  • How to crochet a hanging basket? In this crochet tutorial, I show you how to crochet a hanging basket that is perfect for a door or wall. This basket is a loose, netted pattern that shouldn’t take more than 30 minutes to complete. Over time, it might stretch, but it is perfect for storing scarves, socks, fabric, yarn, etc. I use mine when I am crocheting to hold my yarn ball, especially if I am crocheting with more than one yarn ball at a time. I string the yarn through one of the loops in the front and that prevents it from being pulled out of the opening.
    This crochet hanging basket free pattern is part of my two-skein Mothers' Day challenge to see how many DIY gifts I can make with only two skeins of yarn. For this challenge, I am using a variegated yarn that is 196 yards and a solid colored yarn that is 252 yards. I'm using cotton yarn .. do you think using two strands will help with stretching or will two strands make it too bulky?

    • @CrochetWithJulie
      @CrochetWithJulie  2 года назад +1

      It will definitely help with the stretching! I made some smaller baskets with three strands and they work great! I’ve never made this with two strands, but I think it would turn out great.

    How much yarn did you use ? Skins have different yardage so I guess it depends on what yarn you use but I was wondering if you can tell us the yardage

    Can I do more than 10 to 15 rows or will it look bad

    • @CrochetWithJulie
      @CrochetWithJulie  5 месяцев назад +3

      I don’t think it will look bad, but it might stretch too much if the stuff you are putting in it is heavier. I can make a larger tutorial for you using a slightly different method.

    • @CrochetWithJulie
      @CrochetWithJulie  5 месяцев назад +3

      @@mvtytv345 I have started on it! But it does involve working with two strands at once. I think that will help it stay sturdy with a larger size. Will that work for you? If your yarn is smaller (like a size 3 yarn), you might want to work with three strands at once.

    • @mvtytv345

    What was the yardage of yarn that you used could you tell us that

    • @CrochetWithJulie
      @CrochetWithJulie  2 года назад +1

      That is an excellent question. Very rough estimate would be around 126 yds. I did this as a "skein challenge," so I tried to use up two skeins of yarn entirely. The specifics and different projects for the skein challenge can be found here: ruclips.net/p/PLUmcifMqZH5urx5y2wcmj6vqAhXHh4Vy3
