All honesty, I legit GASPED when this video played and I saw how absolutely gorgeous Dr. Sam looked. Beautiful doesn’t cut it. I was flabbergasted. Stunning. Divine. Immaculate. As a gay man, I don’t experience “straight panic” very often but this look had me jaw on the floor. Unbelievable. 😱💜✨
As a kid, I hated how pale my skin was. Unlike my siblings, I couldn’t leave the house without sunscreen. Now I’m 31 and grateful that I had to wear more sunscreen than the average kid.
@@hannahjump6438 it’s been a journey! I’ve definitely seen a major improvement in skin quality since starting. My texture has become so much softer, smoother, and my skin looks alive again. In fact, the improvement has raised my confidence so much so, I no longer hide behind the Snapchat cam but actually use the camera app for selfies. At my most consistent, my face was glowing! That’s the catch tho, you have to be consistent. There were a couple of months there around/after the holidays that my adherence was spotty, but I’ve been sticking to it again the last few weeks. Please do a skincare video for women in their 40s and please please please do a video on the exact makeup look you are wearing in this video! Beautiful!
I’m definitely one of those people in their 30s that just started with skincare. I was raised with “creams are poison”, so I’m late to the party, but it’s kind of my new hobby now and I’m loving it! Thank you for all your advice!!🙏🏻
@cocomarineblu993 exactly! It’s such a waste that I was so hesitant to even apply a moisturizer! Recently I told my mother I wanted to apply sunscreen before seeing her, and she actually got mad at me for it… But I know better now and am just happy I can find good information online😅
This is so timely for me. Thank you! Turning 37 on Saturday and just started a skincare routine last year, postpartum with my fourth kiddo. The struggle is real! 😅 Your makeup looks so beautiful and effortless! ❤
@@DrSamEllis Wow, extremely smart, super gorgeous AND genuinely kind? I'd say you're a superwoman, doc! 🥰 Thank you so much for the well wishes! I've been watching your acne videos with my soon to be teenager, and it's a very nice bonding time for us. So lucky to have this knowledge at our finger tips from knowledgeable women like you. 💖
Lucky generations that are growing up with all this information and better products available now that wasn't available growing up in the 1990s or prior, the industry has completely changed for the better as is the public's knowledge, expectations, and valid demands/concerns. Truthfully, I'm upset that I missed this largely out of inaccessibility/ignorance because this wasn't the case for my upbringing (31 now so obviously I am thankful I have been learning and incorporating so much and trying to make up for lost time) but I'm also so grateful and excited for others who now don't need to struggle so much for answers or to start taking care of their skin and aging from an early age! Thanks so much for your excellent advice and guidance Dr. Ellis, wish I had access to you (at least wish I had known about the benefits of sunscreen instead of listening to my mom who convinced me it was poison) in my teens!
I literally started a skincare routine for the first time EVER just 7 weeks ago. I'm 35. That's embarrassing. BUT I have gotten so happily obsessed with my morning and night routine and I cannot even imagine not having it anymore. Best thing I ever did. Love your videos!!
Hi everyone! Yes Nikki La Rose did my hair and makeup for this video! Amazing what a professional can do! She has an awesome RUclips channel that you should check out. (Also went blonder a few weeks ago!)
Dr Sam, your inner glow is showing… you always look so beautiful but like you’re stunning in this video! Goodness, a total profesional, a caring person and beautiful inside and out… goals! Honest life goals! Hope you and your family have been well!! ❤❤❤❤
In one of your morning routine videos you used Medik8 Liquid Peptides. I went out on a limb..because everything seems to break my skin out (still cannot find a skin like foundation) but I absolutely love this product! Also..my holy grail sunscreen is now Beauty of Joseon! I have never used a sunscreen this often! No breakouts!!! Thank you for sharing your wisdom!
I have been using Roc skincare every since I went to France. I love how affordable it is given the amazing quality and results I see. It is such a relief to not have to get a large dent in my wallet, especially for retinol.
Agree with you, the ROC nightime cream and eye cream are fantastic, affordable products! They helped me overcome discoloration from sun damage, and even though I've graduated to Avene RetrinAL products, I always have those two ROC products on hand. 😂
I’ll add a tip since it took me an embarrassing amount of time to figure this out. I wear earrings daily, but struggle to remember that sunscreen. I started keeping my sunscreen on top of the little dish where I keep my earrings. Now I always remember.

As someone who has alwasy been dry it is crazy to me that some people haven't been using a moisturizer! I love and highly recomend the Gold Bond Age Renew Retinol lotion! It is super moisturizing and not irritating. A really good price too. And I have certainly seen results already.
Did you notice any change in your patients’ attitude towards skincare routine as we had the pandemic? For some reason, I started thinking a lot more of my skin and especially having a daily routine in the pandemic times. Started to use sunscreen and tried various combos of retinol and vitamin c until I have found what works best for my skin. My skin never looked better, it‘s not like I look younger , but it is supple, brighter, even and no more breakouts either. It definitely looks better then in my 20‘s, I am in my 30‘s now
I’ve been trying to talk to a dermatologist about a skincare routine for years, since my 20s but they always ignore me or give me vague replies and just dump a bunch of samples on me. It’s so frustrating because I hate trying different things, there’s too many options, I just want a best recommendation for my skin type and then a follow up to see how it’s doing and adjust if necessary. Now I’m in my 30s and I’m still trying to figure this out!!! Again anytime I go to a dermatologist all they care about is “checking” for moles and then removing 2 moles per session, even though they said they were only taking a Sample, and the results are always negative. It makes me really dislike dermas since all they seem to care about is getting biopsy’s done to get the most money out of the patient and then don’t address what I want to know. So my question is are there any dermas in the world that actually help someone get a skincare routine going for their specific needs?
Most dermatologists agree on the fact that "clean" and "non-toxic" are forms of marketing and greenwashing and irrelevant. Most products they recommend don't fit into that.
Is it okay to use vitamin C and retinol in the same skin care routine? For example, I use retinol three nights a week but I use Vitamin C serum every morning? I haven’t noticed any irritation but curious if it’s okay to use the same cause I’ve heard it’s not from a few people. Love your channel! 30 is coming close for me and this video was so helpful!
