- This is from a trip to the DC area. I took all of the pictures but one. Can you guess which one. Arlington was the most impressive site I visited. So many great Americans have given everything. It was very overwhelming.
If this song doesn't touch your heart you have none.
if ye ha noo tears ye ha noo heart.
Cry more
I'm Sobbing just now, ....
many have never returned home
brothers,fathers,sons, they paid the price
Maureen I regret to inform you that I believe this is the worst song I have ever heard. As a Vietnam war vet I believe it’s quite disrespectful towards our sacrifice. HDJSB. sorry saw a Vietcong.
We were soldiers and end of watch brought me her e
Dude calm down lol
@@TAC0925 wrf bro, why?

This song is very powerful in so many ways. Anyone who has witnessed tragedy, any combat action will definitely understand where I am coming from. Good representation of the song by visuals presented. The bag pipes although beautiful, tear me up inside. Stay safe all`
A hugh thank you to all our soldiers that died and serves this country and there's for us to live
No joke I'm In tears here I'm eternally grateful
when you are the only guy alive in your team
Happens to me alot m8
I heard a veteran say once “I left home but never fully came home, part of me is still on that battlefield along with my brothers and sisters in arms” I didn’t know what to say when he said that I just stood and stared heart broken
Another reason to respect the people that served over seas.
Alot of words usually not spoken
If “We Were Soldiers” doesn’t make you tear up you don’t deserve to be an American
Mel Gibson good film dude
This song was featured In that film a bit of It anyway
When I saw the movie: We were Soldiers, I heard this music & found it was very nice. For long time, I thought it was:" Many men have gun. ".In my mind, people having gun is very cool & brave. I tried to find the song long time but I failed. So I typed "man have a gun" into the youtube search bar, then I found the familiar music. It was " Many men have gone." and not "Many men have gun." I like this song and will learn it.
Lay me down
In the cold cold ground
Where before
Many more have gone
Lay me down
In the cold cold ground
Where before
Many more have gone
When they come
I will stand my ground
Stand my ground
I'll not be afraid
Thoughts of home
Take away my fear
Sweat and blood
Hide my veil of tears
Once a year
Say a prayer for me
Close your eyes
And remember me
Nevermore shall I see the sun
For I fell to a German's gun
Lay me down
In the cold cold ground
Where before
Many more have gone
Ty👍
I salute to the served and the ones serving, If you are in or were in the military, Thank you and god bless you.
It's not 'many men have gone' it actually says 'many more have gone' but in scottish dialect.
Respect from a spanish man who lives in Scotland.
Our country needs to love us as much as we love it
A famous Scottish dirge. I was a combat Marine in Vietnam 1968. I lost many friends there.

God bless you.
May God always bless you! Thank you for your service.
Soldiers never are gone just missing never forget your history or you heritage
Just had a special feelings while listening to this song. It is absolutely touchable.
Great video.. As a prior service member it hurts so good listening to this song..
Thank you for the pics. My son's in the NJROTC and with every given chance we study history together. Including war movies and the philosophical/psychological/sociological aspects of such. I'm a musician that's been fortunate enough to serve overseas via DOD throughout the 80's. Those boys and girls are the true-blood of American hearts. I'll be picking this song up just for him/them.
Absolutely fantastic. Thank You. Greetings from Poland.
America is the greatest nation on earth where freedom, opportunity, prosperity and our civil society can flourish. We owe a gratitude of thanks to the brave men, women and their families who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Teach you children well.
Ahahahah, are you serious? Razzism, poverty

Ha ! You're just another no substance troll profile. Go live in another country if you think you can make it there. Good luck.
Beautiful & very touching music.
I just saw We Were Soldiers. Wanted to hear the whole thing
Pain only lasts a moment. Life after is everlasting.
Me too
Great movie
"Where afore, many more have gone." This song was written by I. MacKensie for a relative that was kia in WWI. And yes he was Scottish. If anyone cares to search the internet, you'll find the Scottish and English translation versions, and a history of the song.
Yeah, it says "Maire" or something like that meaning More
@@perth.railfan1522 Aye and sounds better in Scottish! But whatever language tis sung in it says it all!
He says "where before" you fucking idiot.

Agree
Strong scottish song, it sounds like a complete mashup of English and nordic languages. Or well it is I guess. Many of the words he sings sounds like icelandic or norwegian words. It's very interesting.
being scottish you can understand the lyrics. Very sad song..
Aye. No nee fo th subtitles
Remember the fallen who saved us all.rest In peace
I love this. Thank you.
It touches my soul....
To all the servicemen and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice, thank you.
Thanks Pop. Two tours in Vietnam. You came home, only to have Vietnam take you in 1993. Rest and be at peace. I'll see you on the other side.
Peace to the World!. Nobody should have to fight for a Safe world!
Goosebumps and tears my friend, and change your socks
Thank you to all those who have served!
This gets to me even more than "When the battle's oe'r" and "Bruce's Address." Deeply moving indeed!
Hauntingly beautiful.
So many young people have died fighting for leaders who wouldn't die for them.

I was hoping someone would see the message behind the music and pictures.
It sounds very touching just as when you loose someone
I do not know if Confederate monuments should be taken down, but if so, there should be other monuments erected to remember how terrible the Civil War was.
We owe it to the dead on both sides to remember why peace cannot come at too great a cost.
i feel like im going to die on deployment. i just hope i die with honor. and the enemies throat in my hands. im so scared but i have this feeling of confidence and certainty along with my feelings of dred. any vets understand what i mean? or am i thinking to much?
if this is to happen we will meet in valhalla brother
Im sure we fight for different armies, but I know we fight for the same cause. You ann any other soldier is my brother.
The whole reason I'm enlisting is so I can die a man and not in a bed
Going into a war without the will to win it spells certain death.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."
gratitude!
Amor de Los Guerreros . Shalom.
War is war, no matter where it was, It shouldnt matter of how much any nation has taken but should we should find a way that there is no tragedy. Let all nations, USA (America is made up of all the nations of North America and South), nations in Europe, and all around the world find a way to keep peace and let humanity focus on better things like space, medicine and progress.
We are on the same wavelength
May all our forefathers of wwi and all wars... rest in peace
We don't know them all, but we owe them all.
Yes it does brother im also from bragg 3BCT 82nd Airborne

Police and soldiers.
Rest in peace Jhon Kelly. Squadron will miss you brother.
What is this sound in the backround, between the pipes?
It is meditating.
best of the best
❤ you xx
If you were there in May, then my new guess is the black and white photo that was taken with snow on the ground. The photo that follows it has a Korean Flag in the forground. I'm not sure of the monument but I would imagine that it is in honor of the Korean War.
The Best
poor men who die of war they didn't live much longer like 40 years old 😭😭
My uncle has fought for our country but sadly he is gone
I would guess that the one picture that you didn't take was the one you were in. The one in fron tof the capital building.

I’ve been to Gettysburg. Pretty neat! Even a military surplus store
Wow
take you all for your service
This is probly a stupid question, but i´m swedish and we don´t have this song...we have our valhalla...but i have too ask about the origin about this song. Cheers for any kind of help...and remember the fallen who give the life to protect us
This was writen by a scotsman who wrote it in memory of his wife and sgt macenzie was the writers great grandfather who fought in ww1 for the british army
why'd you pick and choose with the lyrics? nice vid but you only put the lyrics for the parts that are easy to discern, not the ones where they're really needed
Rip Mackenzie
