Just got into our first house. Figured to save money on decor, I’d just make things so I found this video. I love this basket ! I’m going to make some in various sizes for fruit, plants, and anything I can put in there ! Thanks ❤
These are beautiful, I've never used t-shirt yarn. I will use it for this and I'm sure my daughter will love it.❤ Thank you for sharing your talent. I just shared this video on pinterest, I hope that helps your channel.❤ I also just subscribed.❤
Hi Julia, thank you so much for your awesome videos and patterns. Your channel is my favourite for crochet tutorials. Your videos are so clear and easy to follow, and filmed well showing all angles of the stitches. Thank you! I made this basket with the exact same number of stitches as you, but I made some revisions. To wrap the handle at the end, I didn’t want to have to thread the yarn back under the last few stitches, so I offset the placement of the 3-in-1 increase. This way, the handle is made at the beginning of the row, and the last row is finished with slip stitches all the way around. Then just cut the yarn, and wrap the base of the handle. Row 9: KS (“knit stitch”) 3, 3-in-1 increase, KS to end. Join. Row 10: KS 3, 3-in-1 increase, KS 13, dec 6, KS 9. Join. … Row 13: Sl St 1, make handle, Sl St around edge.
I just made a basket like this without a pattern, which is actually very similar. However, I was not joining each round, and just stitching in the round, in a spiral, which is how I've always done circles. It was making my finished bag twist. I will definitely be trying out your method of joining to help with this! It looks so nice and straight. Thanks!
I’ve just made my first basket! Thank you so much for this tutorial video, it’s so very well done and explained. I love how you show things and explain why you do them. Brilliant. ☺️
I just watched this again this is wonderful I am trying to make little nests cozy baskets for baby squirrels I think with the right yarn this will be perfect Thank you 🤗🐿
beautiful tutorial thanks 🙏🏼 this t-shirt yarn is quite a work out 😅 power crochet anyone?? i also couldn’t close the circle in the start so ended up with a hole so maybe wrong size hook or tension?
Beautiful ❤ very nice and informative video, well explained and easy to follow. I shall definitely make this beautiful basket. Do you have written pattern for other sizes? Which brand T shirt yarn did you use and where from you bought because the t shirt yarn which I have not like this, mine are very stretchy which I don't like.
Love your tutorials!! Made two of them now, but they don’t get the same tear drop shape, after the decrease they are not round anymore, do you have any tips or suggestions? 😊😊😊
You can regulate the size of the basket by making a bigger or a smaller circle base in the beginning. You can also add rows in the walls of the basket.
I’m enjoying your videos! Question: how do you keep the tee shirt yarn from twisting? I am a beginner and am using “hooked” brand tee shirt yarn. But it twists so much that I am not enjoying my project. I just started a new spool and this time I pulled out from the center in a chunk, unknotted it and beginning again. Any tips are appreciated! Looking forward to more of your videos.
@@CrochetwithJulia yes. I just took a few minutes to straighten out 3 yards, took a dc stitch and it’s twisted again! I’m wondering if I’m holding yarn wrong or wrapping my hook wrong.
@@donnababylon well, I actually don't pay much attention to it, I don't usually straighten it. Just crochet they way it is. But yeah, if to straighten the yarn, the result will be even more perfect. And also for some certain patterns it's necessary to straighten the yarn. But it will twist anyway, you can't do anything about it. You have to straighten it every time before making every next stitch. You don't have to do it along all the yarn at once, just when you crochet each next stitch, be sure to keep the yarn straight at that place. You will have to adjust it with your hands every time.
@@CrochetwithJulia thank you for your advice. I just completed my project. I just continued to crochet even if it was twisted and all of a sudden it straightenrd out! There are a few rough looking stitches but I can’t find them without really searching. Thanks so much again for your help!
Unfortunately I don't know the exact amount. But the bigger one (pink one) took less than 1 bobbin and 1 bobbin I use is around 100 meters. So maybe the pink basket took around 70-80 meters
You can find all the information about the yarn I use in the descriptions to my latest videos, also in the Community section on my channel and on my Instagram

It depends on the quality of T-shirt yarn too. One day I bought some yarn, it was cheaper than the one I usually use, and it had so bad quality, it was really hard to crochet with it. That was the first and the last time I used it. Or maybe your hands are just not used to it. When first I started to crochet a lot, I even had some problems with my hand so I took medicine and couldn't crochet for 1 month. It's important to give a rest to your hands
I made it. Everyone likes it. Thank you.
I have made my first hanging basket !!! I love your videos. Thanks a lot!!😊

Thank you.

Great work, is it allowed for us to knit and sell it. If not, I would respect that for sure. Thank you
You did such a good job 👍 Can you show how to do bigger basket can fit the six inch nursery plant pot? Thanks

This is such a darling basket Julia. About how long does it take you to crochet this?

At what moment exactly does it twist?

Thank you Julia! Amazing video. You are very talented. May I ask what brand of yarn you use? Thanks.
Thank you! ♥
It's Barwa
Never seen this done before, how you close your stitch
Plz share how to unravel the pattern if required
Such a pretty basket! I can't wait to make one and I'm about to buy the yarn! Do you know how many meters of yarn you used for each basket?

If i want to make big one for towels in the bathroom how many t.shirt yarn i want 2 ball or more plz can u help me 😍
Depends of course on the size of the basket you wanna get and what the towels you wanna put in it. But I think 2 will be enough
Hello, what other yarn suggestions for this? It's hard to find tshirt yarn. Thank you
You can use for example a polyester cord or raffia
I used “Bernat Maker Home Dec (Bulky 5)” , double stranded with J-hook (6.0mm)
How many grams did you consume of yarn for this?
What’s the diameter of the finished basket?
Do you have a link for your yarn that you use in this tutorial?
You can find all the information about the yarn I use in the descriptions to my latest videos, also in the Community section on my channel and on my Instagram
Ek soek n gehekelde peg sakkie patroon asb.

You didn’t show how to make the circle

But she posted a video how to crochet a circle
Is it just me or is tshirt yarn so annoying and difficult to crochet with. End up with RSI soon 😅😭
