Best tips! This man really knows how to teach about surfing technique. He also mentioned low body flexibility, something that i struggle since i am very strong but too stiff.
is it okay to do it frontside too when the board takes too much time to turn? I ride an Olaian 7' foamie (i'm a 5'4 woman) and I find it really hard to maneuver

Learning a backhand grab rail made me feel super confident in steeper waves! highly recommend spending some time on it
Totally agree!
So nicely explained, thanks so much Ru!
It’s our pleasure Maria!
Thanks for the tips 🤙🏻 !
Love it! Thank you Surf Simply 🙏
My pleasure!
I'm excited to practice this. Hopefully it will also help with my bad habit of standing too tall as soon as I pop up.
John John mostly grabs rail at pipeline still. Critical for the drop. And at chopes he will let go of the rail to get some big pumps in.
Thanks that makes sense
Thanks for sharing Ru!
No problem 😊
'draggling' - I like it.
Haha! Yes well spotted!

how about grabbing rail when going forehand?
I do it sometimes, especially on the bottom turn
Absolutely! Anything that encourages more rail engagement and a lower stance for stability is worth doing!
I’ve got into a habit of grabbing my rail right as I’m getting up. How do I break this habit?
Have you seen Michel bourez dragging with his back foot?. its insane ahah
Yes! And of course the famous Kelly Slater butt drag from Pipeline a few seasons ago!
I feel like on my log this is the only way I can really set my rail and get going on that high line.
It certainly helps Eliot!
When barrelled backside in a head high wave on a foamie log, if you dont croutch and grabb that rail... 😉
HELLO, good video!
