It is EVIL... Yet, I can’t help but find it incredible that he’s managed to plan it all out so perfectly; to the point where he’s essentially turned the breakup into a golden high point for his life-style in all the time after. He’s got it all now: The majority custody, significant child-support, the moral/emotional leverage to get his ex to do almost anything (Exaggeration on that one, but he’d still has a hell of a lot of leverage there,) And the admiration of his kids. All by being a methodical, relatively cold-hearted son of a gun. XD (He doesn’t seem to feel guilty about the current situation: The somewhat misplaced admiration of his kids, stringing his ex along on a line with no end in sight; the numerous sex partner’s he’s had since the breakup *on top of his ex.* etc.) Don’t get me wrong, I’m not sympathising with the ex whatsoever... But damn, you’ve gotta be some level of psychotic to plan through all this and actually have it work without feeling bad.

you're shaming the women who worked their backs off to clothe the needy men who were too "busy" to do some chores? okay.
men did the brutal stuff, but only because back then women were only valued as a way of carrying on the generations. so they ended up getting stuck with the chores and little demons that we humans call children. so really, who did more work? the men who slaughtered countless numbers, or the women who sustained, created, invented, and worked on the villages?
both sides have done wrong of course (the women who thought that they was slick and tried to be serial killers/rapists/etc), but you didn't specify how far back ancestors that you're talkin'.

Yeah, letting the kids know at that age was kind of sociopathic. He didn't do it for their own benefit but only did it to get back at his wife. Using his kids as pieces to ruin her life. Of course, he has every right to tell them (as he was cheated on), but manipulative nature of trying to make them just stumble across raises some red flags for me. I wonder what the real reason the wife wanted to find someone else was.

It's just so *SATISFYING* (I'm not being sarcastic) to feel righteously angry at strangers on the internet.

But the anger and frustration don't go away at the end of a video - if anything, they build and you just end up wanting to watch another one; it becomes similar to an addiction. Not to drugs or gambling, but to anger. Unfortunately, all it's doing is tearing North America apart (and many other parts of the world) while the ultra-rich laugh at how easy it is to distract us with shiny little distractions so that we never come together to tackle the real problems that our countries face.

But the childrens shes dont line up..lol Anyway, he knew that in Vermont Dads generally must prove the mother incompetent to get custody and shared custody is not ordered by the Judge it has to be agreed upon by the parents. So, he played the idiot while gathering every bit of evidence of her infidelity and her bashing him etc etc. He even hired a private detective to get video evidence and even had her hotel room trysts records with a wall mounted device that can HEAR everything...lol He filed and delivered his packet on her the same day. She lost her fucking MIND.....But like the first story, her image and public/ familial persona and image are everything to her. She cried and cried to all of us about the situation but we wanted nothing to do with her and she was basically shunned from their mutual friend group. Best part?? 5 years later he and HER childhood bestfriend fell in love and got married. They have 2 children of their own and after 10 years are still blissfully happy.

2 minutes in and it hits home hard. I experienced very similar but not with children or married (engaged though).
I helped her get out of a terrible, almost abusive relationship. We clicked, we had the world ahead of us. Then she starts going down a road I didnt want her to. Looking back she never showed much respect for me.
I got her back into college, I got her a steady paying job, and she even found new friends.
Well, after 2 months of being engaged she started to cheat on me, would use my car to go see her boy toy and lie to my face etc.
One day when I was suspicious of her behavior of "trying to reconcile", she goes to the bathroom while we had a dvd loading up and left her phone on the couch. I turn to her phone and sure enough "ill never love him", "he annoys me", etc. When I exposed it, she tried to break me down verbally assaulting me. Saying how he was a man and I wasn't, so on and so forth. Well sure enough, my buddy who knew her boy toy helped me find a new Apartment, we arranged a time to move and she starts to panic.
She tried to meet her boy toy to make sure she wasnt screwed, there was no way she wouldve afforded her apartment.
Because it was my car she had no transportation to finish her college classes. She was warned due to her dropping out multiple times that this was her last chance. She had no choice but to drop out. She lost her job, she was evicted, and her "friends" didnt even like her after a few months of knowing her. She was a wreck, her late 30 something year old boy toy lived with his grandma and he clearly couldnt take care of my ex let alone himself. Eventually he dumped her because it was too much drama.

100% percent with the first guy right up until he purposefully got his kids involved with some intentional "carelessness." His wife is garbage for cheating, but that was petty and selfish and he hurt his kids at LEAST as badly as he hurt the ex-wife in doing so. It was great up until the last few paragraphs where he kind of outs himself as a manipulative narcissist. Makes you wonder if everything actually played out EXACTLY how he explained it, and if there was anything that might have lead up to it that he conveniently left out so he could be the unchallenged heroic genius of the story.

@SlytherinLumosMaxima the kids are way too young. What youre saying is to throw a child who cant swim into the deep end and make him learn how to swim out of there by himself, and elsewise too bad. Sure talking with the kids wouldve definitely been an option but if you were in the situation how would you tell your 2 loved little ones? Humans respond differently to situations and emotions played a big part here.

Why are people complaining that the dad in the first story manipulated his daughter? He's not the one who cheated, therefore he's the one who's entitled to custody. Any method to achieve that is fair game, and men have a much harder time getting custody because courts see mothers as the default better parents despite the occurrence that made them split, whether it be initiated by the father or mother.
    *EDIT* ↓↓↓
Regardless of how and when, you cannot deny the kids were gonna find out anyway. Of course they were, there is one less person in the house, it's pretty obvious something changed and they're gonna question why. Regardless, the father in this looked at the statistics. It is a *fact* , NOT an opinion that women have an advantage in any custody battle, they are assumed to be the better default caregiver and are subsequently treated as such, therefore they are more likely to gain full custody, whether or not the father is one who cheated/initiated the divorce. I cannot justify manipulation, but I can sure as hell see the reasoning behind it, he wanted to be a father to his kids, but his affection for his estranged wife has ceased, because of a very bad mistake she knowingly did. However his chances in court do not outweigh hers, despite her being in the wrong. He needed his kids to side with him, unfortunately the method in which he accomplished that was rash, harsh, and not well thought out through, despite working.
And to be honest *NONE* of this would have happened had the mother not been so selfish that she trash talks her husband and then cheats on him. She ruined her family, in my eyes he deserves custody. Unfortunately he had to break the news to the kids, and he realized that they would still pick their mother over him, so he needed to shame her (just as she shamed him) to get them to side with him.
Also remember that this is just my opinion, I'm not forcing you to agree with me. :)
*ANOTHER EDIT* : This entire story is just a Reddit post, and many people including rSlash himself stated this story might be fake, so we don't know for sure this happened 100%. I just gave my view on who I thought was wrong and right.

Because he did manipulate? The wife being a filthy cheater doesn't take away that the man promised her he would't tell the kids if she agreed to his terms, which she did (that's manipulation) and then, he didn't just tell the daughter directly. He just let her find the articles and told her she wasn't supposed to do so (that's manipulation). He even states he is a saint to the eyes of his kids and that even if he has fun with his... tinderellas and Fwb (which is his private life and time and lowkey yikes but ok) he still has the ex wife coming over for sex having her clinging on the chances of getting back together, with absolute no intention of actually doing so. (That's...manipulating).

@@rosamarydejesusvelasotomay9563 I agree with the manipulation part of what you said. Guy never should've told his wife he wouldn't tell their kids in the first place, I mean damn they're obviously going to ask why their parents got divorced eventually! That situation calls for the more classic "I'll give you (insert whatever amount of time) to tell the kids what you did and why we're getting divorced, if you still haven't after (amount of time) then I'll tell them why."
Although, me thinking this way is probably what would lead to me losing my own kids if I ever get married and have any. You have to admit, it is kinda strange how when a wife or girlfriend cheats on a husband or boyfriend, the question is "what did he do to drive you away?" While at the same time, there IS no question when the shoe's on the other foot. He's just a pig/asshole/selfish or any other number of generic insults
