Absolutely love your videos. My 17 year old son is restoring a 78 CB750K for his senior project in high school and we've been watching videos for inspiration/information/how-to on several areas. Your videos are really well edited and give great detail & explanations so a great big thank you from both of us!
Keep em coming because we anxiously await them every week.

A good tip to custom build a bike: try to assemble your bike, put some miles on it, and make your adjustment. Once you made a decision that this is how you want your motorcycle to look like; disassemble it, paint it and assemble it again. I know its a time consuming process, but you won't scratch or repaint any of the parts.

I build bicycles, in a simillar fashion you do motorcycles - I put the wheels on and just sit there daydreaming about the final result. Cheers! Many good evenings with your videos.

This is how I do tires. I put the tube inside the tire first with little air. (Talc powder inside the tire first to prevent wear on mx bikes) then I place tire with valve stem on the floor. Take the rim with stem hole down. Insert tire inside of the tire. Then place bead on one side at at time. Keeping the bead in center to help grow it.

your videos are aw-some , the idea of a scrambler sounds good to me , I have a 750 1978 k with 10k miles on it,- and scrambler is probably where she's going to end up as soon I find a 79 cbx to put on my garage and flirt with all I want . then i'll came back to your videos to learn some more tricks for the 78. Thanks for the vids and the ideas , keep them rolling dude .

You have some of the best DYI motorcycle vids I have seen on youtube. Great video quality and very detailed information. I just got a 1983 cb450 that I am going to turn into a café racer. I am a noob and will make plenty of mistakes, but with all the information from your vids I will make less of them. Thanks for all the information and hard work! I am in the process of watching all of your vids.

Great build! I'm a fan since the Sabre, not because I love the Sabre, but because of what you do yourself. Almost wanna complain about waiting for the videos, but that is only because I can't wait to see the next step of the build. Love the progress this week with the rolling chassis. Can't wait for the engine to get done!

As usual awesome job Dean. Frankly I have no interest in bikes but I am an addict to your show because of your pragmatic approach to working on cool projects.

when you poked the hole in the tyre just shows why it is hard to do projects and film them for you tube. most of the time you end up rushing things and make mistakes. thanks for making the videos. its hard

talcum powder works really well with inner tubes....Keeps then dry and stops them from getting pinched......

tyres like those likely won't have directional indicators on their walls because the tread itself has no direction. look at any sport tyre, it will have a vee pattern in the tread. Looking over the handlebars at the tyre top, the vee should point forwards. the vee is a water dispersal channel designed to passage water away from the contact patch and out to the edges so it stands to reason that the point of the vee should hit the surface of a wet road first. I see so many tyres rotating the wrong way, but these tyres have no vee so it doesn't matter which way they turn.

Bolts for front brake disc's can be easily found used, look for early twin disc bolts from a goldwing. These can be used on all cb SOHC twin disc conversions

What kind of grease do you use on those pivot bolts? do you use the same grease on the rear and front wheel shaft bolts? I've seen a lot of different brands out there. but don't know the pros and cons between them....

Hey dean, are you having a local shop balance your wheels? Because Tru wheels still need to be balanced right? Forgive me, spoke wheels are new to me lol

Hey, that front tire maybe on the wrong side. The speedo cable is on the right if memory serves correctly. Good job on the bike its looking great. One other thing, that center stand seems short or the shocks are long I seem to remember the rear tire being higher off the ground when on the stand.. Just my two cents anyway.

    • @DeanSegovis

I'm working on a 78 cb750 that has a very similar (possibly the same) fork/rear wheel setup and I'm having trouble finding torque specs for them! Any chance you could tell me the specs for the front axle nuts, upper/lower triple trees, fork oil bolts (where you add oil), and the rear axle? Thanks!
