- 7 AEW Wrestlers Who Will Return To WWE. With Triple H in charge, some people regret signing AEW contracts and want to come back.
When Vince McMahon was still in charge of WWE, the company wasn’t a hot destination for professional wrestlers. While entertainers and former athletes still joined WWE, the talent from the independent scene didn’t enjoy being in WWE. Tony Khan’s new company, All Elite Wrestling became the place to be at, for these independent wrestlers.
So whether they were released or simply waited for their contracts to expire, many WWE wrestlers joined AEW. Names such as Keith Lee, Adam Cole, Bryan Danielson and Cesaro are just a handful of the big list that jump ship. However, Vince McMahon is no longer running things. Triple H is the head of creative and things have drastically changed.
WWE is actually great again. RAW is watchable and SmackDown only keeps getting better. The PPV’s have been so much fun as well. The WWE wrestlers are also so much happier. Because of this, some ex-WWE talent in AEW regret their decision and want to return to the company. Here are seven wrestlers that I think will come back to WWE after they force their way out of AEW.

I honestly would like to see Chris Jericho go back to WWE one day. Have one last run where he could win the Royal Rumble like he should've 10 years ago if I'm being honest & headline WrestleMania one more time before officially calling it a career.

Personally I think Andrade's run in WWE was better than his run in AEW at least on WWE he was a mid card champion and actually treated decent he also beat Rey Mysterio

I think the major factor that’s preventing FTR from going to WWE is because of the history between Dax and HBK.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind if AEW let all these guys go. I am a fan of these guys, but it's honestly a positive thing for aew since it will give them chance to feature their homegrown talents more rather than ex wwe guys. So if these guys want to leave, let them leave.
I think what’s happening in AEW is the rose coloured glasses coming off for a lot of talent within the company. AEW was seen as the alternative option instead of working for WWE. From the outside looking in, it looked like the better place to be. More opportunities to get your name out there, more of an opportunity to do what you love with your own creative input. But with everything coming to the surface on the overall booking and under utilising of talent and morale of the company, it’s understandable to see that some of the talent are seeing the WWE as the new place to be. The WWE are doing so much better now than a year ago today. It’s the new cream of the crop. The grass is greener in WWE. If AEW wants to keep these wrestlers, they’ll have to do something to show that they can make these peoples wishes and wants a reality and not under utilising them like they feel they may have been treated.
With that being said, it’s also coming to the surface of how overwhelmed and out of touch Tony khan is within his company. You have to remember that WWE and especially triple H have been doing this for a long time and know how to make a company succeed. Tony is new to the wrestling landscape and I feel like he doesn’t fully understand how the industry works. He’s got a lot of learning and developing to do. I just hope for everyone’s sake that if they aren’t happy, they can be let go and allowed to move on and move forward (no matter where that is)
I kind of agree with you but don't think it's just a case of rose tinted glasses coming off, 2019 till mid-2021 AEW was the place to be, barring their woeful women's division the rest of the roster was utilized well barring a few outliers(see: Brian Cage), everyone got to work matches and if you were good, you got to be on TV, with the insertion of more WWE talent like Cole, Danielson and Punk in the roster meant the midcard didn't really get showcased meaningfully or worse, they ended up acting as losses against these talents, which isn't a bad thing but if it doesn't open up other stories for them, it's a net loss, which is when I feel AEW squandered a lot of their midcard talent
@@govardhanposina17 you raise some good points there. I think the increase of ex WWE talent only made less room for AEW talent that were there beforehand. Just means there’s less spots up for grabs and inflates the roster leaving people with no creative direction.
I agree with you about AEW women’s division. It is atrocious. Tony khan is so focused on the men’s wrestling side of things and doesn’t pay much attention to the women’s wrestling. If he just wants to have men’s wrestling, he can do that. But don’t make it look like you’re trying to make an effort for the women and not treat them equally. It just feels like the early wwe when the women had to work their way up to where they are now.

Some of these I agree with. I can absolutely see Black Murphy & Andrade returning to WWE for two reasons
1 There relationship with Triple H & how he treated them on NXT
2 There significant others being in the company
Regal I think will definitely return when his deal is up his son is in WWE & he has a strong relationship with Triple H
Can't see FTR or Miro returning never say never but here are my reasons.
FTR biggest issue with WWE was that the tag division wasn't treated seriously & the belts didn't matter. Both have said they felt the division was completely buried when Braun Strowman & a ten year old kid squashed the division to become champion. One thing AEW has over WWE is a better tag division it's one of the big selling points for them & FTR have said there legacy as a tag team is more important to them then being in WWE it's why they left. You never say never but when you take into account why they left WWE & the HBK incident I can't see them leaving anytime soon.
Miro said on the session with Renee he is happy with AEW & the lighter schedule has allowed him to do movies twitch & other things he couldn't previously do. The man signed a five year deal back in March & while multiple reliable sources have reported Black & Murphy wanting out those same sources have said Miro is happy in AEW & has no desire to return to WWE
Miro has only been missing from AEW television due to filming a TV series, he is very happy at AEW as it gives him a opportunity to seek other interest. Something that WWE does NOT allow.
There's definitely room for them all in WWE should they choose to come back. Hopefully they get booked better as well, granted all the talent WWE currently has.

And in case you're referring to Claudio, dude is awesome, but he's also over 40. He's not a future star. He finally got a world title reign, and I'm thankful for that. But he's only a major star to the more hardcore crowd like myself and others. Tony Khan didn't sacrifice a damn thing in that decision

Raw & smackdown was getting better for most of late 2021 to 22, Raw got new life when cody ran. Don't pretend all of this is due to hunter. Yeah he's doing good stuff but the good chunk of the current storylines was when Vince was charge. Give Vince credit whether you like it or not.
AB & Andre Idol is both a HHH project that is very successful in NXT, I hope they come back soon
Pllana imo Mox will one day go back to the WWE as well, MJF will go there once he loses the AEW title, and Bryan could go back to WWE if he doesn’t get a title run in AEW.

With exception to Macho Man, they all go back. I mean if Warrior, Hart, and Hogan (after his many issues) came back. Who has such a fractured relationship they won't? Punk maybe, but I could see him go back for a part time run. Jericho, Moxley, Danielson will return one day imo. That doesn't mean it's gonna happen in a snap though.
Khan has a lot of the guys locked into multi-year contracts. He isn't just gonna release them because the grass is suddenly apparently greener right now. I have hopes WWE will be better in the long run, but it's the same thing AEW has for it's first two years. It's the honeymoon era.
