He wasn't able to remember 1,000 Isaac items in a decade, but you think he could do Pi in a day?!
Bro can memorize the entire cast and crew of every movie after one watch but can't memorize 10 different numbers in a specific order.
@@TheToffen +2😂
@@TheToffen I can't even remember my credit card number in a specific order.
@@TheUltimateShade667 I mean, to be fair, you also probably can't memorise the entire cast and crew of every movie
There is 0 chance any of the streamers she called out even try it lmao
everyone knows the only name in the whole list that had any slight chance of piquing interest was NL.
Squeex can do it, he just needs a whole lot of customized mugs

4:15 "Have I ever experienced 312,917?" time for the Librarian to go find the exact moment he achieved that Balatro score or something
unfortunately the most likely factorization of 312917 is 11x28447 which means its a very difficult score to get in balatro
@@plan3teris That assumes there's not multiple hands being played
@@BillyGoatBaaaa28447 is a prime number, meaning you can't get it by multiplying any numbers besides 1 and itself. Most balatro scores are (sum of cards) x (flat mult x mult multiplier) meaning all the scores that aren't a lv1 high card are n+(a composite number)
You only need to memorize 1 number. That number is 1000 digits long though
that's very true
true, true, that's pretty true
i mean once youve seen one number u kinda have seen them all
Unary gigachad
That challenge seems way to high effort for anyone to take her up on it.
Definitely no Name 100 people "challenge".
Way too much time and effort for an already-successful streamer to bother unless it's something they're passionate about.
Why put yourself through that when you can do something you actually enjoy and make just as much easy money, like playing Balatro and bantering about random shit such as streamer challenges
Some education and speedrun streamers might take that kind of challange. NL was never biting. He is on a dad schedule so he isn't doing 11 hours even if he thought he could do it.
The thing with the 100 woman challenge is it’s a really funny concept. It’s also just something that will take less than an hour.
It's actually funny that he mentions his ability to remember stories, because that's exactly how Emily approached this challenge. She used a memorization system to encode each digit as a letter, each pair of encoded letters to a word (or 3 words), and then 3 pairs of letters into a simple person, action, object phrase. Which was then used to construct a story which she memorized.
so instead of memorizing each of the 1000 digits, the task gets converted into building a story of 167 phrases and memorizing that.
For example, you might encode digits like 1=A, 2=B, 3=C, 5=S, 8=H. Then to memorize a group of 6 digits like 835212, it would convert to HC SB AB. So the phrase you might remember is something like "Hillary Clinton did the Soulja Boy while using an ABacus." And then weave that into a story somehow.
I think NL could create a great story and be super good at this challenge.
Oh, so another Answer in Progress viewer. I was there to watch Sabrina recite Pi live. That was a fun afternoon.
He could be good at it, but it would consume many hours of valuable pogs. Pogs we could never get back.
the encoding scheme is clever but it still sounds like way too much time to invest in something that people largely aren't interested in.
@@WeAretheWalrii maybe. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion. I still think it would be interesting :)

I love how NL isn't typically in these streamer circles like all the others that are named when these challenges pop up, yet he's always mentioned lol. NL is extremely isolated compared to other large streamers so it's always weird to see him mentioned in the midst of it all, like even though he's part of Twitch too he feels like a completely different ecosystem.
Yeah it’s always indirect interactions with NL and other streamers through clips. Ofc he does play with Ludwig from time to time.
He’s the streamers streamer. He doesn’t get in their way or cause drama. Many even comment on if they do watch anyone it’s NL bc it’s so different.
I couldn't even handle 1 pie, let alone 1000.

to be honest I know all the pokemon, and there are 1025 of them... but recalling them in order without mistakes is the difficult part. huge congrats to emily
Yeah I know the first thousand digits of pi (0, 1 2, 3 the list goes on)
i could name all of them if you gave me time, but in order is ACTUALLY possible...
I think I could sooner memorize all the pokémon (the only game I've played is Shield so my dex knowledge is low) than the first 1000 digits of pi. I think it would be easier to memorize 1000 unique items than 10 unique items iterated ~100 times in a random order. Like it's very easy to know that Venusaur comes after Ivysaur which comes after Bulbasaur. But what comes after the 15th instance of 9 in pi? You have no context clues to help guide you, it's just straight rote memorization. Even if you encode the information into a story or smth, you could just as easily do that with the pokémon
This is a *perfect* comparison! I worry sometimes that generic appreciation for high school math teachers has turned “pi”/“pi goes on forever” into a much bigger deal than it needs to be.
There is nothing special about the digits of pi. They only look like that as a quirk of our number system, and if we used a different number system (hexadecimal, binary, etc.) pi would appear as just a different set of random numbers.
If people (and maths educators in particular) really want to show some appreciation for 3.14etc., take maybe an hour out of your day and learn about the history of how Isaac Newton revolutionized our ability to calculate pi. The wikipedia page is good, Veritasium has a video about it, there’s been good blog posts, it’s a fascinating piece of history. The man has many flaws, but finding someone with the genius of Isaac Newton really seems to be a “Once in a Generation” kind of event - the dude revolutionized like 6 different STEM fields in his 84 years of life.
I'd have challenged people to 100. It feels like it'd get people in the door
4:20 Shoutout to Snapcube, crossover of the century
Lol! So random. I enjoy her stuff :o
I'm not saying learning 1000 pi digits is worse than wasting time buuuut... I can hardly find more meaningless and yet laborious thing to do

I always POG when another streamer mentions NL
If NL won't try it I know my boy Chiblee might give it the old college try
NL being added into the streamer cabal 👏 we love to see it
waiting patiently for librarian to dig up an instance where nl experienced the number 312,917
My problem wouldn't be learning them, it'd be forgetting them. I'd endlessly be repeating that shit in my head every time I saw a set of numbers.
When he kept talking about "the bird course" all I could think about is those fancy restaurants that give you a tiny little roasted bird as course 7 of 12.
love the guy at the end commenting "have you ever experienced -2"
In order the memorize Pi you only have to remember 1 number. Just a large one
I do love starting my mornings with a bit of existential mathematic philosophy. Good times.
The least enticing challenge of all-time.
He should bake 1000 pies for us viewers instead

im genuinely freaking out right now trying to think if ive experienced 31,322
when he was talking about memorizing numbers, we really only need to memorize 0-9. everything after that, our brain just uses patterns and association.
Thats exactly what emily did to remember the digits. turned words into numbers and made a story.
This channel is the nl bible and i shall raise my children off of these
i thought it was an old rule that you get to challenge one person after a challenge not like twenty
I feel like people would have done it, but she set the number way too high. 11hours and 1000digits is insanity. She should have started with 10minutes
Gonna need to get Avast to try the challenge
I literally heard the number 31322 today, what are even the odds
For anyone curious, it wasn't fake. If you watch the stream, it can't be. She shined a flashlight through the blindfold, she had her head in all sorts of different positions, she even did 200 numbers the next day with her head facedown in a chair (could have done the whole thing if she wanted).
Also she was reciting the story during the runs at the correct times, so you can actually go back into her notes and verify everything. It's all there, chat helped her create the system for the Dominic method she used, and she did all that on steam too.
Oh, also there were many times where she would recite huge chunks of the story itself, later scrolling to reveal (in her notes) that she did in fact say everything in order.
A popular memory champ guy on RUclips was very impressed and thought it was awesome (he can blast out 1,000 numbers in sub 10 minutes or about 6 when he's locked in on a good day, but it's all relative).
She also had incredible memory as a kid, with memory card games where her parents literally couldn't beat her (her father mentioned that).
She's just good.
Let's only challenge popular streamers!
Let's say you and I go toe to toe on bird math, and see who comes out the victor.
It’s funny that he independently came up with the actual strategy she used
He should memorize 1000 different types of 🥧 Pies instead. Apple pie, Pot Pie…

i cant name 1000 pokemon after playing it my whole life
Maybe we can get NL to memorise her spreadsheet?
He really is not numbermaxxing
She asked pie numbers because remember Binding of Isaac items wouldn't be even a challenge...
It's actually easier to remember them as a poem of sorts, try to rhyme the numbers in your head. At least it works better for me. I think I still remember like 60-80 digits of pi from learning it in high school... you know, as normal kids do.
No disrespect to extraemily. We all like to watch a streamer struggle, but man that seems like a boring way to do it
That's my take tbh. There's no fun in attempting it, AND there's no fun in watching it. That makes it a poor challenge. However, she's got an idea in there somewhere.
Except it was an extremely well viewed stream and has got great engagement, precisely because the process was collaborative and engaging by design. I do agree that most streamers wouldn't do it, let alone entertainingly. But the proof is there that it certainly isn't impossible.
Yo 1000? And you started the challenge to set the bar? This is like asking streamers to dunk a basketball but the rim is a meter higher. I could train for years and never come close to that.
She was clearly challenging NormalLion 0:35
You dont get to callout like 15 people...
did this guy just call himself an, "Alphabatized Word-cel?" lmfao
My initial thought is that's such a waste of time, but they are streamers so I guess nothing was lost.

how the fuck is a 53 a pass, I wanna transfer to a canadian university
Most EU/Commonwealth tertiary grading scales have 50 as a pass. Off the top of my head I think India, US, S.Korea and Japan use the 59/60 mark, and I'm only remembering the larger countries.
The way tests are done is quite different place to place
@@ElSuperNova23 I feel scammed. Here in Brazil the baseline is 60, but some universities run with 70.
@@NayaM0 yeah but you can't assume the level of difficulty is the same worldwide. a 70 in brazil might be the same as a 50 in some EU schools, and it might be a 90 in some US schools, y'know
Every university has a pass/fail target based on their funding structure and professors are heavily discouraged to stray from it. It has nothing to do with the grades themselves, really.
1000 digits of pi is super useless anyways. Memorize every country on earth or all the names of people presidents have had affairs with or something that at least can get you a blowie at a party.
