I recommended this to a general contractor to use. He balked at the cost, and I don't blame him. It is tough to swallow when you haven't had a problem before. I hired him to do a project replacing all the wall hand railing in a skilled nursing facility I was the owner's rep for. He got about 75% done and his guys hit a cold water line in one of the walls. His insurance covered the costs for him to repair the water damage (water is like fire in a structure - it just travels downward instead of up). His own deductible was $5,000. He bought one of these units a few days later while he was still working on the water damage restoration. He finished the job with no other issues. This scanner is a belt & suspenders approach to remodeling/renovation jobs, but avoiding the big mistake is worth more than this unit costs.
Out of my price range, but seems really cool.
I didn't even they made something like this. that's a real useful tool
"They're in the room man!!" (Aliens)
I can see buying this if only you where doing this every day looks to be $1,199 in price.
Would love a full review video on this! I’ve been wanting a wall scanner for a while now and had my eye on the Makita one originally. There aren’t many good reviews on either of them so I haven’t been convinced to spend the $1200 bucks yet
I have an earlier iteration , it has saved me a lot of headaches , detects Pex ! If you don’t have a competent wall scanner , you must be on Drugs!
The only rewson i dont have one is the price, in australia last time i checked it was over $1200, just out of my price range
You are very expensive friend to have 🤣, but the right tool for the job makes life easier- 2 months ago I’ve had just bunch of old tools that were heavy and clunky- my service bag was i think 200 pounds lol, now between knipex and wera i can attach most of the tools that i need to my belt :) ( Hvac).
But let’s not forget that other brands like chanellocks - they make -for example -lianemans pliers that outperform other brands imao! Thank you and best wishes to you and your loved ones ❤️!
At that price, I'll wait for the Harbor Freight version.
What's the price?
What's the price
Whoa....😳... nevermind.
Close to 1k
@@joea1018 Exactly why I said nevermind. They want $1200 for it
Very cool
Can i turn it sideways and scan the contents of a ceiling
I had the Dtec 120 it was garbage it used to beep at everything! I never knew what it was telling me. Unless it was faulty.
But does it go through thick plaster? also how does it tell you if it's a wood stud or a vent pipe that's plastic?
I suspect it can also scan Concrete floors , and other flooring types ! You’ll probably find Jimmy Hoffa !
Sure can!
How much? And where do I get one?
Lowe’s has it!
I wonder how well it works with plaster and lathes.
Yeah, found these useless on thick porcelain tiles
