- Advances in both LED panel technology and Unreal Engine have enabled in-camera VFX to become a reality-actors can be placed into scenes live instead of composited in post, and photographic elements can take advantage of environment lighting and reflections. Epic Product Manager Ryan Mayeda breaks down this new approach to filmmaking.

Thank you, Epic Games, for Unreal Engine, I'm enjoying messing around with it. It makes me appreciate developers much more
Where's part II? The tech inside the video walls.
How are you doing the camera frustum calculation for the real-time camera tracking and perspective? Could you share a blueprint?
Hey folks, what would you think about having a ‘WeWork’ of the virtual production ?
Which basically means a space where anyone who wants to test content/games or anything related to virtual production can pop in and test their work? The space would be fully equipped with LED WALLS and all material for Virtual production at a AFFFORDABLE price.
Had the same idea to put up in my area. We have game devs, music studios and movie studios around.
That's cooooooooool, but i do not have a $25,000.00 per day budget. Let's take a look ,back down on earth, at a tracking system that I can afford such as the HTC vive tracker. Some how I was able to set the tracker as a spectator camera. I was able to get tracker data to turn, but not move forward and back or up and down. Hmmmmm. Later own I would like to figure out a rig for focus and zoom to be added to camera focus data. Help please.
where did you see the price, please?
00:46 reflection of crew on left middle. (Actually there are more but due to DOF not recognizable)
this is pretty dang cool.
I managed to play with the post process of each viewport (including the camera frustum) on its own.
However the right screen has a red tint. so when half the frustum in on the right screen and the other half is on the left screen, there is a color difference.
When manipulating the post processing of the right viewport it affects only the area outside of the frustum.
Is there a way to manipulate the part of the frustum that is over a certain viewport only.
How to make it work with the 3D cameras? Because you need to render two different perspective for both eyes.
3D is kind a dead. I personally prefer saving my money and watching in in 2D.
Using nDisplay on more than one screen; How can I make a color correction in only one viewport (screen)?
Will you be selling this tech to outside studios, if so I'd be very interested in bringing this to my area.
The software that does all this is Unreal Engine which you can download for free (game developers pay royalties of 5% after their first 1 million). You would have to buy or hire the LED wall screens, cameras, tracking equipment etc. I saw another video and it had the name of a company that hires out the LED TVs for the wall, can't remember who they were though.
I understand to sync the render nodes, but why do the primary editor need the master clock?
Same question here
Does anyone know what LED panels and supports they are using to build the Panel Walls ?
Wondering how to manage.. highspeed shots. 33 fps. 60 fps and 100 fps. Can all be adjuated from a single control?
They talk about it near the end of the video, its a feature of the graphics cards used in the render computers: google genlock
Will UnrealEngine release iPad app to control settings for LED or its proprietary of some other company?
not after their apple fight :D
Hey all, how are you dealing with the moire issue?
I think they use anti moire filter in font of the led
I wonder what resolution the wall is running
wall_demo was running at 3168x1232
Amazing 🔥
Do we need to use a same hardware spec on the primary, and the render machine?
The render machines don't need to have the same spec as each other, but they should all use the same family of GPU and the performance will only be as good as the worst GPU can handle......... the primary doesn't need to render, so it can be anything, as long as it's up the the job it needs to do..........
Wondering what the cost would be to set something like this up in a warehouse. 2 million maybe?
Also, can anyone point to where those small seamless LCD panels come from.
I have 15" displays from China for $50 for my own tinkering, but have never seen LCD walls pieces.
Look up ROE products, a pretty common LED wall. Not sure what product they are using here.
Now that I've made it through more of the video, yes those are ROE tiles. www.roevisual.com/ I want to know how they are eliminating moire.
the average cost for this is 2 - 3 M$, Leds cost around 17000$ per square meter

@@streetcommunication9783 Great! ....... but this stuff doesn't come cheap, what's the business model?
What if the ground was a movable platform? You could totally make actors walk around.
or the screens moved, like the Jamiroquai, virtual insanity music video...
Excellent conference what it's the app name for ipad and where can i find pls ?
Any luck? ....... did you find the app?
@@Dazzer1234567 no bro it’s not on marketplace
@@qbanitoproduction alrighty, you can also roll your own with Open Stage Control
Let us know if you need more LED Panels. :)
this is not a bug, its a feature 44:41 :D
Wow
