@@whissguzman8740 I don't have any experience with the Rockville Punisher subs, but you are going to run into the same problem. Both Boss and Rockville are notorious for fabricating their power ratings out of thin air. Because of that none of the advice I give applies to those brands. There's no way to stock electrical system in a 2001 Volkswagen can support a 3,000 watt amplifier. You're going to need an upgraded alternator and a second battery.
I really can't hate Boss outside their inflated numbers. A little research and know how does make these little amps decent for budget stuff though. I have a "2k" set up on a power supply for my PC system and works great. Just wish they'd stop with the misinformation.
I believe it is a vicious cycle in that Budget A and Budget B have similar amps that do lets say 500rms and Budget A lists theirs as 1000w Max and Budget B lists theirs at 4000 watts max. Many an uneducated consumer will buy Budget B due to the printed labels, even if Budget A is a better brand or better quality or even identical in every aspect. In order to maintain competitive sales Budget A is almost forced to print PMPO as well. Otherwise they will be outsold by Budget B. Many companies cannot sustain during the "accreditation period" to be considered a properly rated brand. Especially if they already have a reputation for such activities.
I’ll tell u what, some people know what rms means. Lmao. And these 100$ ( 1000 watt) boss amps 😂 are more reliable than any 250$ amp , same goes for pioneer. They might only make 500 watts on a good day, but most cheaper subs only rms at about 300 watts so it slams for 250$ and lasts over 10 years without continuous maintenance and tinkering on your system.
Ok 1:25 into it….. it’s a 400 rms amp. It’s BOSS what do you expect. But hey if your not going to do your homework and just buy based in the big flashy numbers and cheap price…. Ha ha freaking HA!!! 👺

@@DIYAudioGuy I actually post this with all my equipment on OfferUp-If your on a stock power supply you can power maybe 300-1000 watts properly. from a 4cyl 300-600 watts a 6cyl 400-700 watts and your average V8 600-900 watts BASED ON THE ALTERNATORS AND BATTERIES THAT COME STOCK IN YOUR VEHICLE. So.... for example if you have a 2000 watt amplifier (or bigger) or multiple amplifiers you can only produce the wattage that your power supply can support so If your not happy with your bass you may need a smaller amp with lower wattage subs to get better bass not the other way around. Or turn you gain way down and be humble. It Takes power to make power. And if your trying to push amps to powerful for your power supply you’ll get crappy sound, heat and can end up damaging your alternator. If your “blowing” subs but on stock power supply your frying coils due to “clipping” aka lack of proper power supply to your amplifier(s) as you try to push wattage you can’t produce. Also using songs off of RUclips or rebased music will also destroy subwoofers due to signals that are not clean they may sound like there giving you more bass but it’s mostly distorted bass. If you’ve read this far you’re probably interested in learning more about getting good sound ya I do have stuff for sale but I give more advice and help then actually make sales and that’s ok I’m not in it for the $$ this is maybe 1/3 of my collection that I’m willing to sell I have over 30 years experience in audio I DO NOT INSTALL OR MAKE ENCLOSURES ANY MORE I HAVE MY REASONS. @DIYAudioGuy okay i will check it out. I meant to say that im running 2 10s boss chaos "1500w" in this boss amp and had them running in 1ohm and they were fine until i had to switch them back to 4 ohm and tune it down because of the Distortion.
Would you say that the amp you recommended it above will be suitable for 2 Punisher 10s subs i believe they are 2 ohm. And im currently running my equipment in a sealed box. Thanks a lot for taking the time in responding 🤙
@@whissguzman8740 I don't have any experience with the Rockville Punisher subs, but you are going to run into the same problem. Both Boss and Rockville are notorious for fabricating their power ratings out of thin air. Because of that none of the advice I give applies to those brands. As for the distortion you are hearing, that may just be due to clipping. I have a video on setting gains. Assume that this amp is only good for 500 watts and follow that video. ruclips.net/video/MBcGOoRJ4Ro/видео.html If you still get distortion then consider getting a pair of these subs instead: amzn.to/45rrgNd that brand is not any better than Boss, but they do provide and accurate RMS power rating.
2 30 amp fuses... so around 604 watts maximum at 80% efficiency? Haven't watched the results yet, just taking a guess.
If even that.
Infinity ias 3000w cdiscount?????
If they actually listed the correct rating on the box and amp. The pricing would not be that bad, honestly. Especially, with the other goodies it come with the amp.
You would think that their marketing strategy would backfire, especially now that you can just google the amp and get a test on RUclips. But they have been doing it for decades and it is working for them. I don't get it.
Where is the link for the RCA pigtails ?

There's no way to stock electrical system in a 2001 Volkswagen can support a 3,000 watt amplifier. You're going to need an upgraded alternator and a second battery.
okey thank you where to find an alternator in france there is no
What about the performance of boss audio ox4kd
I suspect that it will be about the same -- just shy of rated power at clipping.
2 brands I'll never trust again. From personal experience. BOSS and Rockville. Never again.
I understand.
Does it bump tho lmao like a boss🤣🤣😂
🤣🤣🤣
can you test boss ox4kd
It's going to get the same result. If the 3000 w version is a 500 or a 600 w amp then the 4000 w version is going to be a 750 or 800 w amp.
@@DIYAudioGuy that makes sense. thank you.
The Boss 400 promises 400w, but gives us 90w rms,or a little bit less. Is literally a swindle
That's how they roll.
I really can't hate Boss outside their inflated numbers. A little research and know how does make these little amps decent for budget stuff though. I have a "2k" set up on a power supply for my PC system and works great. Just wish they'd stop with the misinformation.
That is pretty much the only negative.
If you rate your products properly you will sell more of them it's amazing that boss doesn't know this.
It is a shame that these companies don't understand that.
Boss is the highest selling amplifier company for awhile now so I’m sure they have it figured out
I believe it is a vicious cycle in that Budget A and Budget B have similar amps that do lets say 500rms and Budget A lists theirs as 1000w Max and Budget B lists theirs at 4000 watts max.
@@MurderousMindstate Yep, it's like an arms race.
I'll go with my 1200w Jenson amp
Another one of those budget brands from back in the day! A lot of people ran them.
I think it's a good deal
It's not that bad, especially since it has an infrasonic filter and it is strapable. Not a lot of amps in this price range do both of those.
👍
👍
I’ll tell u what, some people know what rms means. Lmao. And these 100$ ( 1000 watt) boss amps 😂 are more reliable than any 250$ amp
, same goes for pioneer.
Hopefully this video can help somebody out there make an informed decision. If you know somebody that's new to car audio please share the video with them.
I have over 10000 invested in my vehicles system I’m not into spl competitions or car shows I’m into audio as a passion and I’m always learning. Shops are out to make money not to help you.
Great review, really appreciate these tests. This amp is a hard pass, for the $$ they want you can get a way better amp, much better. Over priced, under delivered.
The ultimate problem with the amp is that it's not a terribly good value.
Bass knob was upside down, that's not 3m it's WE double side tape. Lol
🤣🤣🤣
@@DIYAudioGuy but to be fair this has to be the most capable boss amp to date. Even back when zed made a few models. He told them what the rated power was. Boss of course still multiplied that by ten. But this might be the first one capable of hitting there number. Since its strappable. Time to buy more too see how many to hit 3k? God job on the video.
I'm guessing their amp wiring kits are just as much overrated because I blew a fuse on 4 awg wire with just a 1200 watt amp 😅
That is better than melting a wire!
top👍
👍
1 minute 30 seconds into the video, I'm going to go ahead and guess this thing won't do any better than 600 watts RMS
edit: why in the world is it running 2 30 amp fuses? It doesn't even need 1 30 amp.
Fuse rating x 10 is shockingly accurate.
@@DIYAudioGuy I always do the x10 even though others say x13 or 14... it really is accurate because the difference between x10 and say x13 or 14 is the 60%-75% efficiency. So I figure why not cut the crap and just do x10 and be pretty darn close.
ou New Skar Audio EVL-10 D2 2000 W Max Power 10 Pouces Dual 2 Ohm SPL/SQ Voiture Ca

Nope, not even close!
look at fuse rating can tell everyone what a output power that amp can does. with a 60amp total fuses that mean this amp can't push over 700w rms. boss amp just compatible with boss sub 🤣 boss with boss
It's kind of sad, it is a perfectly find amp. Slapping 3000w on the side of the box did not help one bit.
Is using speaker wire to wire a car amplifier to a car battery considered the poor mans method of wiring a car amplifier to a car battery.
Poor man's fire starter maybe. Please don't do that.
you know you dont have anything close to what they offer in power when you see spade connectors :\
Oh yea.
Without fail, Boss goes the extra mile to rip off the consumer. Wether its amps, speakers, or Hu’s, they are NEVER the best value .
Right, just not a lot of bang for the buck.
over inflated power ratings, like every consumer stereo system ever lol !
Inflated ratings LIKE A BOSS!
More junk, NEXT!
Thanks for watching.
Made in China.
Yep, but so is almost everything else. Hopefully I can test a few more of these and prevent people from wasting their hard-earned money on these things.
@@DIYAudioGuy that's the sad part we are so dependent upon China to make everything.
Even my Samsung TV is Maiden China despite it being a Japanese company.
Boss crap! No thank you.
Hard to believe that a company with such a bad reputation sells so many amplifiers.
They are cheap and do the job. That’s their selling point but I’m more of a audiophile. Not fanatic but I enjoy great sounds. Buy cheap, get cheap.
