Kinda interesting...in pc shooters that demand more precision (like CS), strafing side-to-side is often a better way to make micro-adjustments to your aim than trying to make a tiny movement with a mouse in a moment of high stress.

Welcome to how controller settings are simply expected to work in any other fps game for the last ten years. Bungie's 23% default unchangeable deadzone is not merely an outlier in the industry, it is an anachronism, like their networking systems.

I've been using it for about 6 months just because I love the paddle design and so far, it's been a great controller. Will have to try this setting out.
If you play the game through steam then you should enable steam config- open controller configuration- go to joysticks and click the right joystick- change the standard dz setting to custom. Change max threshold to 75 for high sticks- enable advanced dz- apply like 500 anti dead zone
And u should def try the DualSense roller I’d recommend just playin double claw and shooting with right bumper makes right hand claw more comfortable or if you NEED the paddles then get the edge and use optimal bindings

I used various Nacon controllers throughout the years and they’re pretty great overall. Glad you found them useful as well.
watching the gameplay i would have just assumed you were getting more comfortable at a higher sensitivity while using the sticks, reticle tracking seemed very smooth. But your example of keeping reticle movement fluid while strafing in and out of cover really put into perspective how much more responsive having less deadzone can achieve
If you want some really goofy extreme examples, look up Console Hunt: Showdown gameplay from last year or in general before the deadzone rework. It had such aggressive deadzones for controller that it had massive functional input delay, and the gameplay looked even at high levels like ancient 360-era COD gameplay of children learning an FPS. The rework helped a little bit (but way overtuned aim assist to be bonkers, so big pro and big con).

To be honest, his sniper shots are like a .8 kd... so it is not helping him in the aiming. Definitely using something that aims for him

Btw if you bind roller to have both the dodge button and the heavy weapon button to the same button whilst having the sword equipped… you get access to much faster and I’d say up to a 540° dodge on max sense
You can also just pull the sword out and dodge normally m for it to work
I’ve been using a Sony Edge controller on PS5 for a year now. I use the Digital -2 aim response curve on the right stick. It’s definitely improved my aim and gameplay in D2 compared to the default aim response curve we get in Destiny.
Definitely a small difference… which is huge. I already have this controller but was using it for Fighters, going to try that suggestion on the response curve.

Curious on what you think of a controller like the flydigi apex 4. Its a more premium option than the nacon in the vid but might also be an option for you
I’ve had a Nacon controller for the past 5 years and I didn’t know this existed😂… night and day difference when playing destiny. I could never get used to the weird controls on destiny for controller.
Looks like something between controller and mouse/keyboard gameplay.
If you're willing to try out more, you could go with the 8bitdo pro 2. It has 2 paddles on the back (instead of 2 you usually like) but the shape and feel of it is very nice, and it's rather adjustable too.
These controller reviews have been great. How are the back buttons on this? Because it looks quite awkward to use the bottom two since they’re so low.

I have a really old power A controller that’s over 6 years old and still works fine. My model is not programmable but I couldn’t be happier with how long it has lasted me compared to the elite 2. I also really enjoy how easy it is to take apart if something breaks (has a magnetic face cover that can be easily removed). I am curious how the newest model performs.
I have given up on using the MS Elite controllers, after having constant bumper issues on v1, and stick drift on multiple v2.
I have tried a few different ones, and none have hit all of the checkboxes yet. Some come close. The ones that I fell best with the sticks, only have 2 reverse buttons. I need all 4, so they arent really options for D2, but can be used for other games that I dont use reverse buttons.
I am currently using the Victrix Gambit, which I think is ok. I can set the deadzones in app, but no exponential adjustment that I have noticed. The sticks arent as good as the GameSir. They dont use hall sensors, but the pots are easily accessible to clean and lube with contact cleaner, which keeps them performing pretty well and reduces wear. So, I think its a good solution for now.
The rear buttons are not as ergonomic as the Elite are... but are close enough that I dont really have issue using them. I use jump/crough on the right side rear buttons, and melee/grenade on the rear right. That is due to constant bumper breaking on the v1 Elite, that I had to map them to the rear buttons. Ideally, I would want reload and swap weapon on the left side, but my old brain cant adjust to that change.
Interesting. Have had two elite controllers v1 and v2 have about 12k hrs between the two on just destiny alone. They’ve held up well. My biggest issue with every controller prior was a me issue. I couldn’t figure out why all my controllers would eventually look like my character was about to reload for a moment upon sprinting forward. Finally realized that while I’m not hard on my controllers I am subconsciously doing something that would wear the stick enough to cause it to think I was clicking it even though I wasn’t when pushed forward. Eventually decided on an elite moved the stick clicks to paddles and never had that issue or stick drift since. I use the two right paddles together for grenade and each bumper for melee and powered melee. Then also use single paddles for jump, sprint, slide. My elite V2 is finally showing wear on the rubber starting to come free at the seams. Will be buying a second one soon. Can’t really complain on them.
Definitely looks way better just letting you know i use Ds4 and if your cool with a PlayStation controller you can get rid of the dead zone through there as well idk if you're playing on your PC tho but if you are its great you can set it to zero or if you have a slight drift you can set it to the specific number of the drift

i hope this gets enough attention to eventually have both better deadzone settings and as a result a massive aim assist nerf (for controller and m&k). I genuinely stopped playing destiny 2 because every gunfight is decided by a perfect ttk and flinch, or a special weapon. i just want to truely outgun my opponent rather than win the flinch war
I also want mnk aim assist nerf too not far how they get 20% more magnetism
I know Ds4 allows to set the deadzone for any console controller as well, maybe try this change there unless this is like changing the software on the controller itself, it should work the same for any controller using DS4

It feels like your aim is definitely snappier, usually your controller gameplay looks like "yeah, this is controller". But this time it almost felts like a mix of both, which is I guess is a good thing.
I’ve used stock on both Xbox and PS5 quite a bit and the Xbox clearly has horrible dead zones. If you’ve been using Xbox controller on PV and have a dead zone problem I’d recommend PS5 controller before getting anything fancy

the thing would break easily (never had to replace a geniun PS4 controller), I've had it replaced once, later on I bought a 3rd when it broke since the seller found a loophole and refused to replace it, and I had replaced still 4th time. I then decided to swap to razer raiju.
I had the same experience with my nacon. Loved the controller, but it didn't last long. The standard ps5 controller doesn't last long either though, not like the ps4 ones. I just got the new ps5 pro one so I can swap out the stick module when it breaks.

You can literally do this on elite controller, just go to settings and put both analogs to instant, and it basically feels like M&Kb

TLDR: is this controller better than the Xbox Elite Series 2 Controller?
I am a through and through MMK player. I used to play Xbox way back in Destiny 1, but ever since the release of D2, I have been on MMK and haven't touched console since. I bought an Xbox Elite Series 2 controller about a year ago specifically for For Honor, a fighting game that I just enjoy the classic controller gameplay for. That being said, having a $175 controller that I rarely use is disappointing and I want to start trying it out in Destiny and getting practice since some builds are better on controller. Is this controller better than the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller or are they fairly similar? If I'm going to start practicing on controller, I'd rather not switch my controller down the line and just stick with one if possible so that's why I'm curious.
I noticed there are huge dead zones on Xbox series x on the regular controller and the elite 2 controller. I also have a PS5 and I do much better in PvP with the PS5 controller. It seems to have relatively no dead zone, and feels snappier.
Is there a solution for deadzones on PS5? (Also I kinda need 4 paddles)

personally, I'm in love with the deadzones on the Hyperkin Xenon controller. My sniping is way better on it for some reason

Yes if you use smg snipe bcs reticle friction and adhesion is really strong but if u play hc use mnk
Maybe this stick deadzone is exactly the thing I hated about playing D1 on console. I have been a pc gamer since 2004, and being relegated to playing that great game with a controller was painful.

I think all you had to do with any other controller was to just over clock it to have a 1 millisecond delay
it almost looks like low sensitivity mnk gameplay, if it weren't for the slow 180 turns it would almost fool me. it looks great!
On elite series 2 switch the calculation from radial to independent axis if possible comment on this change.

@@jordanfan8222 most games use independent axis, elite series 1 was independent axis by default and my aim was great with elite series I struggled for the past 4 years untill I notice this when messing with an old elite series controller,, series 2 came with radial calculations by default.

Have always just used the default remote that came with my Xbox one and played claw. Any controller recommendations anyone has for me? I play games like destiny and dark souls. Have wanted to invest in a remote with paddles but have been too afraid to spend $130 on a remote just for the paddles to be ass
I’ve used a few controllers with paddles etc some with multifunctional bumpers, currently using the Scuff Instinct Pro (A refurbished one is £150 ≈ $170) does the job well and has 4 buttons rather than paddles if you’re willing to spend that, I’d also Razer wolverine tournament for about $120 on average where it still performs really well
most xbox controller can have the deadzone changes in the advanced settings, I wish they were compatible with a ps5.
And think, this is just software. Xbox could add this to their software settings for any of their controllers this week.

Dead zones change so much on controller. Having anything that assists in that makes Destiny 10x less of a pain in the ass on controller.

Yes, he is talking about the strafing aim. Everything else is the same..
If you are not so good with controller strafing, it isn't ideally a good thing to do because you need to pass over the dead zone.. but if you fast enough quick player it barely makes a difference
It doesn't have the same deadzone features on the elite... on the nacon you can change the starting percentage and can't on the elite. I bought an elite thinking I could and it's been sitting in my drawer the last 2 years

you can adjust your elite 2 sticks independently in the xbox settings and save them as a profile. They have custom curves and you can tweak them as well.

Overflow perk. Picking up special ammo auto refills the mag
Dualsense edge can sort of workaround destiny's terrible deadzones with the custom response curve settings also

My controllers disconnect from D2 all the time. But it’s only D2, every other game I never have any issues. I’m on series X, have replaced my controller multiple times, upgraded to an elite thinking it would help, updated the firmware, tried my wife’s Xbox. Nothing fixes the issue and no one seems to talk about it. Anyone have any advice? I’ve scoured Reddit but the few people having the same issue found no solution :/

Is the wifi box or anything like that near it? It caused an issue with a headset of mine a while back, would disconnect all the time because of it somehow

Nacon diagonals are the reason i've switched back to scuf/dualsense after 2 years and 2 versions of nacon revolution pro controllers.
An interesting thought I had about this is at what point would something like this be deemed "cheating"? Obviously we can all agree that spending money to buy an external device or software like Xim/Cronus that skirts a game mechanic like recoil is too far, but you could argue that destiny's dead zones are annoying but fair - everyone on controller has to deal with the same perceived issue, the dead zones are annoying but so is high recoil. For people willing to spend the money on this controller and use their software, suddenly you have an advantage that 99% of controller players don't and if it makes as large of a difference as Cammy feels like it does, at least based off this session, is that also an issue?
To be clear - I DON'T think this is cheating, this argument could also totally be made for controllers with paddles which I would argue makes a much larger difference to gameplay and most people are fine with that, I use an elite controller myself.
Know you’re primarily looking for console friendly solutions but trust me it makes controller feel so much more viable in high level crucible play on pc especially with the dualsense being able to overclock to 8000hz polling rate on windows 11
I think i finally realised why i suck so much on controller. Due to a lack of understanding on what deadzones are, my aim on controller is attrocios, constanly wiggling back and forth without being able to zero in on the target.

@@fotis3v480 id argue that's not really the case in destiny, both inputs have pros and cons and suit certain playstyles better. There's a reason you'll see lots of top teams have a mix of controller and m&k players.
I have to play KbM on destiny because I've been playing controller on cod for 15 years and I can't make the adjustment to the deadzones on D2. Mind you I had world records on cod.

No they don't. I bought an xbox elite hoping to do the same thing and you simply can't change the starting percentage on it... it's been in my drawer the last 2 years
@@IAmMajician elite 2 and wolverine chroma can, sorry but u missed on it. U simply can reduce dead zone to 0. After a while u gonna get stick drift which will force u to enlarge Ur dead zone but still that is a problem with all controllers that is why I went to mnk
