I'm not a skateboarder but still found this super interesting. This is essentially the Damascus steel of skateboarding. Instead of layering different metals, heat, folding them and pounding them out. You're layering different skate boards, bonding them with pressure and glue (and maybe heat). Making beautiful designs out of strong material.
I was disappointed it was a shelf. I thought it was going to be the new plate on your hawk. Ben Signature series replacement trowel handles made from old boards on the drawing board yet?
What is the difference between "up-cycled" and Re-Cycled" seems like the same thing to me. Using an old materials in a new product. Just wondering if there is a difference?
Not really sure. I think it’s because in his case he is using materials that were unsuitable for sale so it would have been trash where as something that is re-cycled has already performed it’s function and is being downgraded.
I need to be reassured no international laws were violated here.. The " two professors " together in the same shop, let alone state/country.. With all that flammable material, and no supervision.. What's really going on ! 😳
Crazy. I was buying this guys stuff back in the mid-80s, and here he is still doing his thing. This is so cool, Ben. Thanks for this.

This multi-colored pattern is beautiful. This is a win-win in every way. 😎

Why does he use Starbond glue for this volume of work? It is a very expensive way gluing it. Can’t he use Titebond instead?
The obvious question, why hasn't he made new glasses frames out of those stripes
Ben you should have him make you a drywall tool and knife box
Woby Design's crazy uncle xD
RIP RIP Grasso

I have heard anyone use the term "rad" in decades.
