After analog drift is just the thing now for new controllers (profit) I see using mouse and keyboard as the only option. I’ve had 3 controllers brand new and this year it has all ready seen drift on all 3 of them.

However due to the high cost of upgrading to a decent gaming PC, I decided to get an xbox series S instead and so far have a really hard time adjusting to the controller. Hello man! Good question. In order to play most of the game mods you have to enable crossplay, that means you will end up to play with every type of input set ups. Included PC players, other XBOX users that use keyboard and mouse set up and of course controller users.
If Escape doesn't work, you will need a controller man. Many games have a partial support that means that some times you will need a controller to go through their menus or to exit from the game.
If you go to settings on the XBOX then to device and connections you will see mouse settings there. I have it on 5 now. Otherwise you can put it on a PC and then check if it keeps the same sensitivity.

So I think that is a cool option being able to connect mouse and keyboard to the xbox. On the other hand, I understand why not all games support this feature. The thing is: If you play fortnite with a controler you will never ever be able to build as fast as with mouse and keyboard. With a controller you will always have a bite of a disadvantage in comparison to players playing with mouse and keyboard. On the other hand, I assume that it would be possible that the games let you only play with PC gamers. That would be a much better solution since I don't see why I should have a disadvantage if I want to chill with my controller on the couch instead of using mouse and keyboard which are not really good to use on a couch.

I have a reoccurring right thumb injury, so i need to switch to mouse and keyboard on xbox x. My question is what button do you use to shoot on the mouse? Will i still be using my right thumb to hit a button on the side of the mouse to fire my weapon?
I hope it can pass quick. 🙏 You have never played with a mouse? 😃 It's the left click that shoots and the right click that aim. 🙂 On the side not every mouse have buttons and it's optional if you want to configure them for something.

I have the exact same keyboard and mouse as you and i plugged it into my xbox series s but sadly my mouse is not working. The lights are on but when i move my mouse my screen doesnt change in game
I wonder why they wouldn't let the mouse work in the main os menu? Id figure since they created windows they should have the coding available to be able to run and actual mouse cursor on the menu? I think these new consoles limit themselves too much when they have the same power as a decent mid range gaming pc. Does the xbox console have a built in web browser? Does the mouse and keyboard work with it?
Developers of each game decide if they want this support on consoles or not....many believe consoles is to play with controller only. And they think adding keyboard and mouse could hurt the game and the balance.
The xbox has a normal USB ports. I think they called Type A. The ones all laptops and PC has. But you can have a USB A to USB C cable to connect your XBOX controller for example. The new controllers has a USB type C port. What exactly you want to connect?
I think if you have the keyboard and mouse connected all the time, it would work with enter or other key. Just at first until it recognize it, it might need the controller.

Yes with wireless keyboard and mouse you could do that but i don't know how comfy it is. When i want to sit on the sofa i usually prefer the controller.

I haven't tried Razer Turret. But any keyboard and mouse will do. If it says that it's compatible even better. With fps games definitely it's better with keyboard and mouse but specific for Gears of War o think I still prefer to play it with the controller because of the better movement. Also I noticed that playing on a TV sometimes the mouse it's not so accurate, so if you have any problem like that try to play on monitor.
I'm curious as to how robust the key/button remapping is in these games for KBM. I'm assuming you can remap all the standard keyboard keys, but what about extra buttons on a gaming mouse? I would guess I couldn't because obviously there's no third party drivers on the Xbox but some devices register as generic button presses without their drivers on a PC. Would a mouse like that require the game to support simultaneous KBM and controller input?
Great question man! I just checked FORTNITE to confirm it and you can normally assign the extra buttons on a gaming mouse. I think it mostly depends on the game. I ll check Warzone right now and if you have other game that you want to play let me know maybe i can check it.

Came here searching for the keyboard key that is the A key on the controller. It seems you have to have the controller still plugged in to play games? :( I left my controller out of town :(
The A key should be the Space bar on the Keyboard. Some games that are not fully supported need the controller as well. Which games are you planning to play?
So much easier to use a benq mouse ie fk series ect,you can change dpi on the bottom of the mouse 400dpi 800dpi ect even refresh rate 500hz to 1000hz without messing around with pointer speed, i personaly put pointer speed to lowest in the settings as this reduces input lag and set mouse to 800dpi perfect and smooth

@@LiakourasMomentz PS5 controller definitely superior. Fits much better in my hands naturally and also has haptic feedback and a mic for voice commands which Xbox doesn’t. Ps5 SSD is also nearly twice as fast. Has a much better unique game selection (personal opinion). Performance wise the Xbox gpu is a little faster but not by much at all You can also actually play ps5 games right off your external hdd which you can’t on Xbox. Series X/S games have to be moved to internal storage in order to play All that being said I do like the Xbox and am getting more used to the controller but I just love the ps5 and think it’s much more worth it if o had to pick one

So you definitely have to spend more 200$ for the expansion card if you want to install more new X/S made games. The series X you got or the new black series S are at least better on that. And i didn't know that you can play on PlayStation new games from the hard drive. Do you have PlayStation plus and did you try Xbox game pass to compere those 2?
Yes it works on TV as well. Fist time I tried i had lag for some reason on my TV. Fortunately it left after some time and it played without any problem.
Yes, Just picked up a Logitech m&k combo and a ONN m&k combo from Walmart maybe an hour ago and both work. Both wired setups... Not sure about "wireless" Logitech although Microsoft tech support said it would when I called yesterday. I just choose the safer side.

I appreciate this, but ill just stay on PC until a Console can fully accept a MNK because i agree, i only use a controller for racing or a use a steering wheel pedals etc.. No, when you connect the keyboard and mouse you can turn it off. But if you use wired headset to controller then you better plug it to a power source so you keep it turn on all the time and have sound. 🙂
I cant get any games/apps to acknowledge a mouse..?? All the keyboards I've tried will work, but never any mouse's.. I've tried 4 total, two wired ones (the factory hewlet packard one and a cheap Proscan gaming one), and two wireless ones (a decent gaming Corsair and a cheap logitech).. I've tried turning off the controller, I've unplugged the system for two+ minutes, I've tried all the usb's, everything's updated.. still nothing works..? I've tried playing: Ark, Microsoft flight simulator, Cities Skylines.. and other games that allegedly support mouse and keyboard, yet cant get them to work with a mouse.. The only game I can even see a mouse cursor is in Microsoft Flight Simulator but its stuck in the top left of the screen and doesn't move.. Is there a particular list of mouse's that only work with xbox?, seems kinda odd that all the cheap and generic keyboards I've tried work but never a mouse?? ..Also I have a FlightMaster Hotas One that should be amazing for the Microsoft Flight Simulator game and others like Mechwarrior5 etc.. yet it doesn't work with any of those games.. what gives? Any help with at-least the mouse problem would be great!
Hello and thanks for your question. Normally it should work with any mouse and keyboard. Try to find any settings on those games, maybe there is something there to change to mouse and keyboard option like i had on the warzone. Because at the beginning it wasn't responding for me either. Also shut down the controller and see if anything change.

Yes with wireless keyboard and mouse you could do that but i don't know how comfy it is. When i want to sit on the sofa i usually prefer the controller.

is your performance improved on fps games as well as 3rd view shooters such as gears?
I have turned cross play off on my series x so I only ply with others on Xbox rather than pc as I was getting slaughtered. This has yielded some improvement but I would like to improve further. I am thinking of getting the Razer Turret but it’s £245 with the mouse. I might just wait until a sale. Have you had any experience with razer turret? I was attracted as it actually has an Xbox buttton and is completely compatible so it says.
I haven't tried Razer Turret. But any keyboard and mouse will do. If it says that it's compatible even better. With fps games definitely it's better with keyboard and mouse but specific for Gears of War o think I still prefer to play it with the controller because of the better movement. Also I noticed that playing on a TV sometimes the mouse it's not so accurate, so if you have any problem like that try to play on monitor.

I'm curious as to how robust the key/button remapping is in these games for KBM. I'm assuming you can remap all the standard keyboard keys, but what about extra buttons on a gaming mouse? I would guess I couldn't because obviously there's no third party drivers on the Xbox but some devices register as generic button presses without their drivers on a PC. Would a mouse like that require the game to support simultaneous KBM and controller input?
Great question man! I just checked FORTNITE to confirm it and you can normally assign the extra buttons on a gaming mouse. I think it mostly depends on the game. I ll check Warzone right now and if you have other game that you want to play let me know maybe i can check it.
Check it also for Halo. Everything works normally. You can remap your keys and use the extra buttons without any problem.

when i change the colour of my mouse on my laptop to white i save and unplug it then plug it back into my xbox it goes back to flashing random colours again, any help?
Your mouse and most peripherals save the settings in a app on your pc, so it's normal on xbox not to work as you can't install the application.

There is nothing to do about dpi. After you can only find the mouse sensitivity on the settings of each game.

Came here searching for the keyboard key that is the A key on the controller. It seems you have to have the controller still plugged in to play games? :( I left my controller out of town :(
The A key should be the Space bar on the Keyboard. Some games that are not fully supported need the controller as well. Which games are you planning to play?
So much easier to use a benq mouse ie fk series ect,you can change dpi on the bottom of the mouse 400dpi 800dpi ect even refresh rate 500hz to 1000hz without messing around with pointer speed, i personaly put pointer speed to lowest in the settings as this reduces input lag and set mouse to 800dpi perfect and smooth
Sounds like a great mouse. Usually you have to install program for other mice and that won't work for Xbox...Thanks for sharing that 👍🙂

@@LiakourasMomentz PS5 controller definitely superior. Fits much better in my hands naturally and also has haptic feedback and a mic for voice commands which Xbox doesn’t.
Ps5 SSD is also nearly twice as fast. Has a much better unique game selection (personal opinion). Performance wise the Xbox gpu is a little faster but not by much at all
You can also actually play ps5 games right off your external hdd which you can’t on Xbox. Series X/S games have to be moved to internal storage in order to play
All that being said I do like the Xbox and am getting more used to the controller but I just love the ps5 and think it’s much more worth it if o had to pick one

I love also the PlayStation and their controller. Even now when i play my xbox with a friend, i say press Cycle (O) or Tringle but on xbox there are different letters..😅 I just have spend lot of time of my childhood playing on PlayStation.
This was the first time i got into an XBOX and i really got pissed off with the Series S that they gave 360 GB of usable space from the 500 GB. It's barely enough for 2 games. So you definitely have to spend more 200$ for the expansion card if you want to install more new X/S made games.
The series X you got or the new black series S are at least better on that.
And i didn't know that you can play on PlayStation new games from the hard drive.
Do you have PlayStation plus and did you try Xbox game pass to compere those 2?

Yes it works on TV as well. Fist time I tried i had lag for some reason on my TV. Fortunately it left after some time and it played without any problem.

Yes, Just picked up a Logitech m&k combo and a ONN m&k combo from Walmart maybe an hour ago and both work. Both wired setups... Not sure about "wireless" Logitech although Microsoft tech support said it would when I called yesterday. I just choose the safer side.
Xbox say all keyboard and mouse are supported. Even wireless.

Some games require to have the controller still open and some times you will need to use the controller as it is partial keyboard and mouse support.
Tried playing dayz on mnk and it wouldn’t work, any more to do for it to be enabled other than plugging it in and turning the controller off?
Did you go to the -->option's --> controls--> mouse and keyboard you have to enable it.

On xbox menu you don't do nothing. On games it might ask you to select which input method you are using.

I appreciate this, but ill just stay on PC until a Console can fully accept a MNK because i agree, i only use a controller for racing or a use a steering wheel pedals etc.. Not complaining about console gaming at all, there are a lot of insanely great gamers on controllers, and they should keep doing what they do best ! we all have our own preferences that is all.
Having trouble using mouse and keyboard with series s and GTA it says "please reconnect the controller or connect a different controller and press any button" I can't work out how to exit the game I have to turn the console off and back on

No, when you connect the keyboard and mouse you can turn it off. But if you use wired headset to controller then you better plug it to a power source so you keep it turn on all the time and have sound. 🙂
I cant get any games/apps to acknowledge a mouse..??
All the keyboards I've tried will work, but never any mouse's..
I've tried 4 total, two wired ones (the factory hewlet packard one and a cheap Proscan gaming one), and two wireless ones (a decent gaming Corsair and a cheap logitech)..
I've tried turning off the controller, I've unplugged the system for two+ minutes, I've tried all the usb's, everything's updated.. still nothing works..?
I've tried playing: Ark, Microsoft flight simulator, Cities Skylines.. and other games that allegedly support mouse and keyboard, yet cant get them to work with a mouse..
The only game I can even see a mouse cursor is in Microsoft Flight Simulator but its stuck in the top left of the screen and doesn't move..
Is there a particular list of mouse's that only work with xbox?, seems kinda odd that all the cheap and generic keyboards I've tried work but never a mouse??
..Also I have a FlightMaster Hotas One that should be amazing for the Microsoft Flight Simulator game and others like Mechwarrior5 etc.. yet it doesn't work with any of those games.. what gives?

Hello and thanks for your question. Normally it should work with any mouse and keyboard. Try to find any settings on those games, maybe there is something there to change to mouse and keyboard option like i had on the warzone. Because at the beginning it wasn't responding for me either. Also shut down the controller and see if anything change.
