in cold climate.
This is my first time seeing any of your videos and it’s so refreshing that you got right to the point and didn’t drag along. Also, she seems so nice in person, those little clips of her being goofy genuinely made me feel like we can be friends. Thanks for being a down to earth RUclipsr!
Two pairs of socks is also a great idea! Usually I do a thinner pair underneath, then a thicker pair over. Also hats and scarves are obvious, but really nice way to stay warm and look cool. :) love these tips!
Advice I got from a random shop lady when I moved from a tropical country to a 4 seasons FREEZING COLD PORT CITY: What ever outfit you wear, be sure to keep your head, neck, hands, and feet warm. If they're warm, the rest of you will be too. Awesome video Valeria! You always have awesome content! Lot's of love 😘
This is great advice. I surely feel the difference if I don't wear a scarf and beanie. But also wearing tights/leggings under jeans somehow helps to feel less cold at the top too.
If you want to be stylish and warm in the winter, watch this! To expend on socks and boots, think about it when buying boots. I have one or two pairs of winter boots that are purposefully half a size too large (US size, European size I go up one size) and that I wear with thick socks on the coldest days. Heaven!
when it's really cold i wear two scarves to layer! usually the one on the bottom layer is thin, like the type you'd wear in spring or fall, then the top layer is warmer or a knit scarf. that way you get extra warmth and your scarf is propped up closer to your face to hide in there. :P
I just moved to Canada. Yes, all of these hacks are 100% necessary. A legitimate, real temperature this week was -30 F. I'm just not going outside, but if I have to this weekend I'll be using all of these.
Thanks for the belt hack - the relationship between me and my bathrobe improved right away \o/ (I wear my bathrobe at home the whole winter - it crowns every outfit ;D)
When I want to wear a dress with tights and keep extra warm, I wear a pair of black leggings underneath the tights! So then I have the thicker layers but still get the nice texture of black tights!
These are all wonderful! And I’ve NEVER heard of freezing your tights and mine run CONSTANTLY because I’m so tall the fibers are so stretched. Thank you!
I buy my boots a bit big so I can layer socks and tights or wear thick socks. I also get my pants and a bit large for layering. Slips and slip pants are a great way to add warm and stop clinging. I find that my pits get hotter than my arms so I will wear a short sleeve shirt with leg warmers on my arms under another layer. Also old socks can be used for this by simply cutting off the foot portion. Throwing your clothes in the dryer makes me feel really nice too.
I would add, buy a cool parka with faux fur on the inside! Very warm, has a hood for the freezing wind, good for everyday and doesn’t make you look too bulky. I have two and absolutely love wearing them every time I go out and need a little more warmth ❤️
I used to wear two gloves layered, underneat a fingerless pair of gloves or mittens and a regular pair over them, that way during the freezing winter or Montreal I could take off my gloves to use my phone, pay for things, use the recharging maching at metro stations, etc without freezing my hands in the process. I know there are some glove/mitten merge thing where there is like a cap that you can take off but wearing doble gloves also gives extra warmt
I have discovered the 'two layers of outerwear' this year as heavily pregnant and none of my coats could be buttoned up/zipped anymore 😂 so I put on a long sleeve top, a thin puffer jacket on top and then my oversized wool coat with a scarf - it works wonders and I love the look, will definitely continue wearing this combo after the bump is gone as I like how you can see the two different layers!
I loved this video! Please do more :D Another great hack with static hair, if you're out with your friends and need an "in the moment solution", is to use hand cream. Put a tube in your purse as it is always good to moisturize. Directly when you have moisturized your hands, pull your fingers through your hair. Where you need to remove the static. Always works for me, learned it in beauty school. P.S a little goes a long way.
You always come in when I need it the most! I will be going to Sweden in a couple of weeks and this hacks will save my Mediterranean ass. Love from Barcelona ❤️

Valeria I would love a “ how to start a youtube channel“ with advice and tips! I wanna start one but being consistent seems extremely exhausting! Love you
It's not exhausting, but it's hard work. When RUclips is your job though, creating content constantly is simply normal routine. Valeria creates I think 3 videos per week and runs a very active Instagram profile so she's definitely a true hard worker, but remember that she has a whole team of people who take her pictures, videos, help her vlogging and especially they often edit videos and pictures for her. You can see some of them her vlogs sometimes, which is something I love.
Shoe hack: If you have boots with small heels , you can remove the insole and buy thermal one from lambskin, wool or specially design thermal sole. I use from ecco but I think many other brands have it. Socks hack: wool, silks socks are better in the winter. I will try to avoid the cotton ones, I need my blood circulation going otherwise I will freeze.
Great hacks ! I love how these are actual cold weather hacks... Living in Canada I always roll my eyes at these "winter" hacks where the person suggests a sleeveless blazer or something for "layering" 🤦🏼♀️

You can/should wear whatever you want, but here are some tips if you want mine: High waist, fold the edge of pants, try to find pants that are a bit short at the legs so they will make you look taller? If that’s what you want. Ankle boots with a tiny heel are cute but not scary. Jackets with belts around the waist! I find beanies makes me look younger so i prefer headbands, but a beanie could make you look taller. I also try to avoid bright colors because i’m insecure about people thinking i’m younger than I am. V necks!
Thank you for the tips. I'm going from a very hot country to a cold country, during winter. I need all of the help I can get! I'm saving this vídeo. Thanks 💕

What about cozy, heavy, long mufflers that also covers head instead of a regular warm cap, or use a pretty coloured muffler over a black high neck in a stylish way to make a new style statement.
Be attentive to materials. I bought silk and cashmere second hand, I was never as warm, and as thinly covered. Now I'm looking out for cashmere and silk tight high socks, to keep the cold from creeping under my clothes without adding bulk to the waist
Hack no.10 with the belt , i knew this way many years before, my momma told me when i was struggling with the belts on my coats or jackets, yeah life saving :D
I’m allergic to drier sheets. I never use them nor do I ever use the liquid fleece either and I don’t have static problems. I adjust the humidity levels in the house twice a year, every winter and summer.
