Snot was unnecessary. Ever since a snot scene has popped up every year and every time it's just gross. I have been to funerals, never seen a person crying with a big load of snot rolling down their chin. Great movie but the snot didn't push it over the top

@@utubesuxalotofazz talk about sheltered lol. Of course people aren't crying that hard at funerals, theyve generally had weeks or months to process the death. This is him seeing and learning about her fate for the first time... It's a little different. Real pain and agony is not pretty

@@Tlaloc_D1You're completely, totally and 100% correct. That moment when you realise that you've lost the love of your life and that they're never coming back is heartbreaking and totally devastating, but add to that knowing that you might have been able to save them, then that's a feeling that no one can process.

@MrReasonabubble Sadly many of the greatest usually are almost unbearable to work with. Because, they throw themselves completely into what they're doing and that takes a level of concentration and commitment that takes a toll on them and everyone around them. Angels and Demons battling inside those people.

The look of actual shock and bewilderment on his face when they said he won made me cheer for him. And Juaquin Phoenix sitting close by so happy for him and being one of the first to congratulate him on the win was straight class. RC deserved to win that Oscar hands down, one of the best played roles I have ever seen.

I’m sure doesn’t want Maximus to be that kind of person, but I believe Maximus when he says it.. I don’t think it portrays anything other than pure love and dedication to his wife and son..
You don’t get the nice Maximus.. you don’t get the Maximus that lets it go and acts like his wife wouldn’t want him to do all this for her.. no no no. You get the man who has nothing to lose. The part of men that offers extreme loyalty.. There is no more nice Maximus.
He can’t wait to die and take his wife and sons murderer with him.. to hand deliver him to hades himself.. and possibly himself too.. I think the gods may understand though. They know what vengeance is.
