Were you thinking molé for the Mexican chocolate notes?

i grabbed a C for safekeeping, I bought a ton of bottles that are older than my kid and maybe one day he will like bourbon and will have a hell of a wedding present of bourbons older than him. Getting hard now that hes over 12 lol

I thought A was the best release since 2020. B is disappointing. And C is a monster that could be one of the best of all time.

Have B & C. B is too hot so we put in Manhattan or Boulevardier and it’s great. C is in my vault to be savored.

I blinded mine and had these results, B, C, A

I don't understand how Kirby Smart has time to do a bourbon youtube channel.

For me batch C barely edges out A. Batch B tastes like a flatter version of A. As someone else commented, blending A and B 1:1 is very good…I consider it my batch D.

Have two bottles of B and passed on C at a bourbon drop. Now I can't find it. EC drives me crazy....

I’d love to see the c93 against some of the old pirate bottle

C923 is great, but I thought A123 was pretty close.

The releases this year were very interesting. In comparison to the last couple of years where everything was pretty consistent, Heaven Hill released the on brand A123, which sort of keeps the consistency from the past couple of years; B523, which is the worst ECBP they've had so far; followed by C923, which is probably the best release since at least 2018, if not back to the pirate bottles. Honestly, I'm happy to see them shake things up like this.

ECBP is my favorite bc it checks all the boxes. Allocated yet findable, affordable, best value in bourbon, each release is slightly different to keep it interesting, and ranges from good to great.

In a blind with three opened bottles, I will always bet on the one with the least amount of whiskey remaining.

I have all three but haven't blinded them together yet. I've thrown C923 in against some other bottles (Stagg, Bookers, and some store pick) and it took the flight. It's good, hasn't sold me on being a whiskey of the year contender. It might be like somewhere in the 10-15th best bottle of the year range and I don't have any unicorn bottles. It's good, it's got proof, but it's not complex. It's basically just a good example of Heaven Hill bourbon - nutty, caramel, and oak with minimal sweetness. It really doesn't have any of the jam or fruit notes you expect from a whiskey of the year. I call Beam and Heaven Hill bourbons "brown". All the flavor notes are brown colored things. Compare that to stuff coming out of Buffalo Trace where the nuts and caramel get replaced with red fruit, grapes, and honey. Neither is what I consider complex - I want BOTH in my whiskey at different parts of the drinking experience. A good nutty whiskey that finishes with sweetness or a sweet whiskey that turns savory oak on the finish.

Definitely C was first, B was second and A was third for me. I thought they were all really good. B to me was an easier sip than A, C was by far the best. Cheers

A and C are neck and neck for me and it’s even better blended

Blinded all of them two weeks ago, got the same results. Mixed A and B and it tasted like chocolate covered raspberries on the palate.

A is the best imo having all 3
