Thats my buddy austins old 02. Man that thing was a runner. He and i both took it to 95 with my 30p chopper! He regrets selling it everyday lol. I told him not to sell it. Super clean rig. Hope your friend enjoys it!

Gorgeous boat, love the mariner colors too. This is not a rip at all, but would you take all that time to strip it down correctly and then not do the final finish properly?? Looks like you will have to go to a 15in mid....lolol Darn..ha ha

Yes it's a good lookin boat. And it's fast. But it's not a race boat. It's a sport runabout, lake boat, anything but a competition hull. I know... I raced a ventura II COMP hull. Your Allison is not a race hull. It's got a thicker deck, thicker freeboard, floor decking, Upholstery etc. In the mid 70s- early 80s, I was going the same 90+ mph with the "old mercury tower of power" online 6 sx 150 Twister rated at 150hp. Now to help you with paint sticking at those speeds . You should use an etching primer on the lower unit. You put the restriction in the wrong place. It should be at the very end of the cooling system. Not between the water pump and the power head where it is now. Yes you'll have more water pressure between the pump and the restriction, but less in the power head where you want it. You want more pressure in the powerhead 2 more efficiently transfer the heat from the cylinders to the water.. That's why you need the restriction at the very end of the cooling system at the tell tail.
Your choice of prop type is a good one. Looks like you're using a chopper type prop. They give good bow lift. And yes, removing the lip at the back of the pad will give you more speed, but at the expense of some stability on the top end. Also, like the other poster said, get a 15" mid section and exhaust header for it. That will greatly reduce the drag on your lower unit.

If a 1500xs went 90+ it was on a tunnel boat with a speed master lower unit. What prop and gear were you running?
