Sgt MacKenzie was bayoneted while defending another injured Seaforth Highlander during hand-to-hand trench warfare. He died 09 April 1917.

My ancestors came here in famine and poverty in hopes of prosperity, they didn't know they would end up killing their own sons and brothers, they were conscripted right off the boat. Now we've destroyed their graves because they said it was a symbol of slavery and racism, How were they responsible for slavery or racism? They couldn't even afford such a thing. 95% of confederates didn't own slaves. Imagine being called racist for honoring your existence in America.
